515: Ling'er's brother!

Thinking of this, he calmly looked at the Nether Immortal and slowly said, “Alright, it turns out I am your brother’s Reincarnation, but I need to make it clear, I am not your brother. I am Lu Hao, Lu from Lu Hao, Hao from Lu Hao. I am a good young man, not your strange brother. At most, I can only offer you some help.”

The Nether Immortal did not speak, she just stared intently at the figure in the image.

Her long-frozen heart was once again stirred, and the emotions buried for many years surged out like a breached dam.

Seeing her like this, Lu Hao sighed slightly. He was about to put away the Three Lives Mirror, as he had already learned the result and didn't intend to waste any more time. However, the Nether Immortal looked at him with an almost pleading gaze and said with a trembling voice, “Can you let me keep watching? I want to know…”

Lu Hao’s heart softened, and he eventually nodded, deciding to grant her request.

Subsequently, Lu Hao played through his past life's timeline at an extremely fast speed.

The images flashed by like a revolving lantern. In those many years, every scene was filled with the deep affection between the siblings:

“Ling’er, look what I brought you?”

In the image, the brother, with a beaming smile, held a colorful woven wreath and handed it to the young Ling’er. Ling’er’s eyes lit up, and she happily took the doll, a pure smile on her face.

“Be good, Ling’er, stay at home. I’m going out to find some Cultivation resources for you.”

The brother caressed Ling’er’s head, his eyes full of doting affection, then turned and resolutely stepped into the snowstorm.

“Ling’er, you’re amazing! You actually achieved the Golden Core Realm at such a young age. You truly have a heaven-defying talent! When your Cultivation reaches Major Achievement in the future, don’t despise your brother for his weaker Cultivation, okay?”

The brother looked at Ling’er, who had made a Breakthrough in her Cultivation, his eyes filled with pride and relief.

The images continued to play rapidly, almost reduced to streaks of afterimages.

However, with Lu Hao and the Nether Immortal’s Cultivation, all the details were clearly visible.

Lu Hao saw the two of them join the Bloodcloth Hall together, and he saw his past self, in order to protect Ling’er, voluntarily ask the Elder for two tasks, taking on both by himself. Because of this unreasonable request, the Elder even forcefully demanded that he complete three tasks every three months.

Several times, he returned from missions covered in wounds.

Yet, despite this, upon returning home, he still pretended to be fine in front of Ling’er, even smilingly presenting the resources he had risked his life for, so Ling’er could Cultivate.

But once he returned to his own room, he would collapse onto the ground, unable to bear the severity of his injuries.

As he watched, Lu Hao couldn't help but frown, muttering to himself, “No, buddy, you were so good to your sister in the early stages, how did you become like that later? The change is too drastic, what exactly happened?”

Initially, Lu Hao hadn't fully believed the Nether Immortal’s account. He found it hard to imagine how a brother who had doted on his sister so much could undergo such a drastic change in personality later on.

He even suspected that the Nether Immortal’s perception was skewed, and that her stories might just be exaggerated.

But now, seeing all of this firsthand in the Three Lives Mirror, he had no choice but to believe that everything the Nether Immortal said was true.

At this moment, Lu Hao’s curiosity was completely piqued, and he began to act like a spectator enjoying gossip!

He completely regarded himself as an observer, enjoying the gossip with a clear conscience, as he believed himself to be merely a Transmigration, with no true connection to this past life’s person.

Lu Hao glanced at the Nether Immortal, only to see her completely engrossed in the images, her eyes red-rimmed and filled with distress, yet a hint of a smile inadvertently played on her lips.

Evidently, the scenes in the images had stirred her warmest memories, drawing her deep into them. Lu Hao did not disturb her, but continued to direct his gaze back to the images.

As missions were completed one after another, the timeline gradually approached the mission that led to the brother’s change in character.

The Nether Immortal’s body also began to tense up, and her Qi involuntarily seeped out again. Her emotions at this moment were like a turbulent sea, surging and powerful!

Finally, the images played up to the critical mission!

It was a seemingly ordinary mission, the objective of which was to enter a place called the “Spirit Mirage Ruins” and collect a rare resource known as “Spirit Rhinoceros Grass”.

The Spirit Mirage Ruins were extremely mysterious, said to be filled with various fantastical spaces and powerful Restrictions. A single misstep could lead to eternal damnation.

Cultivators who entered it not only had to face an endless stream of traps and mechanisms but also had to be wary of various powerful Nether Beasts.

These Nether Beasts were formidable in strength and possessed unique attack methods, so even Cultivators who had reached the Soul Transformation Realm dared not let down their guard.

The person in the image, along with the others on the mission, unhesitatingly entered the ruins.

Relying on the rich experience accumulated from so many previous missions, he initially proceeded smoothly through the ruins, skillfully avoiding one trap after another and many encounters with Nether Beasts. Even when avoidance was impossible, the battles were, thankfully, without major incident.

After a period of arduous struggle, he finally successfully collected a sufficient quantity of Spirit Rhinoceros Grass, completing the mission.

However, just as he was preparing to leave the ruins, he suddenly frowned, listening intently as if he had heard something.

So, he changed direction and walked towards the center of the ruins.

At the center of the ruins, a massive black hole vortex emanated an eerie aura, like a giant beast opening its bloody maw, ready to devour everything at any moment.

He stopped before the vortex, looking at the incredibly mysterious swirl, a conflicted expression on his resolute face. Clearly, at this very moment, he was undergoing an intense internal struggle.

After a long while, he gritted his teeth, as if having made some kind of decision, and stepped forward, walking resolutely into the black hole vortex.

The moment he stepped into the vortex, the image suddenly blurred, as if affected by some powerful force.

Lu Hao was startled and couldn't help but blurt out in confusion, “What kind of energy can interfere with the Three Lives Mirror’s ability to retrace a past life? What secrets are hidden within this black hole vortex?”

The Nether Immortal waited with extreme anxiety, her eyes fixed on the image, afraid of missing any detail. She had a subconscious feeling that what happened next would be the reason for her brother’s subsequent change!

After a moment, the Nether Immortal was growing impatient, and the image finally cleared again.

The Nether Immortal saw the scene in the image and instantly froze, then suddenly stood up, her eyes filled with disbelief and pain. She stared intensely at the image, her lips trembling, and cried out in a sharp voice, “How could it be this place?!!!”
