170: Chapter 170 Exorbitant Tickets, Requisition of Cargo Ships

Ocean University.

A large number of students from out of town were currently lining up to buy cargo ship tickets from the Oceanic Group because they hadn't been able to secure any other transportation out of Zhujiang City.

According to the Oceanic Group's statement.

As long as the seawater backflowed and the draft reached five meters, the cargo ships at the port could sail directly over.

The Oceanic Group still had over a dozen ocean-going cargo ships at Zhujiang Port that hadn't sailed out yet.

Each cargo ship could accommodate at least five hundred people.

They also had sufficient food supplies on board.

This would allow people to float at sea for about half a month.

But the problem was.

Ocean University had a total of over ten thousand students.

As the queue grew longer and longer.

Everyone suddenly realized that the ticket price had actually skyrocketed from around ten thousand to nearly fifty thousand.

Even then.

As people started cutting in line, the price trend showed no signs of stopping.

"Don't panic, everyone, don't panic. I now announce that the price has risen from fifty thousand per ticket to one hundred thousand per ticket."

At the very front of the long queue was the Oceanic Group's office.

A familiar figure stood at the front, shouting loudly through a megaphone.

This person was none other than Yang Wei.

As the crown prince of the Oceanic Group, he could naturally deploy his family's cargo ships.

With this ocean expansion, his family had lost quite a bit; the daily losses from suspended operations amounted to tens of millions.

To reduce losses, they planned to sell boat tickets.

He had initially worried that no one would buy them, but now he found that these tickets were incredibly easy to sell.

So he made a prompt decision and immediately doubled the ticket price.

At fifty thousand per ticket, a thousand people only brought in fifty million.

But at one hundred thousand per ticket, a thousand people meant a hundred million.

And Ocean University had over ten thousand people; this was a 'small goal' that would be enough to compensate for the losses from the suspension.

However.

As soon as these words were spoken, the crowd exploded.

"Holy crap, you bastard, you just doubled it!"

"This is too much! You're profiting from a national disaster!"

"Fifty thousand was the most my parents could send me; there's no more!"

"Report this kid!"

The crowd's indignation was boiling.

One girl was so angry she couldn't help but pull out a Sophie pad and throw it at Yang Wei.

Yang Wei was so startled that he quickly hid behind his bodyguards.

He held the megaphone and shouted, "Students, don't get excited. I can't help it either; there are only about five thousand tickets!"

"How about this: the first batch will be one hundred thousand per ticket, and the second batch will be fifty thousand. You'll just have to wait a while!"

At these words, even more sanitary pads were thrown his way.

The seawater had to backflow at least five meters before the cargo ships could sail in.

For a cargo ship to reach other cities, it would have to move slowly along with the seawater, which would take at least a day.

By the time it returned, Zhujiang City would have a draft depth of at least a dozen meters.

Except for some skyscrapers, most buildings would be submerged.

Who the hell has time to stay here and wait for death?

What second batch!

What's the difference between that and waiting to die?

Yang Wei calmly removed a sanitary pad from his head and said, "These are my family's rules. If you're not satisfied, go find yourself a flying ship if you're so capable!"

The crowd was about to let out a torrent of abuse.

Just then.

A wild wind swept down from the sky.

Everyone was startled.

They all looked up.

Then they saw five Horse Terracotta Warriors pulling a fishing boat, hovering over the playground.

"Holy crap! Aliens?"

"What aliens? Isn't that printed with pearl river 888... Holy crap, a flying fishing boat?"

"Is it the latest black technology from the Longke Academy?"

"It must be! See those tall mecha-men? Two or three meters tall—they must be Heavenly Soldiers and Generals!"

"Why are there horses?"

"What's so strange about Heavenly Soldiers and Generals riding horses?"

"That's great! We're saved! We're saved!"

After their initial shock, the crowd became excited.

They all gathered beneath the small fishing boat.

At that moment.

Jiang Chen, who was more than three meters above the ground, leaped into the air and landed on the floor.

"Everyone, do not panic. In my capacity as a warship, I guarantee that I will lead everyone away safely!"

Jiang Chen reassured the crowd.

When he had just flown over Ocean University, the scanning system had picked up Yang Wei.

The system showed that this kid was actually selling sky-high priced boat tickets.

This made Jiang Chen frown, feeling that something was wrong.

Hadn't this kid been taken away by the Longan Department?

Although he didn't know how many years the other party had been sentenced to, there was no way he could have been released in less than half a year.

As for the sky-high tickets, that was even more absurd.

Not to mention the large number of warships ready to go at the port; these hundred-thousand-yuan tickets were definitely a case of profiting from a national disaster!

Not far away, Yang Wei was also startled when he saw a fishing boat fly down.

When he saw clearly that the newcomer was Jiang Chen.

He was even more surprised.

He hurried over, but heard Jiang Chen saying something about a 'warship capacity'.

He frowned and spoke up, "What warship capacity? It's just a fishing boat. Stop pretending to be a naval vessel!"

Hearing this, Jiang Chen directly pulled out his small army-green booklet.

"Dragon Cry Aircraft Carrier Fleet, Brigade-level Warship Commission!"

"Open your dog eyes and see if this is a fake."

The crowd gathered around; it bore the insignia of the Dragon Cry.

Everyone present was a student of Ocean University.

How could they not recognize a warship insignia?

They all gave thumbs up: "Holy crap, it really is an aircraft carrier fleet commission!"

"How is that possible? You must have forged it!" Yang Wei's heart skipped a beat when he saw the Dragon Cry insignia. Forging an aircraft carrier insignia was a one-way ticket to prison, so he was 100% sure Jiang Chen wouldn't dare fake it.

However.

That 100% certainty made Yang Wei a little panicked.

When did this kid join an aircraft carrier fleet?

Jiang Chen stepped forward with a slight smile: "Whether I'm forging it or not, you'll find out very soon."

"Furthermore, you are suspected of taking advantage of a national disaster to make a fortune. That's at least ten years as a starting point."

"Also, regarding that matter with the minors on the cargo ship from before—that's a minimum of twenty years. How did you get out?"

When Yang Wei heard about the cargo ship incident, his eyes widened: "Damn it, was it you who reported me?"

"It's called eliminating a public pest."

"You're dead meat."

Jiang Chen looked at him coldly.

Yang Wei panicked; his family had spent a fortune to get him out.

And now he was going back in.

He couldn't accept it.

He turned around.

Wanting to escape.

However.

Just then.

A bolt of thunder struck out of thin air.

Yang Wei screamed, fell to the ground, and fainted.

The surrounding students were startled.

"Whoa, it's broad daylight, why is there thunder?"

"This is the consequence of profiting from a national disaster— a bolt from the blue."

"Good strike, Heavens!"

Everyone cheered the strike.

Then they hurriedly asked Jiang Chen: "Great Warship Expert, when will you take us away from Zhujiang?"

Although this small fishing boat was high-tech.

It was, after all, a bit small.

To transport all ten thousand students of Ocean University, it was still not enough.

"Don't worry, Yang Wei's family's cargo ships will be commandeered immediately. It won't cost you a penny."

Jiang Chen spoke.

"That's wonderful!"

"But Yang Wei's family's cargo ships only seem able to carry about five thousand people. There are still five thousand left."

The crowd raised the issue again.

Even if it was free, the capacity was still insufficient.

"No rush, the country will not abandon a single person."

Jiang Chen reassured everyone. He took out his communicator, preparing to contact Tie Zhu, the commander of the Tongtian Aircraft Carrier at the port.
