1: After the time travel

In a void, a silver energy mass drifted aimlessly.

His name was Lu Qianyuan, and he was originally just an ordinary office worker.

With a salary of three thousand and no days off all year, he was the ultimate workhorse.

However, during one of his commutes, due to long-term late-night overtime, he failed to notice oncoming traffic while crossing the road and was directly sent into a deep sleep.

When Lu Qianyuan woke up, he had transformed into a silver energy mass and arrived in this void space.

After his exploration, Lu Qianyuan had confirmed that this space was completely empty; there was nothing but him.

During his first month here, Lu Qianyuan, with a 'take it as it comes' attitude, drifted aimlessly.

Before being sent here, he was alone, with no one worth missing.

So, he wasn't particularly concerned about returning.

But a month later, Lu Qianyuan was on the verge of collapse because there was truly nothing here; he couldn't even find anyone to talk to.

The long-term isolated life coupled with the unchanging scenery brought his mind to the brink of a breakdown.

So, he began to figure out a way to save himself.

In his current state, he couldn't even commit suicide; finding a way out of his predicament was the only solution.

However, unfortunately, despite Lu Qianyuan's best efforts, he couldn't find a way out.

As far as his eyes could see, there was only an endless void.

After three months of struggle, Lu Qianyuan finally broke down.

By this time, he had entered a semi-crazed state; all he could think about was leaving.

But even so, he still couldn't find a way to leave.

Over a long period, Lu Qianyuan began talking to himself to alleviate his boredom.

This continued for an unknown duration, perhaps ten years, perhaps a hundred, or even a thousand years.

When Lu Qianyuan gradually forgot the concept of time and his consciousness began to blur, he finally felt a mysterious summons.

Lu Qianyuan didn't know where this summons came from, but he instinctively chose to respond.

He then lost consciousness, and when he regained his senses, he had appeared in a somewhat dimly lit room.

Lu Qianyuan slowly regained his senses, and everything around him appeared in his mind.

At the same time, he felt an extremely strong pressure, severely suppressing his perception and power.

Lu Qianyuan rested briefly, adapting to his current situation, while observing his surroundings.

He was currently in a somewhat dark and damp room; the smell of mold filled his nostrils, making him a little uncomfortable.

However, at this moment, Lu Qianyuan felt no displeasure.

After drifting in that space for an unknown amount of time, he finally felt other things.

Lu Qianyuan opened his eyes and surveyed his surroundings.

It was a very simple small room, not large, about twenty square meters, with a somewhat cluttered arrangement; various sundries were piled together, making it feel a bit cramped.

He was currently lying on a small bed, wearing a short-sleeved shirt, covered in the smell of sweat, and beside him was a fist-sized white glowing orb.

Even Lu Qianyuan found the smell on his body unbearable.

After drifting for an unknown period, to arrive and be greeted by this smell—who could stand it?

However, the most pressing matter was to first figure out the current situation.

He recalled certain Transmigration novels he had read when he was still human; his situation should be similar.

Lu Qianyuan slowly began to recall the memories of this body.

The flood of memories was easily absorbed by Lu Qianyuan; a moment later, Lu Qianyuan rubbed his forehead, a look of surprise on his face.

It was truly fiction becoming reality; after drifting for an unknown number of years, he had truly Transmigrated.

The world Lu Qianyuan was currently in was called Azure Star, very similar to the world he was in when he was still human.

Both had humans as the dominant species, developing technology, and ruling the world.

But several epochs ago, the arrival of alien race and Origin Qi brought about earth-shattering changes to this world.

The arrival of Origin Qi caused immense changes in the original life on Azure Star; ordinary plants and animals became exotic beasts.

Humans, however, seemed to have been abandoned by the heavens; not only did they not undergo mutations, but their technology was also locked by some unknown force, rendering it useless.

After the arrival of the alien race, Azure Star's original order rapidly collapsed, and finally, the remaining forces gathered together to build District 50.

However, at the last moment, someone finally found a way to utilize Origin Qi, becoming the first Spirit Master in human history.

Relying on the power of Origin Qi and Spirit Master, humanity managed to hold onto its last foothold in this chaotic era.

And where he was now was the border region of District 49.

Because it was very close to the outer districts, housing prices here were virtually zero; even an orphan like his predecessor, whose parents had died, could afford to live here.

The predecessor was an ordinary student at a martial arts academy, also named Lu Qianyuan, just like him.

A classic case of having the same name.

Currently, the predecessor was preparing for the martial arts exam, hoping to achieve a good ranking and then soar to success.

However, ideals are grand, but reality is harsh.

A person's talent is divided into two aspects: Origin Qi Aptitude and Physique Aptitude.

Origin Qi Aptitude is called Spiritual Qi, and Physique Aptitude is called bone structure.

Everyone undergoes testing at the age of sixteen to assess their Spiritual Qi and bone structure.

The Upper limit for both Aptitude is 100, and if the Aptitude is 100, one can also Awaken certain transcendent talents.

The attributes of Aptitude determine a person's Cultivation speed on the path of Cultivation, and also determine the probability of him gaining recognition from a [Spirit].

Unfortunately, Lu Qianyuan's predecessor's Spiritual Qi was 9, and his bone structure was a bit higher at 23.

The two combined didn't even amount to a fraction of others'.

With such Aptitude, he was considered among the lowest even in District 49, where the overall level of strength and Aptitude was generally lower.

However, under normal circumstances, people in this era have two opportunities to change their fate.

The first is when Awaken Aptitude; if one can Awaken extremely high Aptitude, then Heaven-Defying one's fate is not difficult.

The second is when choosing a Natal Spirit.

The main combat power in this era is called Spirit Master; they primarily rely on activating Spirits to fight.

Spirits come in many types; for example, according to their effects, they can be divided into Battle Spirit, Healing Spirit, Guardian Spirit, and so on.

The types of Spirits are diverse, capable of providing a person with one to multiple abilities, and at the same time, they can enhance the user's power, depending on the Spirit's creator.

The quality of Spirits is divided into eight levels: Gray, White, Green, Blue, Purple, Orange, Gold, and Colorful.

The higher the quality of a Battle Spirit, the greater the power it can bring, and the higher the difficulty of mastering it.

His predecessor died due to an accident during the Fusion of the Natal Spirit his grandfather left him.

Only then did Lu Qianyuan arrive.

Thinking of this, Lu Qianyuan immediately began to perceive his own situation, wondering if his predecessor had successfully completed the Natal Spirit Fusion after he arrived.
