8: Chapter 8: Superficial Confinement, Actually a Honeymoon?
The heavy Dragon-Severing stone door of the inner chamber in the Guanghan Cave Heaven emitted a low, mechanical grinding sound.
Gu Yi's slender palm pressed against the icy stone wall, about to push open the last sliver of the gap.
The night wind outside, mixed with the unique chill of the main peak, slipped in through the crack, brushing against his white hem. He took a deep breath of the cold air, his mind quickly calculating his upcoming itinerary.
Guhan Cliff was remote and had a harsh environment, but its greatest advantage was that it bordered the outer perimeter of the Sect's back mountain. Going there to meditate and serve punishment would allow him to radiate his Divine Sense and quietly wait for that "treasure-seeking rat," Lin Tian, to walk right into his trap.
As for the Revered Master behind him, the immortal maiden jade dew and the Qi of Chaos he had fed her over the past few days had not been in vain; not only had most of the nine yin cold poison been removed, but their relationship had also eased significantly. Once he settled down at Guhan Cliff and the heat died down, he would just find an opportunity to sneak back and continue "treating her injuries."
"Stop!"
A cold, delicate shout, mixed with a hint of urgency and annoyance, rang out abruptly in the silent Immortal Cave, its tail end even carrying an imperceptible tremble.
Gu Yi's hand on the stone door paused slightly.
He turned his head, raised an eyebrow slightly, and a flash of astonishment crossed his eyes.
In the middle of the night, he had already "acted with great righteousness" and retreated for the sake of her reputation; what else could this icy Revered Master want?
On the dark ice jade bed, Fei Yuechan bit her lower lip tightly.
That wisp of night wind that had just snuck in through the door crack had brushed against her cheek, and that long-lost, bone-chilling cold instantly awakened the deep-seated fear of the nine yin cold poison within her.
Looking at Gu Yi's perplexed gaze, Fei Yuechan's heart was in turmoil.
She dared not look directly into those eyes and could only try her best to straighten her back, attempting to regain the dignity of a Peak Revered Master, but her pretty face, which had just been nourished by the immortal maiden jade dew to a rosy white, was now covered in an extremely unnatural blush.
"You Rebellious Disciple, you are naturally unruly and act without any method; where is the slightest thought of respecting your Revered Master in your heart?"
She took a deep breath, her voice as cold as tempered ice, though her speaking speed was much faster than usual.
"Although Guhan Cliff is austere, it is unguarded. If you are allowed to serve your punishment there alone, who knows what kind of trouble you, a bold and reckless Disciple, might cause that would bring shame to the Sect's reputation?"
Gu Yi blinked, unable to respond for a moment.
"The cold poison in my body has not been completely eradicated, and remaining in this empty Immortal Cave is of no benefit."
Fei Yuechan turned her face away, looking at the flickering glow of the night-luminescent pearl, as if trying hard to convince herself, her voice becoming increasingly stern: "To prevent you from corrupting the Sect style of my Lanyue Peak again, I have decided... to go to Guhan Cliff myself and supervise your punishment day and night!"
The moment her words fell, the entire inner chamber fell into a deathly silence.
Gu Yi stood stunned on the spot, looking at the haughty Revered Master on the bed who was clearly trembling with cold at her fingertips yet still forcing a pretense of "I am doing this for the sake of the Sect's great cause."
A trace of absurd yet uncontrollable amusement gradually spread in his eyes.
He had originally intended to use the excuse of the patrolling Disciples outside to go to Guhan Cliff first to set up camp and do his work, while also letting his Revered Master calm down for a few days.
He didn't expect that this icy Revered Master would develop a taste for it, and her reliance on him far exceeded expectations; in order to follow him, she had actually concocted an excuse as outrageous as "personally going to the wall-facing cliff to supervise."
[Ding!]

"I truly cannot repay the Revered Master's painstaking efforts toward this Disciple, even if I were to be crushed to pieces."
He let go of the door, turned around, and very cooperatively put on an expression of overwhelmed gratitude. Gu Yi strode forward, taking three steps in two, and walked back to the dark ice jade bed.
"Since Revered Master insists on fulfilling the duty of guidance, and the night is deep and windy, and your cultivation has not yet recovered, the mountain road is rugged; allow this Disciple to serve you as we go."
After saying this, without giving Fei Yuechan any chance to refuse, Gu Yi unceremoniously stretched out his iron arms, passed them under her knees and back, and lifted her horizontally from the ice surface.
"You... presumptuous! I can walk myself!"
With her feet suddenly leaving the ground, Fei Yuechan let out a suppressed, short exclamation, her hands subconsciously pressing against Gu Yi's broad, scorching chest.
"If Revered Master walks too slowly and is bumped into by those patrolling Disciples just now, I fear your excuse of 'personal supervision' will be hard to explain."
Gu Yi lowered his head, his scorching breath spraying onto her sensitive earlobe, his tone revealing a hint of unbridled mockery.
Fei Yuechan's delicate body stiffened, and all her struggles vanished instantly. She bit her teeth in humiliation and could only bury her burning cheeks deep into the crook of Gu Yi's neck, playing dead like an ostrich.
Gu Yi smiled silently and circulated the Yin Yang Great Compassion Sutra within his body; a warm and gentle heat of Chaos flowed continuously from his chest into Fei Yuechan's body, dispelling the freezing cold of the outside world entirely.
Carrying his Revered Master, he strode out of the Guanghan Cave Heaven and stepped into the night.
The mountain path of Lanyue Peak wound and twisted, and the verdant purple bamboo on both sides rustled in the night wind.
A crescent moon hung in the sky, casting a cold, silvery radiance.
Gu Yi's footsteps were extremely light, the power of his Creation Immortal Body allowing him to walk on the rugged mountain road as if it were flat ground. Holding a beautiful and enchanting Nascent Soul Cultivator in his arms, she felt as light as a feather.
They walked to a corner halfway up the mountain.
Ahead, a series of very subtle footsteps, accompanied by the faint light of a wind-proof lantern, were slowly approaching.
"This damn weather, it's getting colder and colder."
"Let's finish patrolling this half of the peak quickly; we don't need to go to Guhan Cliff. Anyway, the Senior Brother is there facing the wall, and there isn't even a ghost of a shadow in that place."
It was those two Outer Sect Disciples responsible for patrolling the main peak at night.
Fei Yuechan's heartbeat, which had just calmed down, instantly soared to the extreme.
In her current state, wearing only a thin outer robe, not only did she have no magical power, but she was also ambiguously curled up in the arms of a Disciple she had just severely punished. If they were seen, she might as well just jump off this Lanyue Peak!
"Gu... Gu Yi..."
Fei Yuechan lowered her voice, her tone filled with unprecedented panic and helplessness, her two small hands clutching tightly onto the lapels of Gu Yi's chest, her nails almost sinking into his flesh.
Looking at his Revered Master, who was like a frightened bird in his arms, Gu Yi did not hide; instead, he stopped directly.
He stood quite openly under a shallow shadow of a tree in the middle of the mountain path.
Fei Yuechan's eyes were red with anxiety, and she desperately wanted to pull Gu Yi to hide in the bushes on the side.
Gu Yi backhanded her cold, soft hand, pressed it slightly with force, and pressed her cheek more tightly against his chest.
"Shh—Revered Master, do not panic."
Gu Yi lowered his head, his voice as soft as the wind, "With the protection of my Disciple's concealment Formation, even if they stare until their eyeballs bleed, they won't be able to see a single hem of your clothes."
As his words fell, Gu Yi moved his mind slightly, and his breath-concealing technique operated at full power. An invisible field of Chaos, like an inverted bowl, perfectly blended their figures and auras into the night and the bamboo shadows.
The two Disciples carrying lanterns walked past them at a distance of less than three feet, rubbing their hands and chatting. The dim, yellow light even swept across the moon-white skirt hem that Fei Yuechan trailed behind her.
Fei Yuechan bit her lower lip tightly, holding her breath, not daring to even blink her eyelids. She could clearly smell the inferior sandalwood scent on the two Disciples and hear the rustling sound of them stepping on fallen leaves.
Right in this situation where social death could occur at any moment.
Gu Yi's hand, which was wrapped around her waist, moved naturally and slowly up along her back, finally stopping at her fair, slender nape. His fingertips, carrying a touch of soothing and teasing, gently rubbed along the contour of her cervical spine.
Fei Yuechan's body trembled, and a strong sense of numbness rushed from her tailbone straight to the top of her skull.
She wanted to scold him, but hindered by the patrolling Disciples within arm's reach, she swallowed the soft moan back into her stomach, and could only glare fiercely at Gu Yi with her beautiful eyes filled with shame, anger, and mist.
Until the backs of the two Disciples completely disappeared at the end of the mountain path.
Fei Yuechan's tense body finally collapsed softly into Gu Yi's arms, gasping for the cold air in large gulps.
"Madman... you death-defying madman..."
"Is it exciting, Revered Master?"
Gu Yi chuckled, bounced her slightly in his arms, and continued to stride forward.
The two walked all the way, and the surrounding scenery became increasingly desolate. The originally verdant bamboo forest was replaced by craggy, strange rocks, the temperature in the air dropped sharply, and the biting cold wind howled like knife cuts.
Fei Yuechan subconsciously shrank into Gu Yi's arms; even with the protection of the Chaos field, the desolation and coldness derived from her vision still made her feel uncomfortable.
Gu Yi, however, seemed to be familiar with the road, and did not walk toward the bare cliff wall, but carried her, winding and turning, straight toward a hidden canyon at the deepest part of the cliff bottom.
As they went deeper, the surrounding air began to become humid, and a light, elegant scent of sulfur permeated the air.
At the end of the line of sight ahead, white water mist was rising and curling.
A natural, open-air hot spring, born from the fire veins deep underground, appeared abruptly in this icy world. The spring water was crystal clear, with small bubbles constantly rolling, emitting an alluring warmth.
Gu Yi carried Fei Yuechan to the side of the hot spring pool and carefully placed her on a smooth, warm stone.
"The scenery of this Guhan Cliff actually has a unique charm."
Gu Yi looked at the rolling spring water in front of him, then turned his head to look at the beautiful woman beside him who was still somewhat shaken.
"Revered Master, the night wind is bone-piercing."
As he spoke, he raised his hand very naturally, his slender fingers pinching the edge of the moon-white sash at Fei Yuechan's waist.
"This open-air hot spring water is smooth and washes over delicate skin, which happens to be able to help you soothe your Meridians. Tonight, let us 'reflect on our mistakes' in this water properly, how about it?"
