57: Chapter 57 A Little Head Peeks Through the Door: Junior Sister's Mischief!
In the guest room, the candles had long since burned halfway down, their dim yellow glow flickering and dancing against the walls.
Accompanied by the slight creaking of the red sandalwood bed, the romantic atmosphere permeating the air was almost enough to melt a person.
That priceless ice-silk robe now hung limply in tatters over Liu Qingwan's plump, fair legs, bearing witness to the storm-like conquest that had just taken place.
Just as the battle was at its peak and about to reach another summit—
"Zhiya—"
The extremely faint sound of a wooden door creaking, yet exceptionally clear in the silent night, drifted into the inner chamber through the crack from the front hall.
Gu Yi's keen Nascent Soul Stage Divine Sense instantly caught this slight movement. His originally tense back suddenly stiffened, and all his movements came to a dead stop in mid-air.
Being interrupted at the most critical moment of doing something bad, an instinctive guilt and panic surged uncontrollably up his spine. Gu Yi even felt his breathing stall for a moment.
Tonight, he had been so focused on exchanging for Black Stockings to charm Liu Qingwan that when he entered... he seemed to have forgotten to drop the heavy door bolt.
On the bed, Liu Qingwan also noticed Gu Yi's pause. She managed to gather a sliver of her scattered reason and, following Gu Yi's stiff gaze, looked dazed toward the door frame outside the screen.
The faint light from the corridor projected into the room through the door, which had been pushed open a crack.
Then, in that two-finger-wide crack, a small head with a messy hair bun and the grogginess of someone who had just woken up peeked in quietly.
It was Junior Sister Lin Wanying.
The little girl had clearly woken up in the middle of the night, found her Senior Brother missing from the next room, and followed his scent all the way here.
When Junior Sister Lin Wanying's large eyes, originally filled with a bit of grievance, saw the two people overlapping on the bed and the messy clothes scattered all over the floor through the semi-transparent silk of the screen, she froze on the spot.
The air in the guest room seemed to freeze at this moment.
Gu Yi felt his scalp go numb. His brain worked at high speed, already beginning to list a hundred high-EQ excuses to appease his little Junior Sister and explain this ridiculous scene.
He was terrified this girl would burst into tears and run out, waking everyone in the Sword Sect Inn.
The moment Liu Qingwan on the bed saw who it was, the remaining trace of lust in her mind felt as if it had been doused with a bucket of ice water, instantly freezing solid.
"Wan... Wanying?!"
A distorted exclamation squeezed out of Liu Qingwan's throat.
She was a dignified Elder of the Xuantian Sect. Usually so majestic and languid in front of the younger generation, she was now disheveled, with strange torn silk fabrics hanging from her legs, being pressed down by Gu Yi in such a shameful posture. Moreover, the one who caught them was the Sect Master's most beloved only daughter!
Liu Qingwan felt a surge of blood rush to her head, so ashamed and indignant she wished she could find a crack in the floor to crawl into.
She found a sudden burst of strength from somewhere, pushed Gu Yi half an inch away, and hurriedly grabbed the thick brocade quilt scattered nearby, pulling it directly over her head to wrap herself up tightly.
On the large bed, a trembling "silkworm cocoon" instantly appeared.
Gu Yi rubbed his brow helplessly, preparing to get up and clean up the mess.
However, the little Junior Sister outside the door crack didn't follow the script at all.
Junior Sister Lin Wanying's fair cheeks turned red at a speed visible to the naked eye, the blush spreading all the way to her crystal-clear earlobes.
But instead of running away crying, she pushed the door wide open. Without even wearing her embroidered shoes, her two bare, tender little feet stomped across the carpet as she charged straight into the inner chamber.
The possessive stubbornness in her bones completely overcame her maidenly shyness at this moment.
She ran to the bedside in a few steps, looked at Liu Qingwan who was wrapped in a ball playing dead, and then at Gu Yi, who was half-naked with a face full of helplessness. Junior Sister Lin Wanying said nothing and climbed onto the large sandalwood bed with both hands and feet.
"Senior Brother is a big liar!"
Junior Sister Lin Wanying pouted, like a little tiger guarding its territory. She lunged directly from behind, her hands tightly hugging Gu Yi's sweat-covered waist.
"You promised to only love me, but you secretly came to find Elder Liu in the middle of the night! You're biased!"
Feeling the warm, soft touch from behind and the girl's soft, waxy voice filled with jealousy and grievance, the panic in Gu Yi's heart actually calmed down, replaced by a sense of helpless amusement.
He had thought this would be a world-ending Shura Field, but he didn't expect this little girl to rush in without drawing her sword or crying, simply coming to "claim her spot" and cause trouble.
Gu Yi reached back and grabbed Junior Sister Lin Wanying's slender waist, using a bit of force to pull this bristling kitten from his back into his arms.
"Didn't Senior Brother see that you were too tired from cultivation during the day and wanted you to sleep more?" Gu Yi softened his voice, reaching out to pinch her cheek which was puffed out in anger, using his usual hair-smoothing skills. "Be good, don't make a fuss. Go back to your room first, Senior Brother will come to accompany you in a while."
"I won't!"
Junior Sister Lin Wanying took a bite of Gu Yi's shoulder. Although she didn't use much force, she left a few shallow tooth marks. She clung to Gu Yi like a koala, her watery big eyes full of stubbornness.
"I'm staying right here! Don't even think about doing bad things behind my back!"
As she spoke, she pulled a corner of the brocade quilt, wrapping herself and Gu Yi together without a word, putting on a posture of "I'm taking root here."
Gu Yi almost laughed out loud at her thick-skinned, food-guarding appearance.
At this moment, the situation on the bed became exceptionally bizarre.
On the left was the ashamed Elder Liu Qingwan, who refused to peek out from the covers even if it killed her. On the right was the little Junior Sister, hugging his arm tightly and sticking to him like a little stove.
Gu Yi's blood, which had been boiling, cooled down completely under this joyful and absurd tug-of-war. Further deep communication was clearly impossible; Liu Qingwan's current ostrich-like behavior suggested that even touching her would make her self-combust from shame.
"Fine, fine, everything as you wish, my little ancestor."
Gu Yi sighed, but a doting smile flashed in his eyes. He gave up the idea of continuing the antics tonight and lay flat in the center of the bed.
He extended his left arm and gently patted Liu Qingwan's slightly trembling back through the quilt, giving the disgraced Elder a silent comfort. His right hand tightly held the little Junior Sister in his arms, who was still huffing, and he rested his chin on the top of her soft head.
"Since no one wants to leave, then we'll all sleep together." Gu Yi deliberately put on a stern face and threatened with a sleepy voice, "If anyone moves again, Senior Brother will have to use the family rules."
Hearing this, Junior Sister Lin Wanying wasn't afraid but instead burrowed deeper into Gu Yi's arms, a victorious, cunning smile finally curling her lips. She hugged Gu Yi's arm tightly like a child who had kept her favorite toy and closed her eyes contentedly.
The "silkworm cocoon" Liu Qingwan on the side still didn't make a sound, but a faint snort, filled with a mix of annoyance and relief, came from under the covers.
