63: Chapter 63 Mother's Sewing Machine

On a traditional lathe, an experienced master could also machine it out after fussing around for half a day using a copy template or dividing head.

But here, Jiang Lin had only a bench vise, a few files, and a pair of his own hands.

However, he didn't rush to file the outer contour.

For a part like a cam, the central hole was the benchmark.

No matter how pretty the outer curve was, as long as the central hole was off center, once mounted on the shaft and rotated, all the lifts would become incorrect eccentric runouts.

The aperture requirement was 4 millimeters, and the mating precision requirement was extremely high, being an H7 / h6 clearance fit.

This hole could definitely not be handled solely by hand drilling with benchwork; it had to go on a drilling machine and be used with a reamer.

Jiang Lin glanced at the bench drill more than a dozen meters away.
