68: Chapter 68 Chen Hao
Qinghe County, Yun Province, located thousands of kilometers away from Hai City.
The Zhao family was the local tyrant of Qinghe County; even the county magistrate had to give them some face.
Yet, at this moment, the Zhao family villa was filled with a pungent stench of blood.
In the villa's living room, over a dozen bodyguards dressed in black martial attire lay scattered on the floor, all lifeless, with blood spreading through the gaps in the floorboards and staining the entire ground red.
In the center of the living room, a teenager wearing designer clothes and a face full of terror was desperately kneeling on the cold floor, kowtowing frantically to the young man in front of him, trying to beg for his forgiveness.
This teenager was the only son of the Qinghe County underworld boss, Zhao Hu, and the young master of the Zhao family—Zhao Wei.
Zhao Wei was born when Zhao Hu was middle-aged. Having a son late in life, Zhao Hu spoiled Zhao Wei to the extreme, which led to Zhao Wei developing an arrogant, domineering, and insufferable personality from a young age.
Because of his illustrious family background, he could practically cover the sky with one hand in Qinghe County. With a deep-seated disdain and cruelty toward the poor engraved in his bones, he ran rampant in the county, committing all sorts of evils.
And the person currently making him kneel and beg for mercy was not some powerful or influential figure, but his former classmate whom he had looked down upon and bullied wantonly in school—Chen Hao.
Chen Hao was only 1.7 meters tall, with a thin and frail frame, and his appearance was so unremarkable that he would disappear into a crowd. In the past, he was just a soft persimmon that anyone could squeeze.
Yet at this moment, his body was surrounded by a heart-palpitating pressure of true energy. This pressure was filled with monstrous murderous intent, completely incompatible with his past cowardice.
"Chen Hao, I was wrong! I really know I was wrong!" Zhao Wei's forehead was battered until it was bloody and mangled, his voice hoarse and trembling, filled with the humbleness of trying to survive.
"I was just confused for a moment, possessed by the devil when I pushed you off the cliff. I have regretted it immensely ever since. Please, spare me and give me a chance to live!"
Listening to Zhao Wei's humble pleas, Chen Hao's heart remained calm, without a single ripple. In his eyes surged an unresolvable, monstrous murderous intent. He stared fixedly at the kneeling Zhao Wei, his tone as cold as an ice blade in midwinter:
"Zhao Wei, I had no grudges against you. Just because I was an orphan with no power or influence, you bullied and humiliated me for a long time at school;
I got into Haishi University on my own merit, and you, out of jealousy, actually pushed me off a cliff, wanting to put me to death. If not for my good fortune, I would have long been smashed to pieces.
From the moment I survived the cliff, I swore that I would tear you to pieces and make you pay for your blood debt!"
These words cut deep into his heart like ice blades, scaring Zhao Wei into trembling all over. He kowtowed even faster, his wailing shrill: "Chen Hao, I really know I was wrong, I don't want to die! As long as you spare my life, I am willing to be your beast of burden for the rest of my life!"
Watching his ugly display as he desperately tried to survive, Chen Hao's lips curled into a cold sneer, his tone indifferent and resolute: "You don't know you were wrong; you just know you are going to die."
As his voice fell, without waiting for Zhao Wei to plead again, Chen Hao suddenly raised his left arm, spread his fingers, and firmly grabbed Zhao Wei's head. A surge of powerful true energy erupted from his palm, and he slowly applied pressure.
"Ah—! Let me go! Help!"
Zhao Wei felt his skull being squeezed by a tremendous force, causing unbearable pain. His skull emitted the cracking sounds of being unable to bear the load, and his head deformed rapidly under Chen Hao's terrifying grip, caving in heavily toward the center. The extreme pain made him let out a heart-rending wail as his limbs struggled frantically, but he could not move at all.
Chen Hao's eyes were cold, ignoring his wails. The force in his palm slowly increased, and with a crisp sound of bone cracking, Zhao Wei's skull was crushed, brain matter splattered everywhere, and the shrill wailing finally came to an abrupt end.
Zhao Wei's body twitched a few times before it completely lost all signs of life, ending his sinful life in extreme agony.
Looking at Zhao Wei's corpse on the ground, then sweeping over the dozen or so dead bodyguards nearby, Chen Hao remained expressionless. With a wave of his hand, a burst of crimson true energy transformed into flames, landing precisely on all the bodies.
The temperature of the flames formed by the true energy was extremely high. In just an instant, the dozen bodyguards, along with Zhao Wei's corpse, were completely consumed. Even the bloodstains on the floor were burned into handfuls of grayish-white ash, which dissipated without a trace when the night wind blew.
After finishing all this, Chen Hao walked out of the Zhao family villa, the murderous aura around him just about to dissipate.
Just then, a rush of engine roars approached from afar. A black Audi Q7 drove over at high speed and slammed on the brakes, stopping at the villa entrance, its tires emitting a screeching sound from the friction with the ground.
The car door opened, and an old man with graying hair and a fleshy, mean-looking face stepped out. It was Zhao Wei's father, the Qinghe County local tyrant—Zhao Hu.
His clothes were disheveled and his hair was messy; he had clearly rushed over in a hurry. Behind him followed three sturdy, fierce-looking personal bodyguards.
Previously, Zhao Hu had been enjoying himself with his mistress when his phone suddenly rang with the emergency alarm installed in the villa. The alarm was shrill and urgent, making him realize that something had happened at home. He immediately grabbed his pistol, took his three trusted bodyguards, and rushed home in a hurry.
Just as he reached the villa entrance, Zhao Hu saw the door wide open, with firelight vaguely flickering inside the house, and a burnt smell in the air.
And Chen Hao happened to be walking out slowly from inside, his aura cold and sharp; one look was enough to tell he had ill intentions.
Zhao Hu's face turned livid. He raised his hand and pointed his gun at Chen Hao, shouting angrily: "Where did this piece of trash come from? Daring to cause trouble at my Zhao family, you're simply seeking death! Do you believe I'll blow your brains out with one shot?"
Watching Zhao Hu pointing the pistol at him, a look of deep disdain flashed in Chen Hao's eyes.
Facing Zhao Hu's threat, Chen Hao moved slightly. The next second, his figure turned into an afterimage. His speed was extreme, and he instantly appeared behind Zhao Hu, his tone calm and waveless, even carrying a hint of casualness: "Excuse me, I'm leaving."
Zhao Hu hadn't reacted to what happened at all. He only felt his vision blur, and the person in front of him had disappeared. His pupils shrank, and just as he wanted to turn his head to check, a piercing pain shot through his chest.
He looked down and saw a huge, gaping bloody hole in his chest. Blood was gushing out frantically like a fountain, and fragments of his internal organs were clearly visible.
His face was full of disbelief, his mouth opened in pain, but he couldn't make a sound. His body fell backward, crashing heavily onto the ground. His eyes quickly lost focus, and he completely lost consciousness, never having seen how Chen Hao attacked before he died.
This terrifying scene before them scared the three bodyguards brought by Zhao Hu silly on the spot.
Looking at the ghostly Chen Hao, their legs went weak, and they collapsed directly onto the ground, trembling all over. They didn't even have the Courage to run away and frantically kowtowed to Chen Hao, begging for mercy:
"My lord, spare us! We are just trying to make a living! Please show mercy and let us live!"
Chen Hao didn't even look at the three people kneeling and begging for mercy, as if they were just insignificant ants. He didn't stop his pace and left the Zhao family straight away.
