65: Chapter 65 Ancient Graveyard

Chapter 65: Relic Exploration: The Ancient Battlefield of Frozen Time and Space

The shackles of the world view were shattered, and a torrent called "Truth" washed over every player's soul.

Inside the floating conference hall of the "City of Liver Emperor," after the dead silence, came a deeper level of trembling and excitement.

"So... that's how it is." All Realms Connector's fat body was deeply sunken into the chairman's seat. For the first time, he didn't tap the sand table, but instead stared blankly at his fingers, which were trembling slightly from excitement.

Merchants chase profit; it is their nature.

But when the end of profit is the "sense of epic" of saving a world, this kind of reward is enough to make any capital's ambition seem petty.

"So, 'debridement surgery'..." Outlaw Zhang San adjusted his non-existent glasses, his eyes shining terrifyingly bright. "Does the Old Ancestor mean that everything we did before was just disinfection and skin preparation before 'debridement'?"

This metaphor was vulgar, yet terrifyingly accurate.

From Black Wind Stockade to the Chen family, from Night Radiance the Demon Lord to the lackeys of the Holy Land, everything they had done, rampaging and destroying, was merely to prepare for a real surgery, to clear off a clean operating table.

And the Gui Xu Spirit Eye was that "tumor" flowing with the world's origin that needed to be excised!

"This fucking... is what you call a game!" Demolition Office Director slammed his fist on the table, the alloy surface emitting a dull thud. "Before, it was changing the gold coffin for the Old Ancestor, now it's changing the future for the world! Brothers, we'll take this job!"

"Take it!"

"Let's fuck it!"

The crowd was stirred again, but this time, the fanaticism carried a trace of a heavy weight called "mission."

Just then, that ancient and vast will descended silently once more.

This time, it did not shroud the entire world, but precisely gathered on the sand table in the conference hall.

"Children, the scalpel needs sharpening."

The voice of the Old Ancestor, Lu Bei, rang directly in the minds of all the high-level guild members.

"The Gui Xu Spirit Eye is a law wound of the God Prison, and the time and space around it are chaotic, exceeding your current scope of understanding. If you enter directly, your 'respawn' mechanism might be completely erased by the chaotic time flow."

One sentence instantly cooled everyone's enthusiasm, replacing it with solemn expressions.

"Before the expedition, you need to go to a place first, to understand, to adapt, to find a... key capable of prying open time."

On the sand table, the star map left by Chief Examiner faded, replaced by a chaotic, twisted void.

A point of light flickered in the center of that void.

"This place is called the 'God-Fall Battlefield.' It is a fragment abandoned by the River of Time, where the shattered God Kingdom and the Old Day Evil God's domain interwove after a 'warden' and an 'Old Day Evil God' perished together in the Primordial Era."

"There, time is frozen. Your mission is to find the 'Anchor of Time' left by that warden on that solidified battlefield. Only it can anchor a stable 'respawn point' for you within the turbulence of the Gui Xu Spirit Eye."

The mission was clear and distinct.

"Establish an advance team!" All Realms Connector almost roared. "Highest authority! Gather the top exploration, combat, and analysis players of the entire server! Jointly led by the 'Demolition Office,' 'Holy Light,' 'Plague,' 'Rules Lawyer,' and 'Miner Boss'!"

The order was given, and the entire player community began to operate efficiently.

Half an hour later, at the central teleportation plaza of the "City of Liver Emperor," an advance team composed of three hundred top players had assembled.

Holy Light Hunk was clad in radiant gold armor, holding a greatsword, his expression solemn.

Knowing that he was the "purifying power" of the world, his entire temperament had transformed; that holy light was no longer just a simple power, but more like an embodiment of a law.

Not far away, the figure of Plague Knight - Zero squirmed in the shadows, wreathed in demonic energy.

After finding the positioning for the "bacteriophage," he was no longer gloomy, but possessed a scholar-like focus.

He was observing, thinking about how to turn the power of the "God-Fall Battlefield" to his own use.

There was a ten-meter distance between the two, yet it felt like there was an invisible battle line.

It was the continuation of the path dispute, and also a confrontation of two "therapies" under a brand-new worldview.

"Coordinates locked!" Outlaw Zhang San pushed a small cart, on which was mounted an extremely bootleg "Space Stabilizer" pieced together from countless runes and crystals. "The coordinates given by the Old Ancestor are too high-level; I can barely tear open a slit, and it will only last for three minutes! Everyone, prepare to enter!"

He pressed a spirit stone at the core.

"Hum—"

The space in the center of the plaza, like a piece of twisted glass, emitted a tooth-aching "crack" sound.

A pitch-black crack appeared out of thin air; there was no light, no wind, only a pure "nothingness" that sucked everything into it.

"Enter!"

Demolition Office Director took the lead, rushing in first with his demolition squad.

Immediately following, Holy Light Hunk and Zero set off almost simultaneously, leading their respective teams, turning into two torrents of gold and black, surging into the rift.

When the last player stepped in, the rift suddenly closed, as if it had never appeared.

...

The feeling of traversing a space rift was tearing.

But this time, after the tearing sensation, was a more eerie... "freezing."

It was as if a drop of scalding oil had dripped into liquid nitrogen.

The three hundred members of the advance team appeared on a gray-white plain.

Everyone was stunned into silence by the scene before them.

The sky was a solidified lead-gray.

There were no clouds, no sun, only huge, black glass-like space cracks, frozen in the dome.

The ground was cracked dust with a metallic luster.

And between this heaven and earth, it was a mythical-level war that had been pressed to pause.

A ten-thousand-foot-tall, six-winged golden god-man had his greatsword cleaving down on the head of a monster as massive as a mountain range, covered in twisted tentacles and countless eyeballs.

The sword tip was only three inches from the monster's skull.

Billions of golden sword qi and black demonic light, like a waterfall instantly frozen, hovered in the air, forming a magnificent, breathtaking three-dimensional scroll.

Further away, a bronze ancient god, with three heads and six arms, had its six arms grasping a star burning with black flames, poised to throw it.

Every wisp of flame jumping on that star maintained its posture from the previous second, clearly visible.

And at their feet, countless angel legions and monster armies were charging.

Some angels pointed their long spears forward, the spear tips skewering the throats of monsters; the sharpness of the spear tips and the terrified bloodshot eyes of the monsters were all frozen in the instant before eruption.

Some monsters opened their bloody maws, poison splashing from their mouths; those drops of purple-black liquid, like the most perfect artwork, floated in mid-air, and one could even see the curse runes rolling within them.

There was no sound, no energy fluctuation, no breath of life.

The entire world was a "specimen museum" made of gods and demons, vast and boundless.

"Is this... the battle between the 'warden' and the 'Old Day Evil God'?" Miner Boss muttered to himself. He wanted to knock on a piece of solidified sword qi to see what material it was, but was pulled back by Outlaw Zhang San.

"Don't move! The 'rules' here are different!" Zhang San's face was extremely solemn as he pointed not far away.

There, a curious player reached out and touched a wisp of suspended, seemingly harmless golden light.

The next second, a sudden change occurred!

That player and the space within ten meters around him were instantly erased, as if by an invisible eraser.

There was no explosion, no scream; they just disappeared out of thin air.

And in the team channel, this player's avatar turned gray instantly, followed by a cold system prompt:

[Player 'Touching won't get you pregnant' has been completely annihilated, soul imprint cannot be recalled, currently re-condensing in the world origin, estimated time: 72 hours.]

Respawn time, 72 hours!

Everyone gasped.

This was a death penalty they had never seen before!

"Understood..." Zhang San's breathing became rapid, his eyes flashing with fanatical thirst for knowledge. "Time here is frozen, but 'causality' is not! That player touched the 'afterimage' of the god-man's attack. His action triggered the 'cause,' and thus, the paused 'effect' was instantly settled on him!"

"We are currently walking on a map full of 'instant-death judgments'! Every step might trigger a fatal trap!"

These words made everyone's scalp tingle.

"Then how do we walk?" Demolition Office Director frowned; he hated this kind of restrictive environment.

"Observe." A low voice sounded.

It was Zero.

He pointed forward, to the place where the clash between the angel legions and the monster armies was most intense. "Look at those corpses, look at those broken weapons, look at the 'blank areas' not affected by any attack afterimages. That is... the safe path."

Everyone looked, and sure enough, between the gaps of the heaven-destroying attacks, there were always some lucky corpses and broken ground where there was no energy light.

These places were the "safe zones" of the previous second.

In this moment of frozen time, they became eternal "safe zones."

"I'll lead the way." Holy Light Hunk stood out. The greatsword in his hand glowed slightly, seemingly resonating with the holy aura on this battlefield. "I can feel which powers are completely dead, and which... still harbor 'killing intent'."

This was an intuition that transcended data analysis, stemming from his faction.

The advance team began to carefully traverse this battlefield where death and miracles coexisted.

They were like a group of ants walking on a three-dimensional chessboard, with a solidified sword qi storm overhead and death traps that could be triggered at any moment under their feet.

They skirted around a pitch-black magic spear that had fallen from the sky and stopped in mid-air; the destructive aura at the spear tip made everyone's skin tingle.

They passed through a field of blood-colored ice crystals floating in the air; that was the blood of some powerful existence, and in every ice crystal, a wailing soul was sealed.

As they continued to deepen, they gradually approached the center of the battlefield, the core area where the six-winged god-man was fighting the giant monster.

Outlaw Zhang San's face grew paler and paler, and the runes on his "Space Stabilizer" were flashing frantically.

"No... the space-time rules here are too chaotic, my instrument is about to overload... We must find it as soon as possible..."

Before he could finish his sentence, the situation changed again!

Holy Light Hunk, who was walking at the very front, suddenly stopped. His entire suit of golden armor was humming, emitting a shrill alarm.

"Something's wrong..." He stared fixedly ahead.

Beside the already petrified, mountain-like foot of the six-winged god-man, sat a relatively tiny skeleton.

The skeleton was also golden, wearing a set of broken armor, and propping itself up with a broken battle flag in its hand.

It seemed to be the god-man's personal guard, still guarding the god's side at the very last moment.

This was a normal scene on the battlefield.

But just as everyone was watching it, two weak, almost extinguished golden flames slowly... lit up in the empty eye sockets of the golden skeleton.

Immediately after, an ancient, weary, yet endlessly majestic consciousness swept over all the players present.

"Outsiders... why... disturb my slumber..."

Alive?

!

No, that's not right!

Outlaw Zhang San screamed: "It's not alive! It's an 'obsession'! Its obsession is too deep, so deep that it even broke through the stillness of time! It thinks we are enemies! Retreat quickly! It's about to trigger an 'causal attack'!"

However, it was too late.

The golden skeleton slowly, with an extremely difficult movement that broke billions of years of stillness, raised its only remaining bone hand.

There was no weapon in its hand.

It just pointed, gently... towards the direction of the players.

This finger had no earth-shattering power.

But in the perception of all the players, the entire world—the frozen sky, the solidified ground, the suspended sword light—was pressed the "play" button.

No, not play.

It was fast forward!

In the billions of years of time, all attacks pointing to this coordinate, all the aftermath of the fall of gods and demons, all the impacts of the collapse of laws... were "borrowed" from the River of Time by this one finger, compressed into an instant, and crashed down upon them!
