90: Chapter 90 Yang Qiu, the Silent Dog

"Brother Wu said there's a lead on what happened before."

Xu Qingfang and the others sat around the campfire.

Yue Yun took out his phone to check the message Wu Di had sent, which listed the things Yan Xun had done since arriving in Jianghai City.

It specifically mentioned a secretary named Yang Qiu.

Although Xu Qingfang and the others had no impression of him, it was he who had blacklisted Yue Yun through the Jianghai City Administration Bureau System, causing Yue Yun's distress signal to go unreceived.

"Was he also sent by the Chen family?"

Xue Qin scratched her head: "Other than blacklisting Yue Yun, he didn't do anything else. It was completely ineffective."

"That's assuming Old Yue survived that night."

Xu Qingfang was well aware of how dangerous that night had been.

Between the Three-Star Beast Tamer and the sniper hiding in the shadows, if Yue Yun hadn't had someone protecting him, he likely wouldn't have survived until today.

It was evident that Yang Qiu was the sharpest blade of all!

Yue Yun also became vigilant.

As the saying goes, the dog that bites doesn't bark.

Someone like Yang Qiu, who silently shoots cold arrows, is far more terrifying than Yan Xun, who plays with his cards face up. He is often impossible to guard against.

"However, there is still good news."

Yue Yun opened the address attached to Wu Di's message: "Yang Qiu is currently still in Jianghai City and won't be leaving until after the New Year."

Mo Yu's eyes lit up when he heard this.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go to where he's staying right now to stake it out and find an opportunity to capture him and interrogate him!"

"Count me in!"

Xu Qingfang hurriedly interjected.

He hadn't been included in the matter involving Professor Qi Yao and the others.

So, he had to be included in this business with Yang Qiu.

Xue Qin's face was filled with horror.

Her gaze swept over the three of them; there was not a hint of hesitation on their faces, only the excitement of people about to do something bad.

"Pan Zi is right, you three are a gang!"

Xue Qin couldn't help but swallow hard.

Her intuition told her that sooner or later, she would see these three guys on the news, and by then, they'd be singing the "Tears of the Iron Window."

Xu Qingfang and the other two didn't care.

"Boss Xue, we'll leave this to you!"

They left the barbecue stall with Xue Qin and rushed off the river embankment, heading toward the location Wu Di had sent.

Leaving Xue Qin alone, bewildered in the wind.

...

Jianghai Hotel.

Xu Qingfang and the two others walked in with their hands in their pockets, looking like loitering street thugs who had stumbled upon the place, and barged in without ceremony.

Xu Qingfang rubbed his hands, ready to do something big.

"Where exactly is he staying?"

"The top-floor suite."

"Living so well, he must be a corrupt official!"

Mo Yu made a prompt decision, leading Xu Qingfang and Yue Yun into the shadows, where they took out bandit masks that only revealed their eyes and mouths and put them on.

Xu Qingfang was already used to it.

"Look, this is what you call professional!"

"Indeed!"

Yue Yun also calmly accepted Mo Yu's actions.

The three of them put on their bandit masks, but instead of climbing the stairs, they openly took the elevator up.

"Are we just going over like this?"

Yue Yun tugged at his bandit mask: "I don't think this is safe enough. Let's get some of those Thousand-Sound Cicada wings from last time."

Xu Qingfang looked at the two of them curiously.

Mo Yu, however, shook his head.

He had a mature plan: "No need. He doesn't know us anyway. Using the Thousand-Sound Cicada wings to change our voices would be a bit like trying to cover up something, and besides, we have leverage in our hands.

Let's go knock on the door first. If Yang Qiu is there, we'll take action immediately. If he's not, we'll sneak in early and set an ambush."

The elevator arrived at the top floor of the hotel.

Mo Yu walked straight to the suite to demonstrate.

Ding!

He pressed the doorbell properly, standing before the door like a professional waiter, respectfully waiting for the room owner to open it.

After a brief wait, the speaker at the door activated.

Yang Qiu's puzzled voice sounded: "What is it?"

"Mr. Yang, room service."

Even though he was wearing a bandit mask, Mo Yu spoke with a smile on his face, which caused Yang Qiu to fall into a brief silence.

He seemed unable to understand why there would be room service on New Year's Eve, and provided by three grown men at that.

He bluntly refused: "Not needed! I don't need any room service, and I don't want to be disturbed again. If you dare to come back, I'll file a complaint against your hotel."

After a pause, Yang Qiu added.

Mo Yu chuckled and shook his head.

Like a magic trick, he pulled a room card from his pocket and gently swiped it over the card reader, unlocking the door: "That's not up to you!"

Yang Qiu was stunned to see this.

Before he could react, the door was forced open. Tall figures, accompanied by a biting cold wind, rushed into the room with incredible speed and subdued Yang Qiu, who was on the sofa, right where he sat.

Only then did Yang Qiu snap back to reality.

"What are you doing? I'm from the Imperial Capital!"

Suddenly pinned down, he spoke sternly, not forgetting to bring up his status as an official from the Imperial Capital, attempting to scare off these three bandits.

No one paid him any attention.

Mo Yu crouched down halfway and placed the burning Desert Magic Scorpion dung block near Yang Qiu's nose and mouth, scaring him into holding his breath immediately.

Yang Qiu didn't know what this was.

But his good sense of crisis warned him not to inhale the scent of this thing, lest something go wrong.

Unfortunately, he had encountered the Three Heavenly Kings of the gang.

Xu Qingfang took out a lighter and used the flame to sear Yang Qiu's armpit. The pain made him squirm like a loach, and he gasped in several large mouthfuls of the scent of the burning dung block.

"Awesome!"

Yue Yun was also filled with admiration.

He released his grip and stopped restraining Yang Qiu. Yang Qiu slumped to the floor as if his spine had been removed. He could only shift his eyes to look out of the corners, trying to figure out the identities of the three men.

"Who on earth are you?"

He managed to wheeze out the question with great difficulty.

Mo Yu pulled out that fake ID again and displayed it with great pomp: "Secret Inspection Division of the Administration Bureau!"

As expected, Yang Qiu was confused.

Xu Qingfang turned to close the door, then began to search the room carefully, refusing to let any detail slip by.

Yue Yun took the cloth strip from Mo Yu, understood, and wrapped it around Yang Qiu's eyes, then helped him, now unable to see, onto the sofa.

Mo Yu sat opposite Yang Qiu to conduct the interrogation.

I have to say, it really looked the part.

Just with those few simple actions, Yang Qiu was bluffed into being half-believing, and could only put on an appearance of cooperation.

"What are you searching for?"

"Evidence, or rather, proof of guilt!"

Mo Yu struck a pose, letting out a hum with a slight nasal tremor.

At the same time, he quickly browsed through his script: "What is hidden in the Jianghai City Administration Bureau's System that makes it worth you running all the way from the Imperial Capital just to tamper with it a little?"

Yang Qiu suddenly calmed down.

It was as if he had long realized his actions would be discovered, and had even guessed that the person who would come would be Yue Yun.

"Chen Tianrui transferred my son to a better class to enjoy better educational resources. I only needed to help him blacklist Yue Yun temporarily. This was a very worthwhile deal."

Yang Qiu spoke in a calm tone, as if he were hiding nothing.

His answer was logically self-consistent and seemed to perfectly explain everything he had done as stemming entirely from his deal with Chen Tianrui.

But that was exactly the problem.

His answer was too perfect!

Mo Yu narrowed his eyes, a grim smile spreading across his lips: "You mean to say you ran all the way from the Imperial Capital just because of a deal with Chen Tianrui... Are you treating us at the Administration Bureau like fools, or do you think we wouldn't self-audit our System?"
