82: Chapter 82 Absence Makes the Heart Blossom
Lin Yu got out of the car first and opened the door for her.
"We're here."
Jiang Shuying unbuckled her seatbelt and stepped out of the car, only to suddenly hear Lin Yu's voice ring out behind her.
"Shuying."
This was the first time he had called her by her first name, omitting her surname, which made it sound exceptionally intimate and natural.
Jiang Shuying turned back to look at Lin Yu, who was standing by the car door. The afterglow of the setting sun spilled onto him, gilding him with a faint golden rim.
Jiang Shuying's heart skipped a beat; she felt it wasn't the right time to reject such a form of address.
"Mr. Lin, you..."
"Go on up and get some good rest. I won't be back at noon, so make yourself something good to eat."
"Okay, thank you!"
Lin Yu watched as Jiang Shuying walked into the lobby, and only when that slender figure completely disappeared did he turn and return to the car.
"Old Lin, heading to Xingyao Media?" Fatty asked through the rearview mirror.
The gentleness on Lin Yu's face vanished in an instant, replaced by a cold indifference.
He took out his phone and dialed Leng Yue's number, his tone brief: "The more comprehensive the dirt on Yayun Culture, the better."
11:00 AM.
Lin Yu stood in the lounge area of the lobby at Xingyao Media, phone in hand, the screen lingering on his chat interface with General Manager Ding.
The two had never stopped communicating. From morning and night greetings, to the red envelopes Lin Yu would casually send to General Manager Ding, to the various selfies and voice messages she sent complaining about work, their relationship had become even stickier due to this "cloud dating."
Lin Yu hadn't told her in advance that he was coming to Quan City; he wanted to surprise her.
He dialed a video call to General Manager Ding.
"Beep... beep..." It rang several times before it was answered.
On the screen, General Manager Ding was lying on a beanbag chair, her eyes red, clearly having just cried or not slept well. Upon seeing Lin Yu's face, she was stunned for a moment, then abruptly sat up straight, a flurry of chaotic movement coming from the background.
"Brother Yu?! You... where are you? This background... is this downstairs?"
General Manager Ding's voice was trembling, and she widened her eyes in disbelief.
"Yeah, in the lobby downstairs." Lin Yu leaned against a marble pillar, a wicked smile playing on his lips. "Come down and receive me; I'll give you five minutes."
"Ahhh! Coming, coming!"
The video call cut off instantly.
In less than five minutes, the elevator door chimed with a "ding."
General Manager Ding hadn't even touched up her makeup; her hair was messy, and she was wearing only a loose hoodie (evidently thrown on in a hurry), with her long legs bare, rushing out in slippers.
"Brother Yu!"
She slammed into Lin Yu's arms like a cannonball, not caring that there were others in the lobby, and jumped up to hang onto him.
"Why are you here! Didn't you say you were busy this week? Why didn't you tell me in advance!"
Lin Yu steadily supported her bottom, letting her hang on him like a koala, and lowered his head to kiss her on the forehead.
"I missed you, so I came."
The surrounding receptionists and passing employees were dumbfounded. Was this still that "Nana"? This was clearly a clingy little temptress!
Lin Yu ignored the surrounding gazes and carried General Manager Ding toward the elevator. "Let's go, to your lounge."
They entered the lounge and closed the door.
General Manager Ding pushed Lin Yu onto the sofa, straddled his lap, wrapped her arms around his neck, and rubbed against his neck like a kitten.
"Brother Yu, you haven't come to see me for over a month..."
"Isn't I here now?" Lin Yu smiled and pinched her waist. "Are you tired from work lately? Has that Zhao Tai come to cause trouble again?"
Mentioning Zhao Tai, General Manager Ding pouted. "Don't bring him up. That old pervert only swings by occasionally; he's disgusting. But lately, it's mainly that Vice President Wu who's annoying me."
"Vice President Wu?"
"He's just a dog for Zhao Tai!" General Manager Ding said indignantly. "The company's General Manager, GM Xu, is a person of real talent and ability, but he's been sidelined by Vice President Wu. Vice President Wu forces us to sign valuation adjustment mechanism agreements every day and even deducts our commissions to pay off Zhao Tai's debts!"
"Then what are you going to do?"
"Hmph, I have GM Xu covering for me!" General Manager Ding lifted her chin triumphantly. "GM Xu can't stand Vice President Wu's methods, so he formed an alliance with me in private. As long as I hold the revenue data, GM Xu has the confidence to fight against Vice President Wu."
Lin Yu smiled; it seemed his woman was not only beautiful but also very sharp.
"Alright, the serious business is done; it's time to take care of 'private business.'"
"Brother Yu... this is the company..." General Manager Ding's cheeks flushed crimson; while her mouth said no, her body was very honest as she wrapped herself around him.
"What are you afraid of? The soundproofing on this door is quite good." Lin Yu exerted sudden force and swept General Manager Ding up into his arms.
General Manager Ding let out a startled cry, subconsciously wrapping her legs around his lean, strong waist. Lin Yu steadily supported her and strode toward the single bed in the lounge usually used for afternoon naps.
However, the moment Lin Yu prepared to set her down, the haziness in General Manager Ding's eyes was suddenly replaced by a wild spark.
The grievances, longing, and resentment over his hot-and-cold behavior that had accumulated over the past month completely erupted at this moment.
"Brother Yu... you are so cruel..."
Before Lin Yu could react, General Manager Ding suddenly took the initiative. She locked her hands tightly onto Lin Yu's shoulders and, using the momentum of their descent, forcefully pinned him down onto the bed.
Lin Yu raised an eyebrow, and before he could speak, General Manager Ding's kisses fell upon him like a torrential rain.
She was like a lioness who had been hungry for a long time, finally seeing her prey. Her lips and teeth eagerly pried open his defenses, and her tongue wantonly swept through every inch of his mouth, as if to fill the void of the past month completely.
"Mm..." Lin Yu let out a muffled groan, the smile in his eyes instantly turning into a blaze.
General Manager Ding's hands weren't behaving either; with a near-retaliatory urgency, they slipped under his hem, her fingers lightly tracing his firm back.
"Lin Yu... I missed you to death... do you know that..."
While kissing him, she murmured incoherently, her voice filled with obvious sobs and trembling.
That long-lost touch and the familiar scent of male hormones instantly shattered all her restraint. She didn't want to wait for any gentle foreplay; she just wanted to possess him now, to possess him completely.
General Manager Ding suddenly lifted her head, her eyes hazy yet fervent, her hands trembling as she went to unbuckle Lin Yu's belt. Because she was too eager, her fingers were somewhat uncooperative; the more she couldn't undo it, the heavier the agitation in her eyes became.
"You're such a klutz."
Lin Yu let out a low chuckle, flipped over to pin her beneath him again, and easily dealt with the troublesome restraints with one hand.
"Since you're in such a hurry, don't blame me for not being gentle."
As the final line of defense was breached, General Manager Ding tilted her head back and let out a satisfied, suppressed sigh.
That long-awaited sensation made every pore in her body relax, as if parched land had finally welcomed the sweet rain.
"Brother Yu... give it to me... give me everything..."
She held him tightly, her legs wrapping around him even tighter, her nails digging deep into his muscles as if afraid he would disappear in the next second.
When the lounge door opened again, it was already past one in the afternoon.
The hair that had been messy was carefully tidied by General Manager Ding, though a lingering flush still remained on her delicate little face, and her eyes held a hint of languor and satisfaction as they darted about. Lin Yu walked by her side, his shirt collar slightly open, revealing a faint scratch mark on his collarbone—a medal left behind from their "frenzied" moment just now.
The two walked hand in hand, fingers interlaced, passing through the lobby on the first floor of Xingyao Media.
"Is that Nana?"
"Oh my god, who is that man next to her? So handsome!"
"Look at them holding hands... Since when has Nana been dating? And they look like they have such a great relationship!"
The surrounding receptionists and passing employees cast curious gazes, some even unable to resist whispering to each other. You see, General Manager Ding had always been known in the company as a "vibrant sweet girl," usually smiling at everyone, but this kind of undisguised sweetness and dependence was something they were seeing for the first time.
General Manager Ding, however, didn't care at all. Instead, she gripped Lin Yu's hand even tighter, lifting her chin slightly like a little kitten showing off a beloved toy. She even waved to a few colleagues she knew well, her face filled with uncontrollable smiles: "Good afternoon! I'm going out for lunch; I'll be back to continue working in the afternoon!"
The sweetness and excitement in that tone were practically overflowing.
Lin Yu had a faint smile on his lips, letting her lead him, feeling the warm touch from her palm. He enjoyed this feeling of being "claimed" by her, and he also loved the way she looked right now, happy and undisguised.
After leaving the company building, the afternoon sun was just right, spilling warmly onto them and dispelling the winter chill.
"Starving, aren't you?" Lin Yu looked down at her, his voice filled with indulgence. "After tossing around for so long, you must have no energy left."
General Manager Ding's cheeks flushed red, and she gave him a light punch. "It's all your fault..."
Although she said that, her stomach gave a very honest rumble. She covered her stomach, feeling a bit embarrassed, and stuck out her tongue. "I really am hungry... what are we going to eat?"
Lin Yu thought for a moment and pointed to a Japanese restaurant not far away with elegant decor. "Let's go there. I remember you saying before that you like sashimi and sushi."
General Manager Ding's eyes lit up. "Right! Brother Yu, your memory is so good!"
The two walked into the Japanese restaurant and found a seat by the window. The environment in the shop was quiet and secluded, playing soft Japanese folk songs, and the sunlight shone through the floor-to-ceiling windows onto the wooden tables and chairs, making it look exceptionally warm.
Lin Yu skillfully ordered the dishes General Manager Ding loved: tuna sashimi, salmon sushi, eel rice, and a bowl of steaming miso soup.
"Brother Yu, how did you know I loved eating these so much?" General Manager Ding rested her chin in her hand, looking at him curiously.
"Because every word you've said, I've kept in my heart." Lin Yu smiled faintly and reached out to pour her a cup of hot tea.
General Manager Ding felt a warmth in her heart and couldn't help but lean over and kiss him on the cheek. "Brother Yu, you're so good!"
Before long, the dishes were served one after another. General Manager Ding had been starving for a long time; she picked up her chopsticks and began to feast. The way she ate sashimi was very cute; her small mouth opened slightly, she carefully picked up a slice of tuna, dipped it in soy sauce and wasabi, then put it in her mouth with satisfaction, her eyes squinting into slits.
"Eat slowly, no one is going to snatch it from you." Lin Yu watched her wolfing down the food and couldn't help but laugh, reaching out to wipe the sauce from the corner of her mouth.
"Mm... delicious..." General Manager Ding said incoherently with her mouth full of sushi. "And eating with you makes it feel even tastier!"
Lin Yu also picked up his chopsticks to eat with her. He didn't eat much; most of the time he was watching her eat, occasionally picking up food for her or handing her a glass of water.
The sunlight shone through the window onto the two of them, outlining their cuddling silhouettes. General Manager Ding would look up at him from time to time, her eyes filled with love and satisfaction; Lin Yu would gently respond to her gaze, a faint smile always hanging on his lips.
"Brother Yu," General Manager Ding sighed with satisfaction after finishing the last bite of eel rice, "you have to come often to eat with me in the future, otherwise I'll miss you."
"Okay," Lin Yu held her hand and rubbed it gently, "from now on, whenever you want, I'll come anytime."
General Manager Ding returned to the company and pushed open the door to the lounge. It was a full thirty square meters, covered with a soft, long-pile carpet. In the corner, there was a Dyson air purifier and a high-end aromatherapy machine. Directly facing the door was a floor-to-ceiling mirror covering the entire wall, and next to it was a storage rack piled with samples sent by various major brands.
She kicked off her high heels and sprawled onto the leather beanbag chair in the lounge, completely without image.
"Hiss..." As soon as she sat down, a strong feeling of soreness shot straight from her tailbone to the top of her head. Although the "fierce battle" in the lounge earlier had left her wanting more, now that the passion had receded, the aftereffects came crashing down like a tidal wave. Especially her waist and legs, which felt so sore and weak that they didn't seem to be her own; even moving slightly felt like torture.
"That bastard Lin Yu..." General Manager Ding buried her face in a pillow and muttered softly, though her tone didn't carry a hint of complaint, but rather a trace of sweet, lingering aftertaste.
She was dazed, rubbing her sore waist, when her private phone on the vanity suddenly rang.
The screen showed a strange number without a saved name, but the location was displayed as Quan City.
General Manager Ding frowned, thinking it was a business contact from some brand, so she cleared her throat, adjusted her slightly lazy voice, and pressed the answer button: "Hello, how can I help you?"
"Hello, may I speak with Ms. General Manager Ding?"
A highly professional female voice came from the other end of the line, warm and steady, conveying a sense of well-educated detachment and professionalism. "I am a health consultant from 'Yiyang Tang' Private Health Management. You can call me Sarah."
"Yiyang Tang?" General Manager Ding was stunned for a moment.
Of course she knew Yiyang Tang. It was the top-tier private health and wellness club in Quan City, operating on a membership basis with an annual fee starting at one million, specifically serving political and business elites. There were no so-called "technicians" there, only internationally licensed rehabilitation therapists and traditional Chinese medicine experts. She had heard GM Xu from her company mention it before; appointments there were hard to come by, and it wasn't something you could just book easily, even if you had money.
"Yes." Sarah's voice remained calm and composed. "Ms. General Manager Ding, we have received notification that a Mr. Lin has just purchased our 'Black Diamond' annual home service card for you. According to the records, you may be experiencing lumbar muscle strain and excessive fatigue recently. Mr. Lin specifically requested that we arrange an immediate soothing treatment session for you."
