Algorithm Storm 3

Unsurprisingly, Tesla Takeout dominated the mid-to-high-end takeout market.

Although Good Group and Lanbiao Factory also launched food safety controls in a tit-for-tat manner, they also feigned integrating merchant surveillance footage.

However, their algorithms simply couldn't keep up.

Good Group and Lanbiao Factory's internal R&D departments initially pushed hard, but the algorithms they developed were full of errors.

For instance, they couldn't distinguish between customers and employees, let alone analyze the cooking process; their algorithms were just glorified cloud monitoring systems.

The most critical issue was that Good Group and Lanbiao Factory lacked sufficient mid-to-high-end takeout market share to support their profits, and their investors, intimidated by Tesla's entry, became timid, not daring to increase investment or subsidize merchants and delivery riderss. They didn't believe they could out-spend Tesla.

Without sufficient profit support, forcibly implementing surveillance would certainly breed resentment. Moreover, this surveillance algorithm was utterly useless.

In the end, Good Group and Lanbiao Factory merely added a function to view surveillance footage on the detail page of each order.

Soon after, this move was met with collective resistance from merchants.

Because if those merchants revealed their cooking processes, what would they even sell? Regulators would be knocking on their doors the very next day.

Those claiming fresh meat were daily pulling out piles of frozen meat from refrigerators, while those claiming freshly cooked were using various pre-made dishes.

The most brutal part was how those 'tech and ruthless' practices would survive under surveillance. Could the back kitchen be casually revealed?

Soon, merchants began to feign compliance, setting up cameras to only film the finished product area.

With insufficient profits, weak brand power, and low-quality algorithms, Good Group and Lanbiao Factory completely failed under these multiple pressures.

They could only compete in the mid-to-low-end takeout market that Tesla Takeout didn't touch.

But Lin Yuan clearly had the idea of thoroughly cleaning up the takeout industry.

The biggest cost of algorithms lies in the process of inventing and validating them; once validated, the main cost during mass deployment is hardware.

Yet, even so, the mid-to-low-end takeout market would still struggle to support this approach.

Configuring high-definition cameras might be a one-time investment, but the construction of a management system cannot be completed through algorithms alone. For example, how would one make elderly waitstaff in small restaurants understand the concepts of processes and norms?

In essence, many small restaurants simply cannot afford excessively high management costs, even the optimized management costs after algorithm implementation.

Lin Yuan's approach is built on standardization, similar to the assembly line established during the Industrial Revolution. Standardization leads to economies of scale, making this method inherently suitable for franchises and other large catering entities.

In the following days, numerous large catering enterprises came to negotiate with Tesla Takeout to integrate this management model.

Even many manufacturing companies came to negotiate.

Tesla's Dragon Country management team was eager to promote this management model across all industries.

However, Lin Yuan quickly put a stop to it.

Because he himself didn't know what kind of monstrosity this algorithm would incubate in other industries once it left the takeout sector. He believed he understood the takeout industry well, but many unforeseen situations still arose during the implementation of this algorithm.

If it were rashly pushed into other industries and fell into the hands of those profit-driven individuals, who knew if it would lead to a bloodbath?

Lin Yuan could use his personal relationship with Musk to forcefully suppress the profit-seeking impulses of Tesla's Dragon Country management team.

But he couldn't control people from other companies.

Even among Tesla's Dragon Country management team, many complained loudly, grumbling about not making money from such a good opportunity.

Fortunately, that scoundrel Musk knew that some money shouldn't be touched.

Because making money this way could easily lead to huge problems.

This algorithm's surveillance of workers was terrifying; the reason why those monitored on the Tesla Takeout platform didn't resent it was because being monitored brought benefits.

However, not every company could play Tesla's game.

In fact, Tesla's high salaries for its platform's merchants and delivery riderss were not out of charity, but to improve service quality. This was essentially an increased cost to improve the quality of their own products.

Except for Lin Yuan, who was genuinely aiming to benefit the public, no one else in this process shared that same intention.

Even Musk, in Lin Yuan's eyes, was a vampire, albeit an ambitious one. Musk had no sympathy when it came to exploiting people.

Lin Yuan could sense from his interactions with him that he was a person with little sympathy for ordinary people; his eyes only saw 'self-realization.' Simply put, Lin Yuan felt that Musk viewed mortals as mere weeds.

Therefore, Lin Yuan would never, ever let this algorithm leak out.

During this period, Lin Yuan witnessed a myriad of human conditions.

Good Group and Lanbiao Factory, for their survival, actually chose to merge.

One must know that they were backed by two different capital forces, and they had been locked in overt and covert struggles for so many years, their grievances practically immeasurable. Yet, under immense external pressure, they actually merged.

This was merely the behavior of competitors; the internal mess within Tesla Takeout was the most thrilling.

Seeing Tesla Takeout's sudden rise, which also reignited the AI concept, Tesla's Dragon Country management team developed a 'cherry-picking' mentality.

Originally, they had doubts about getting into the takeout business and never expected it to succeed.

But Lin Yuan showed signs of unifying the takeout world, so Tesla's Dragon Country management team proposed integrating the takeout department under the unified jurisdiction of the Dragon Country branch.

For this, they naturally found many reasons, but all reasons pointed to turning Lin Yuan into their subordinate; they wanted to pick the fruits of his labor.

Lin Yuan didn't humor them. At a high-level management meeting of Tesla's Dragon Country branch, with Musk connected via remote video, he brazenly slammed the table and fiercely cursed at the head of Tesla Dragon Country.

"I f*** your mother, I'm not your subordinate. What the f*** are you?"

Musk, on the other end of the video, covered his eyes, repeatedly saying, "Easy, easy! My crazy baby!"

Thus, everyone understood: Lin Yuan's backing was simply too strong, so strong that he dared to curse everyone present in front of the big boss, Musk.

They finally understood that Tesla Takeout merely bore the Tesla name. Because Musk said, "Tesla Takeout is Lin Yuan's company, and he calls all the shots."

Good Group spun off its takeout business, merged it with Lanbiao Factory, and then adopted a very targeted name – Longhua Takeout. Its slogan was to create a takeout service for the people of Dragon Country themselves.

Subsequently, Longhua Takeout launched a wave of online smear campaigns: focusing on data security issues brought by Tesla Takeout and ethical issues arising from AI's involvement in production management.

Lin Yuan clearly understood that his opponents, unable to compete head-on, were resorting to dirty tricks. Longhua Takeout truly, truly couldn't win fairly, so it overturned the table and started setting the narrative.

Lin Yuan felt a deep malice. When scoundrels couldn't beat you, they turned to moralizing.

Lin Yuan found it incredibly amusing. Good Group and Lanbiao Factory, these two, had monopolized the takeout industry for so many years; when had they ever truly cared about the fate of Dragon Country's small merchants and delivery riderss?

Lin Yuan had to simultaneously figure out how to address the crushing advantage large enterprises held over small merchants due to the scaling effects brought by algorithm standardization, while also fending off smears from competitors and endless online memes about him.

He finally truly realized: starting a business is not something ordinary people can do.
