36: Chapter 36 Master Li, Instructor Liu, we've arrived at Li Family Village!

Two days later.

Zhang Qianlü returned from Xinan County.

He brought with him the family of the master he had invited, as well as an Instructor.

The group arrived in a horse-drawn carriage.

Zhang Qianlü and the Instructor sat on either side of the carriage shafts, with the Instructor responsible for driving.

The master sat inside the carriage with his wife and child.

“Gentlemen, please do not take offense,”

On the way, Zhang Qianlü had been constantly apologizing to the people in the carriage. “Our Li Clan has only recently settled here. Along the way, we lost most of our family possessions, so the conditions in the clan will certainly not be as good as in the city.”

“Furthermore, there are many rough sorts in the clan, and the young children are mischievous. It also happens to be a time where everything is waiting to be rebuilt, and everyone is busy reconstructing the clan lands. If there is any neglect, I hope you two can be patient with us!”

“Young Master Zhang, you are being too polite,” Master Li's voice came from inside the carriage. “The salary you offered is not low, and you have said these things several times before. There is no need to repeat them again and again.”

He couldn't help but chuckle. “Instead, your repeated apologies make me suspicious. Are you afraid that once we arrive and see how desolate Li Family Village is, we will abandon you and leave?”

“Exactly, Young Master Zhang, what are you talking about?” Liu Shenyou, who had been invited to be the Instructor, also laughed. “You already informed us before we came.”

Since they had decided to come, they certainly wouldn't turn back just because Li Family Village wasn't as prosperous as the city.

Liu Shenyou had already given the Relocation Fee Zhang Qianlü provided to his sixth uncle.

If he regretted it at the last moment and turned back, would he have the nerve to ask for the money back from his sixth uncle?

He couldn't afford to lose face like that!

The Master Li inside the carriage was likely in a similar situation.

Perhaps even more without a way out than him.

After all, although Liu Shenyou had run away from home in the Prefecture City, if he were willing to swallow his pride and go back to beg his sixth uncle, he would at least have a place to stay.

This Master Li had brought his wife and child and, like him, came from the Prefecture City, but he didn't even have a place to stay in Xinan County.

Crucially, for some reason, this man hadn't brought any money with him.

So this was perfect; Li Family Village not only offered a high salary but was also willing to provide free food and lodging.

What more was there to say?

More importantly, Young Master Zhang said their clan had a Legacy.

Both in Martial Arts and literary fortune.

And it was agreed that if they were willing to come, they could study the clan's library collection and Martial Arts Cultivation Methods alongside them.

This was a great thing!

If it weren't for his sixth uncle being well-informed in Xinan County, this good fortune might not have fallen into their laps.

“So, Young Master Zhang, rest assured. As long as you keep your word, I won't leave even if there isn't a place to live. At worst, I'll just dig a cellar.”

Liu Shenyou laughed heartily. “Those cellars are warm in winter and cool in summer!”

Li Mingyu also laughed and said, “My family can't do that; we at least need half a thatched hut.”

Though they spoke this way, none of them believed the situation in Li Family Village could be that bad.

After all, it was claimed that everyone in the clan was literate and even the children were practicing martial arts.

Judging by their spirit, they didn't look like people who were poorly clothed or starving.

No matter how bad the situation was, surely they would have a place to shield them from the wind and rain?

Besides, while outside the city, they heard that the fields had been cleared and crops had been planted.

The houses should be built by now as well.

“Haha, how could we let you live in a cellar? There will definitely be a proper place to stay,” Zhang Qianlü said with a bit of a guilty conscience.

He said it, but he had no confidence in his heart.

When he left for Xinan County, everyone in the clan was still living in thatched sheds.

What Li Family Village?

That was a name he had made up on the spot when these two masters asked where they were going.

So technically, they didn't even have a formal name for the settlement!

It had been several days now; he didn't know if the houses had been built.

Zhang Qianlü felt nervous.

As long as they had dug some foundations and made it look like it was halfway built, he would have something to say.

Anyway, he had given the Relocation Fee and brought the people here. When the time came, he'd say some nice things; as long as it was tolerable, these two wouldn't just turn around and leave.

Master Li was right about one thing: he was indeed afraid they wouldn't stay.

Because only with these two taking over the duties of teaching and guiding the martial arts could the Divine Lord possibly allow him to go seek a master and Cultivate as an immortal!

If these two couldn't stay, he didn't know how much longer it would take to find another master and Instructor.

Finding these two was also a stroke of Luck.

One must know that in a place like Xinan County, there weren't many people who were literate and well-versed in literature.

Their Young Lord had also made an outrageous demand, insisting on someone with an official rank and literary fortune.

At that time, Zhang Qianlü wanted to kowtow to him and ask him to just say so if he wanted to block his path to cultivation, rather than being so cruel.

Having literary fortune and an official rank...

In all of Xinan County, you could count them on your fingers; you wouldn't even need your toes.

Even more excessive was that the Young Lord wanted them to be proficient in arithmetic.

He said that for those who weren't cut out for literature or martial arts, if they learned arithmetic well, they could still have a future.

He certainly considered everything thoroughly.

But couldn't he consider Zhang Qianlü's situation?

Such people, not to mention having houses and land at home, certainly wouldn't run to their clan to teach just for a bit of salary.

The martial Instructor also had to be young, able to command respect, and at least at the third rank of martial arts.

Moreover, their Aptitude couldn't be too poor, as they needed to be able to Cultivate and improve alongside the clan to avoid needing a replacement too soon.

This was no easier to find than a master with literary fortune!

This isn't Ningan Prefecture!

Perhaps seeing that his expression was too grim, the Young Lord reluctantly said to just find someone to start teaching first, and if they weren't good enough, they could find better ones later.

“However, I wonder if it's because the Young Lord's Luck is extraordinary, but I actually ran into exactly what he wanted,”

Zhang Qianlü thought to himself, “Perhaps the fact that the Young Lord could be taken as an adopted son by the Divine Lord is related to this.”

It really was a coincidence.

Master Li's family and Instructor Liu were not locals of Xinan County.

They came from the Prefecture City.

It was said they didn't know each other before and only teamed up at the city gate after leaving the Prefecture City.

Master Li and his family didn't know where to go, and hearing that Instructor Liu was going to Xinan County to visit relatives, they followed along.

Furthermore, they all had clean backgrounds and Identification Papers; they only came to the county for a temporary stay due to family misfortunes.

Instructor Liu was also the nephew of Head Liu, the City Gate Official.

The person was also introduced by Head Liu.

He perfectly met Tiger Young Master's requirements.

This was also Zhang Qianlü's good fortune!

“Once I return this time, my entry into the immortal sect will surely be successful!”

This was the thing he dreamed of most.

He didn't expect it to be achieved so quickly.

The only thing to worry about was the state of the clan lands.

Old Clan Leader, please, please don't let me be embarrassed!

...

A short while later.

They gradually approached the Li Clan's settlement.

Zhang Qianlü's eyes grew brighter and brighter.

“Is this Li Family Village?” Liu Shenyou couldn't help but say. “There are actually so many people? How lively!”
