210: Chapter 210 Antarctic Conference, Eavesdropping Under the Bed

"Do you mean that in our country's ancient past, there might have existed an unknown, high-tech civilization?"

Upon hearing Jiang Chen's wild idea, Xue Yao's eyes lit up.

All this time, she had assumed that ancient Dragon Kingdom was merely a small-scale agrarian society. But after Jiang Chen's prompting, she suddenly wondered if, as one of the world's oldest civilizations, Dragon Kingdom might have had some bored aristocrats who created strange and bizarre things, only for them not to catch on because they consumed too many resources.

"That's just my speculation."

Jiang Chen smiled slightly. In truth, ever since he learned about the Southern Heavenly Gate's Organization inheritance plan from the Terracotta Warriors, he knew that a high-tech civilization had existed in secret in ancient Dragon Kingdom.

And it had been passed down continuously.

It was just limited to a small group of people.

"That's truly fascinating."

Xue Yao suddenly felt a spark of interest in archaeology.

Jiang Chen stopped smiling and continued to stare at the Lizard Queen, murmuring, "As for this Lizard Queen, she has lived on Earth for over a thousand years. Since she doesn't dare to face us head-on, doesn't that suggest she hasn't evolved?"

"Why would you think she could evolve?" Xue Yao asked, puzzled.

Jiang Chen said, "Don't supernatural biological entities evolve normally? From B-sequence to A-sequence, and then to S-sequence, the strongest should be Super S."

"Our current state is Super S."

"This Lizard Queen just fled in the Lighthouse. I suspect she is at most a Super S and isn't much stronger than us."

Xue Yao shook her head. "Is it possible that Super S is the limit, and she can't evolve any further? So she left?"

"Perhaps. But this also points to a huge crisis," Jiang Chen said gravely.

"What?"

"That Ascension Star was able to transport people to Earth from four light-years away 1,500 years ago. Now, 1,500 years have passed… their technology must have reached a Level 2 or even Level 3 civilization state by now, right?" Jiang Chen said with some concern.

If the Ascension Star followed an evolutionary path, it would mean they evolve very slowly; after nearly two thousand years, the Lizard Queen still hasn't exceeded the S-sequence by much.

But if they followed a technological path… after more than a thousand years, who knows how powerful they have become.

"It's highly likely to be a technological path. Look at this lizard; it's lived for thousands of years, hasn't it? Without some genetic technology, that wouldn't be possible," Xue Yao said.

"Yes. We must report this to our superiors immediately. It's too dangerous; we must find an opportunity to destroy the Lighthouse."

Thinking of this, Jiang Chen immediately contacted Commander Tang Ze at the Naval Department Base and explained the crisis he and Xue Yao had deduced.

Commander Tang Ze was currently in the country, preparing for the Antarctic continent conference. They hadn't really paid much attention to the fleeing Lighthouse, assuming it had just left for space. But upon hearing about the Ascension Star, he furrowed his brow.

"Has this Lizard Queen lived for that long?"

Commander Tang Ze's heart skipped a beat.

The Ascension Star was able to send the Lizard Queen here 1,500 years ago; they could probably do it again now, right?

Although he didn't know exactly how long it would take, it would be troublesome if the Lizard Queen managed to return.

With humanity's current level of technology, they certainly couldn't defeat the Ascension Star.

"I am aware of the situation. I will report this to my superiors immediately and track down the Lighthouse."

"By the way, there is one more thing. The country is going to hold an Antarctic conference at the Great Wall Scientific Research Station. You two should send a representative to attend. This is historically significant; you must go!"

Jiang Chen and Xue Yao were stunned. "An Antarctic conference? What kind of conference is this?"

"The purpose is a new world order."

"The name of this order is the Antarctic Scientific Research Station System."

After saying this, Commander Tang Ze hurriedly hung up the communication device.

"Antarctic Scientific Research Station System?"

Upon hearing the name, Jiang Chen immediately thought of the Bretton Woods system led by the Lighthouse after World War II. In that system, the US dollar was pegged to gold, and institutions like the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank were established—a series of rules and order that favored the Lighthouse's development.

But now, the Lighthouse had gone out. The Organization had been ignited.

The Dragon Kingdom's top leadership planned to hold the conference at the base near the Great Wall Scientific Research Station; in a sense, this was about establishing global rules and a unified order.

Those who were unwilling to join this order would naturally be ostracized by the rest of the world.

And with this order in place, Dragon Kingdom could mobilize global resources to pave the way for the future journey to the stars and seas.

"You should go to this Antarctic conference; it's of great historical significance." Jiang Chen placed his hand on Xue Yao's shoulder, acting as if this were a mission assigned by the Organization for her to complete.

Xue Yao also extended her slender, jade-like hand and rested it on Jiang Chen's leg, flicking it gently with her thumb. "Since it's so historically significant, shouldn't we create an aircraft carrier fleet to celebrate?"

"..." Jiang Chen was covered in cold sweat.

He wanted to say, "My dear, having children affects a woman's figure, and childbirth is painful." But looking at her perfect figure and her formidable constitution—which allowed her to return to duty without needing days of rest—he was left speechless.

How did he manage to find such an exceptional wife?

"Dad, I think Mom makes a valid point." Just as the two were caught in a romantic atmosphere in the cabin, a little head suddenly poked out from a corner under the bed, and she spoke.

Jiang Chen and Xue Yao were both startled. Looking down, they realized it was Commander Jiang Qiuzhi, who had crawled under the bed at some point and was now poking her head out.

"You little brat, when did you crawl under the bed? It's dusty under there. Who told you to go in?" Xue Yao grabbed her daughter, intending to pull her out.

This brat ruined her good time!

Commander Jiang Qiuzhi clung tightly to the underside of the bed, refusing to come out. She stubbornly said, "It's very clean down here; there are cleaning robots. Isn't that right, Jiang Haipeng?"

The space under the bed went quiet for a moment, and then Jiang Haipeng also crawled out, smiling awkwardly. "That's right, Mom. I checked; it's very clean under the bed, and it's perfect for hide-and-seek."

After saying this, Jiang Haipeng stuck out his tongue with a playful look and then took off running.

Seeing the situation, Commander Jiang Qiuzhi followed suit and took off running.

"You two brats, stop right there and face the wall in punishment!" Xue Yao chased after them, intending to catch the two of them.

Jiang Chen was speechless. When did these two hide under the bed? He looked down at the space under the bed again—damn, there was actually a flock of birds hiding there, silent as could be...

"Come out!" Under Jiang Chen's glare, they all flew out one after another.

In an instant, the entire cabin was filled with the calls of birds.
