106: Chapter 106 A Moral Man Among Crocodiles?
The crocodile's return made the Dragon Country Masses nervous once again.
The Foreigners, on the other hand, saw hope once more.
This time, the crocodile growled low at An Ke from within the lake, presumably preparing to launch an attack.
However, what no one knew was that in An Ke's ears, the crocodile's low growl said: "Don't go!"
An Ke stopped in his tracks, though he did not approach.
The crocodile came ashore from the bottom of the lake again. Because it had just opened its mouth to speak, several fish fell from its mouth onto the ground.
They flopped continuously on the ground.
"Oh my! Sir, why must you run around? Isn't it better to accept the arrangements of fate?"
The crocodile lamented while vigorously scooping them together.
Normally, the crocodile would disdain these small fish; they weren't even enough to fill the gaps between its teeth.
But now, it was working hard to ensure that not a single small fish could escape, piling them all up on the shore.
Visually, there were about a dozen fish in total.
To a crocodile, they were just a snack, but to An Ke and the others, they were already considered big fish.
Each one was about the size of an arm.
Looking at so many lively, jumping fish, Little Scar and the other monkeys were bewildered.
"Great King, what's the situation?"
"Why did the crocodile bring so many fish up?"
Little Scar could not understand.
An Ke did not answer Little Scar, but he already had an answer in his heart.
It just still needed verification.
After thinking for a moment, An Ke finally spoke. He played to its interests, using the same tone the crocodile had just used:
"What is the meaning of this, Sir?"
The crocodile chuckled low, then raised its long jaw and said with pride, "Rest easy, little friend. I value honor and justice; I never eat for free."
"These fish shall serve as the fee for the food I just ate. You keep grilling; just remember to leave a few for me."
"I will continue to catch more for you."
The crocodile spoke with righteous dignity, as if it were a paragon of virtue.
An Ke's brow twitched slightly, and he couldn't help but say, "Isn't it just that you want to eat grilled fish yourself, Sir?"
These words choked the crocodile up. It immediately raised its voice and said with some indignation:
"Little friend, why do you speculate about a fish's heart in such a way?"
"I, Old Crocodile, am not that kind of fish..."
Seeing that An Ke wanted to speak again, Old Crocodile immediately barked, "No talking!"
"It's decided. Otherwise, don't blame me for being impolite."
After saying that, it ignored whatever else An Ke had to say and returned to the lake once more.
Only An Ke, left bewildered in the wind, and the utterly confused Little Scar and the other monkeys remained at the scene.
A philosophical crocodile that values honor and justice!?
An Ke clicked his tongue in wonder.
Meanwhile, in the live broadcast room.
Watching the crocodile return to the lake again, everyone was stunned once more.
"Oh! God, why did this crocodile go back into the lake again?"
"Go attack that Dragon Country Kid! What are you running for?"
"Shit! Not only did it not attack, it even brought so many fish?"
"Is this crocodile missing a brain cell?"
"..."
The Foreigners were both anxious and angry.
They wished they could go down there and drag the crocodile back themselves.
In the broadcast, An Ke looked at the dazed Little Scar and said, "Little Scar, don't just stand there in a daze. Keep the fire going and grill the fish."
"Huh?" Little Scar felt as if it were dreaming.
It really wanted to ask the three existential questions.
Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?
Little Scar didn't understand why that crocodile had brought so many fish over.
But although it didn't know why, it still followed An Ke's orders and began to light the fire to grill the fish.
After all, the Great King's command was absolute.
Next, a scene occurred that made everyone's jaws drop.
Little Scar and another monkey grilled the fish.
While the crocodile continuously delivered more fish.
Watching the crocodile about to go back into the lake to catch more fish, Little Scar and the other monkeys were completely numb.
As animals, it was their first time feeling that having too much to eat could be so painful.
They couldn't finish grilling; they simply couldn't finish it all.
If this continued, they would be worked to death, wouldn't they?
Little Scar couldn't help but shout at the crocodile, "Enough! Enough!"
"Don't bring any more."
However, the crocodile couldn't understand Little Scar's words at all.
Seeing the monkey screeching, it thought it was being encouraged to catch more.
The crocodile couldn't help but chuckle low, "Don't worry, don't worry. I, Old Crocodile, will definitely keep catching fish for you to grill."
"This stuff is too delicious. You guys can eat first, just leave about thirty or forty for me."
After saying that, the crocodile turned its head, intending to go back into the lake.
An Ke finally couldn't watch any longer and quickly stepped forward to stop it, saying:
"Old Crocodile, no need to catch more. This is already enough."
After several trips back and forth, the crocodile had delivered at least a hundred fish.
It was lucky this lake was large enough and had plenty of fish, otherwise it might have been picked clean.
It would have been equivalent to a mass extinction disaster for the species.
The crocodile stopped in its tracks, surprised. "Are you sure no more is needed, little friend?"
"Don't wait until later and find there's not enough to eat!"
An Ke didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but he nodded firmly. "It's really enough."
At most, he and Little Scar's group could only eat six or seven fish.
Any more and their stomachs would surely burst.
Only the crocodile's physique could handle eating more.
The crocodile grinned and gave a 'hehe' laugh. "Since you say so, little friend, then I, Old Crocodile, won't work any harder."
"It's time to eat!"
"Little friend, come! Let's eat together."
After saying that, the crocodile couldn't wait and began to eat on its own.
It could eat several fish in one bite.
And with every mouthful, this giant crocodile showed an expression of pure enjoyment.
"Oh my god! This is so fragrant~~~"
After saying that, the crocodile realized its lapse in composure and quickly gave a dry cough.
Then it said solemnly, "I, Old Crocodile, am eating with great joy."
An Ke stifled a laugh. Was it because the food was too delicious that it exposed its true nature?
"Little friend, why aren't you eating too?" the crocodile asked, changing the subject.
An Ke chuckled, "Old Crocodile, you just go ahead and eat."
"It's rare to be able to make a senior like you eat with such joy. We juniors must certainly work hard to perform well."
"I will also grill fish for you, Old Crocodile."
An Ke spoke very politely, with an air of righteous dignity.
This made the crocodile extremely happy.
"Wahahaha! Then I shall trouble you, little friend."
"No matter, no matter! As long as you are happy, Old Crocodile, I am happy."
An Ke's series of flattering remarks made the crocodile beam with joy.
The reason for doing this was, naturally, to win over this giant crocodile.
This was a crocodile even larger than Tiger Mom.
As long as he could make it a member of the team, their combat power would skyrocket.
Ever heard of the Death Roll?
Thinking of this, An Ke joined the fish-grilling team.
All just to keep Old Crocodile in a good mood and provide it with emotional value.
This scene left the viewers in the live broadcast room stunned.
They found it hard to believe; it was the first time they had seen such an expression on a crocodile's face.
However, what made them happiest was that it wasn't hard to judge from An Ke's words just now.
This crocodile seemed to only like grilled fish and would not harm An Ke.
For the Dragon Country Masses, this was undoubtedly a great thing.
It meant An Ke was safe!
Since there was no more danger, everyone began to let their thoughts wander.
"Do you think Boss An can tame this giant crocodile?"
