18: Let's go, to Yunxiao City!

May 25th, Saturday. Suitable for travel.

Yesterday afternoon, Jiang Hao went on a frantic shopping spree, buying not only various ready-to-eat foods but also compressed energy bars.

After all, Jiang Hao planned to stay up all night to farm points.

With 40 points of mental strength, staying awake for several days was nothing.

Jiang Hao channeled the enthusiasm he had for grinding games in his previous life, preparing to thoroughly discipline the exotic beasts of Battlefield No. 1.

Just as dawn broke, the people arranged by the Martial Unification Bureau of Yunxiao City arrived for pickup.

Jiang Hao got into the car, ready to head to the airport.

The straight-line distance between Yunxiao City and Yunlan City is about 1,200 kilometers, and it takes over an hour by plane.

He followed the staff through the green channel.

This time, they were taking a private plane arranged by the State Martial Unification Bureau, so all he had to do was follow along.

The plane took off, and he watched Yunlan City shrinking outside the window.

Jiang Hao felt drowsy shortly after sitting down, wondering if the passive skill from his past life had been inherited by his current self.

He closed his eyes, then opened them.

They had arrived at Yunxiao City.

As his feet firmly touched the ground, the uneasy feeling in Jiang Hao’s heart finally settled.

The staff from the State Martial Unification Bureau had already arranged a car to transfer him directly to the No. 1 Exotic Beast Battlefield. Jiang Hao ate a compressed energy bar in the car to replenish his stamina.

“Mr. Jiang Hao, we will first go meet your teammates for the next seven days and six nights,” a woman who looked like a secretary said.

“Teammates?” Jiang Hao turned his neck and asked, confused, “Didn’t you say I would be acting alone the whole time?”

“That is correct, but since this is your first time entering an exotic beast battlefield, many dangerous areas and the habits of certain exotic beasts can only be clearly understood by local veteran hunters.”

The woman continued, “Moreover, this was arranged by the leadership. Even if you don't take these four teammates, they will follow you after entering.”

“However, if you have any inconveniences, we can discuss them. For example, you can act alone during the day, but please try to return to the team at night.”

The woman was unperturbed. This Mr. Jiang Hao was specifically instructed by the head of the Martial Unification Bureau to be treated well; he must be a Young Master from some major Family.

The so-called Yunlan City was just a disguise. Last time, the Young Master of the Yun Family came here disguised as a freelance hunter as soon as he reached Tier 2.

If they hadn't assigned people to protect him the entire time, preemptively wounding some exotic beasts so Young Master Yun could claim the kills, and having several Mid-tier Martial Artists on alert during nighttime camping.

They even arranged for actors to pretend to be shocked when Young Master Yun killed a Tier 2 exotic beast.

How else could that Young Master Yun have comfortably come out and brag about being in his element in the exotic beast battlefield?

It’s hilarious. Does anyone genuinely believe there's no danger in a low-tier exotic beast battlefield?

Whether it's exotic beasts moving in packs or desperate criminals looking to kill and steal at night.

None of it can be handled by a newcomer rookie.

Not to mention identifying exotic beasts, distinguishing poisons, and finding water sources.

They could just have ten Mid-tier Martial Artists follow him during the day to ensure his safety.

They could also cripple a few Tier 3 exotic beasts to let Young Master Jiang experience the thrill of claiming a kill.

That's right, the female secretary saw that Jiang Hao was already Tier 3 before the National College Entrance Examination and immediately confirmed he must be a second-generation heir from a major power in another state, just out for fun.

After all, the Young Master of the Yun Family in Yunxiao City hadn't even reached Tier 3 yet.

Jiang Hao thought about it. It was indeed inconvenient to be alone, especially since he planned to farm points and slaughter everything along the way.

He actually needed professionals to help collect the corpses.

After all, not every part of a low-tier exotic beast is valuable; only certain parts rich in primal energy gain value after mutation.

These people can help me process the corpses. I'll just give them a cut of the money later.

“Alright then, let’s go meet my teammates!”

...At the entrance of the No. 1 Exotic Beast Battlefield, four men stood in silence. Large packs rested at their feet.

They were all veteran hunters who had cooperated with the Martial Unification Bureau for many years, all of them Tier 3 Martial Artists of the Weapon Combat Style.

A dark-skinned man holding a saber and shield asked:

“Big Brother, which Young Master is this time? How old is he to be Tier 3 already? Could it be a Prodigy from the Three Great States coming out to experience life?”

His tone sounded sour.

The man called Big Brother, who had a shaved head and carried a massive sword on his back, frowned and said:

“Little Si, don't try to find out things that don't concern us. The Martial Unification Bureau is paying in full anyway; all we need to do is ensure the Young Master has a pleasant seven days.”

The remaining two men consisted of one with long hair carrying dual blades, and another wearing a dark green windproof hat, shouldering a long spear.

The boss suddenly looked up at the stopping vehicle.

First to step out was the Martial Unification Bureau member who contacted them, followed by the young man who declined assistance and opened the door himself.

He was tall, handsome, and possessed an extraordinary aura. Upon closer inspection, he was indeed a very good-looking young man.

The boss immediately led his three companions forward to greet him.

Jiang Hao looked at the four people surrounding him. None of them were from the Spellcasting School; they were all pure Martial Artists of the Weapon Combat Style. He nodded in satisfaction.

After all, Jiang Hao didn't require his teammates to have great strength; none of them were stronger than him anyway.

The most important thing was that they had great strength to carry more spoils of war.

And that they had enough stamina for prolonged movement.

The boss was just about to introduce himself when he saw the Young Master opposite him gesture and ask:

“Are the four of you familiar with the areas inside the battlefield where exotic beasts are most numerous and concentrated?”

The boss was stunned, immediately realizing this Young Master was worried about encountering danger.

He stepped forward and confidently said:

“Veteran hunters like us who have been doing this for a long time know exactly which areas we shouldn't enter. Don’t worry, Young Master, we will absolutely guide you to avoid them.”

Jiang Hao said excitedly:

“No! Head specifically toward the areas dense with exotic beasts. Just point me in the right direction; I’ll go first, and then come back to call you to move the corpses.”

The boss looked awkwardly at the female secretary.

The female secretary was also speechless. Although people from these major Families were indeed strong, how much low-tier primal energy could they possibly possess?

Even killing one or two hundred exotic beasts is nothing compared to groups that number hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands.

The woman was about to tactfully advise Jiang Hao not to be too reckless at the start, when she saw a pale blue long blade being drawn by Jiang Hao.

Everyone present felt the fluctuation generated as the long blade slowly attracted the surrounding primal energy.

And the heart-pounding sense of danger when primal energy was injected, causing the blade to glow.

“A spirit weapon!”

Everyone present exchanged silent glances, reinforcing their preconceived notions.

A spirit weapon is at least Tier 7.

With that, one could certainly walk sideways across the low-tier battlefield.

It was perfectly reasonable for someone from a major Family to carry a spirit weapon!

Seeing no one object, Jiang Hao nodded in satisfaction, sheathed the blade, and put it back into his Storage Pouch.

The four hunters looked at each other, realizing that this mission might be a complete breeze.

The boss silently stepped forward to introduce himself:

“Young Master Jiang, hello. I am Liu Da, the one holding the dual blades is Guan Er. The one carrying the long spear is Zhang San.”

Finally, he pointed to the dark-skinned man, who was shedding tears of envy, and said:

“This is Hou Si. Young Master, if you have any requests, we will certainly do our best to fulfill them.”

Good heavens, Liu, Guan, Zhang, huh? You guys didn't happen to meet in the Peach Garden, did you?

Jiang Hao replied: “Don’t worry, I won’t make things difficult for you all. I will be killing the exotic beasts up front, and you just follow behind and handle the corpses.

If we encounter danger, I can unleash an attack comparable to Tier 7 with my spirit weapon. You don't need to worry about me being reckless and causing an exotic beast riot.”

Jiang Hao tossed out a reassurance.

The female secretary also nodded and said: “Then, Young Master Jiang, I wish you an enjoyable time these next few days!”
