6: Chapter 6 Mo Beichen
On Monday morning, just as the sky was beginning to brighten, Su Ming got up early and rushed to school.
Yet even so, by the time Su Ming stepped through the gates of Xingyao Deity Middle School, quite a few students had already arrived.
Xingyao Deity Middle School, where Su Ming attended, was a noble deity school on Blue Star.
Most of the students on campus were children of prominent aristocratic families, dressed in glamorous clothes and exuding varying degrees of innate superiority.
According to common sense, a commoner with an impoverished family background like Su Ming was simply not qualified to step foot through the gates of this noble institution.
But it couldn't be helped that Su Ming had a good brain; ever since he was a child, Su Ming's grades had always been at the top of the list.
Furthermore, research by many deity scholars had discovered that the intelligence level of living beings was directly proportional to the probability of awakening a Divine Domain and talents.
The more intelligent they were, the easier it was to perceive the laws of heaven and earth, and the greater the possibility of condensing a Divine Domain and awakening talents.
Therefore, noble schools like Xingyao Deity Middle School, in order to display fairness and also to absorb geniuses among commoners, would establish a small number of specially recruited quotas every year.
These specially recruited students not only did not need to pay exorbitant tuition fees, but the school would also issue a certain amount of living allowances to guarantee their basic expenses.
Su Ming was the one who obtained the specially recruited student quota, enabling him to step into this deity institution that countless people dreamed of.
Only that this allowance would be gone after Deity Day.
Regardless of whether the specially recruited students successfully condensed a Divine Domain or not, from now on, the resources needed for cultivation and daily expenses would have to be earned through their own hard work, with no more support from the school.
Su Ming reined in his focus, walked briskly into the teaching building, and headed straight for his classroom.
As soon as he pushed open the classroom door, a dark shadow, carrying a gust of wind, lunged fiercely towards him.
Su Ming's eyes condensed, his figure subconsciously dodging to the side. His movements were crisp and neat without any hesitation, steadily avoiding this sudden lunge.
"Little Mingming, how can you be so unfeeling!" A resentful yet teasing voice came from behind, its tone full of "grievance".
Su Ming helplessly supported his forehead, turned around, and looked at the youth in front of him, his tone carrying a trace of helplessness: "Mo Beichen, you bastard, act normal for me."
The youth in front of him had a tall and straight figure. His neat buzz cut looked exceptionally refreshing, a few strands of broken hair hung slightly down his forehead, a pair of peach-blossom eyes curved into crescents, the depths of his eyes were full of banter, and a lingering smile still hung at the corners of his mouth.
His cuffs were casually rolled up to his forearms, revealing a simple string of black bracelets around his wrist. His whole body exuded a bit of playful casualness, yet it hid the vibrant vitality unique to a youth—at a glance, he was not a well-behaved master.
Mo Beichen was one of Su Ming's few good friends in this noble school, and he was also a descendant of the Mo family.
"Su Ming, why did you leave first yesterday without waiting for me?" Mo Beichen leaned forward, his tone carrying a hint of complaint, yet his gaze could not hide his curiosity.
Su Ming shrugged, his tone flat: "There was nothing much anyway, and staying there was useless, so it was better to go back early."
Mo Beichen looked at his calm and collected appearance, shook his head helplessly, and did not pursue the matter further.
Afterwards, he lowered his voice, leaned into Su Ming's ear, and asked curiously: "Right Su Ming, what attribute is your Divine Domain?"
"Nether attribute." Su Ming did not hide it and spoke frankly.
"Nether attribute?!" Mo Beichen's eyes widened, a look of obvious surprise appearing on his face. His tone unconsciously raised a few fractions, and then he hurriedly lowered his voice: "This luck of yours... should I call you lucky or unlucky?"
Mo Beichen's expression became complicated.
The Nether attribute had huge potential; if one came from an aristocratic family and had sufficient resources for support, they could unleash its terrifying power.
But Su Ming was a commoner without a family backing him, nor did he have sufficient resources to support the development of the Nether Divine Domain, so the road ahead would only be exceptionally difficult.
For Su Ming, if he wanted to go further on this path of deities, the best way out was either to marry into an aristocratic family as a matrilocal husband or to rely on a conglomerate.
But no matter which choice it was, it meant that Su Ming would be at the mercy of others, lose his freedom, and would never be able to move forward according to his own wishes again.
Su Ming looked at Mo Beichen's worried and complicated expression, shook his head gently, and said in a calm tone: "Rest assured, I'm fine. Also, class time is almost here, are you sure you want to linger around me?"
Hearing this, Mo Beichen's expression changed instantly. Like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, he hurriedly took two steps back and obediently sat back in his own seat.
In Xingyao Deity Middle School, the ones who must least be offended were never those children of prominent aristocratic families, but rather the school's teachers.
Here, "respecting teachers and elders" was not just a slogan, but a rule carved into the bones of every student.
As for why?
Heh!
Being able to become a teacher at a deity school, especially a top noble school like Xingyao, every single one of them was a genuine True God and a true deity.
Gods cannot be insulted!
Inside Xingyao Deity Middle School alone, there were as many as a dozen True Gods holding down the fort. Among them, Principal Ning Zhengqi was even an Higher True God with formidable strength, standing as a top-tier existence across the entire Blue Star.
Even aristocratic family descendants would not dare to offend the teachers here without reason; otherwise, the consequences would be unimaginable.
The hour hand pointed precisely to eight o'clock, and a figure appeared at the classroom door on time.
That was a heroic-looking man wearing gold-rimmed glasses, with a tall and upright posture and handsome features. With his hands behind his back, he walked in with a leisurely pace. Without deliberately releasing any coercion, he naturally carried an invisible aura that instantly quieted the entire classroom.
This person was their head teacher, Teacher Yan Ruyu, and at the same time, he was also a powerful Intermediate True God.
Don't look at his harmless and gentle appearance at the moment; Su Ming and the others didn't dare to underestimate him in the slightest.
Because they knew that his current state was entirely due to Teacher Yan Ruyu retracting his divine power.
If Teacher Yan Ruyu released the divine might of a True God without any scruples, that terrifying coercion alone would be enough to instantly annihilate all demigod-level students present, leaving not even a trace behind.
This was a True God.
They were like walking, blazing suns, radiant with boundless light and towering coercion. Mortals and demigods were all like ants in front of them.
After Teacher Yan Ruyu walked into the classroom, his gaze slowly swept over the students below. Seeing that no one was late, he nodded with satisfaction and said: "I am already aware of your awakening situations on Deity Day. Those who have successfully activated their Divine Domain will continue to stay in this class; as for those who failed to condense a Divine Domain, other teachers will come later to take you to exclusive classes, and there will be targeted guidance subsequently."
Hearing this, many students in the classroom who failed to condense a Divine Domain instantly showed expressions of unwillingness and loneliness on their faces.
They clenched their fists tightly, their eyes full of regret, but when they met Teacher Yan Ruyu's calm yet majestic eyes, all complaints and unwillingness were swallowed back into their stomachs, not even daring to breathe loudly.
Not long after, a teacher walked into the classroom, bowed slightly in salute to Teacher Yan Ruyu, and then led the students who failed to condense a Divine Domain out of the classroom.
When those students left, their steps were heavy, and the gazes they cast back at the classroom were full of unwillingness and envy.
They knew in their hearts that starting today, they and Su Ming and the others who remained in the classroom would embark on completely different life paths.
Watching those unwilling figures completely disappear at the door, Teacher Yan Ruyu spoke again, his tone a bit more serious: "Alright, those who remain in the classroom shouldn't be too happy either. Starting today, your study content will increase significantly, and the difficulty will also rise; moreover, the first Divine Domain Simulation Battle will be held in a week. All students who choose to take the path of War Deities must participate, and students who perform outstandingly will receive generous resource rewards from the school."
Hearing this, Su Ming and the others showed not a trace of surprise on their faces.
The Divine Domain Simulation Battle was both an inspection of the freshmen's War Deities and a pathway for them to acquire resources.
Teacher Yan Ruyu didn't say any more nonsense and began the official lecture.
