180: Chapter 180: Li Changsheng Arrives
The next morning.
Far away at the Supreme Dao Palace, two Saints stepped into the teleportation gate together.
The Supreme Dao Palace was located across half the continent from the Far North Land.
For such a long distance, let alone Soul Transformation, even Void Refining would take several days of travel.
So Li Changsheng and the other naturally chose the teleportation array.
A moment later.
A teleportation array in the Far North Land lit up with white light, and two figures slowly stepped out.
Li Changsheng, dressed in a green robe, stood with his hands behind his back.
Although his Early Stage of Spirit Severing aura was restrained, it still caused the surrounding space to ripple faintly.
Beside him, Su Qinghan's white clothes were like snow, her expression cold, and the aura of her Mystic Yin Returning Essence Body was as sharp as ice.
She was also a Soul Transformation powerhouse, and her aura seemed even stronger than Li Changsheng's.
"This is the Far North Land?"
Su Qinghan looked around, her brow furrowing slightly.
Before them was a vast wilderness, a grey sky, and a faint smell of blood in the air.
In the distance, several low hills were vaguely visible, completely barren.
Li Changsheng looked around and nodded: "It's even more desolate than I imagined."
He had heard Xiao Ran talk about the situation here before coming, but seeing it with his own eyes was another matter.
Seeing this, Li Changsheng took out a map and looked at it.
"Our Sect's outpost is to the southeast. If we fly at full speed, it should take about half an hour."
Su Qinghan nodded.
"Let's go!"
As soon as the words were spoken.
The two turned into streaks of light and flew rapidly toward the southeast.
Along the way, Su Qinghan didn't speak, just quietly watching the barren land below.
Li Changsheng didn't speak either, but in his mind, he sent a message to Xiao Ran through their Soul link.
"We've arrived."
Xiao Ran replied quickly: "How does it feel?"
"This place is so damn desolate. If I didn't know the Yao Race hasn't invaded for thousands of years, I'd think a great war had just broken out!"
Hearing this, Xiao Ran couldn't help but laugh out loud; he had felt the same way when he first arrived.
"You'll get used to it. How's your Sect's outpost?"
Li Changsheng: "Haven't arrived yet, but judging by the look of things, it's probably not much better than your Eternal Night Demon Sect's old outpost."
"Normal. The Far North Land is like this; the harsher it is outside, the more prosperous the cities are."
"Settle in first, then go check out the Sword Qi Great Wall later. It's lively over there."
Li Changsheng acknowledged and cut the link.
Half an hour later.
The two finally saw several halls clustered together on the vast land.
Although the halls weren't luxurious, they didn't look old at all.
"It seems the people from the Sect are living quite well here!"
Li Changsheng murmured softly, slowly descending with Su Qinghan.
At this moment.
Several Cultivators responsible for guarding the gate finally noticed them.
Among this group, the one with the highest cultivation was only at the Nascent Soul Early Stage.
"Who goes there?"
A middle-aged Cultivator came forward, looking at them warily.
Li Changsheng took out his token: "I am Li Changsheng, the Third Holy Son of the Supreme Dao Palace. I have been ordered to take over the Far North outpost."
The middle-aged Cultivator froze for a moment and then quickly bowed.
"So it is Saint Li. This subordinate was blind, please forgive me!"
Long before Li Changsheng set out, the Sect had already sent word.
So the group had no doubts at all.
Li Changsheng didn't care for such formalities and waved his hand: "No need for such etiquette. Take me inside to have a look."
The middle-aged Cultivator quickly led the way.
The interior of the outpost looked even more messy than the outside.
Skeletons of Yao Beasts were piled in the courtyard, emitting the smell of blood—clearly fresh prey.
Li Changsheng's brow furrowed slightly.
"How many people are in the outpost now?"
The middle-aged Cultivator said quickly.
"Including myself, there are twenty-three people in total."
"One at the Soul Transformation Stage, three at the Nascent Soul Stage, and the rest are Golden Core and Foundation Establishment."
"Currently, there are only some Gatekeepers at the outpost. The captain and the others have gone out hunting."
Li Changsheng nodded without saying much.
He turned to look at Su Qinghan.
"Senior Sister Su, which room will you stay in?"
Su Qinghan said indifferently: "Whatever."
She chose a stone room by the window, pushed the door open, entered, and closed it.
Li Changsheng looked at the closed door and shook his head.
He walked to the center of the courtyard and raised his hand, striking a bolt of Clear Qi into the ground.
The ground vibrated, the soil churned, and a brand-new stone platform rose from beneath.
"Go and call everyone currently in the outpost here."
The middle-aged man nodded and then left.
A short while later, about a dozen people walked over in unison.
Li Changsheng scanned them and said calmly.
"From today on, the outpost will begin reconstruction. Everyone will follow my command."
He raised his hand and slashed a beam of Sword Qi toward the distant cliff.
The cliff cracked at the sound, and countless stones tumbled down.
His fingers pointed repeatedly, and those stones were sliced into regular stone bricks in mid-air, landing neatly on the ground.
"Begin tidying up the halls."
The crowd was stunned for a moment, then began working with great enthusiasm.
Li Changsheng stood on high ground, watching their busy figures.
If conditions allowed, he still had some standards for his living quarters.
Through the Soul link, Xiao Ran's voice came.
"How is it? Is the Supreme Dao Palace's outpost also a wreck?"
Li Changsheng sighed: "It's about the same as your old outpost; it doesn't even have a decent hall."
Xiao Ran: "Normal. The Far North Land is like this. Everyone lives hand-to-mouth to survive; who has time to build halls? Plus, the Sects don't value it, so it's stayed like this over time."
"But it'll be easy now that you're there. You're rich!"
After their journey to the ruins, both Xiao Ran and Li Changsheng were now filthy rich.
Building an outpost would be a breeze.
Li Changsheng nodded.
"I'm currently rebuilding. By the way, Second Senior Sister chose a stone room as soon as she arrived and shut herself inside."
Hearing this, Xiao Ran was silent for a moment: "How is... she?"
Li Changsheng thought for a bit.
"She seems okay, just not very talkative. She didn't say much on the way."
Xiao Ran was silent again for a while.
"Forget it, let her cool off for a bit."
"There's a lot going on in the Far North Land. We'll talk once she's adapted."
Li Changsheng acknowledged and cut the link.
He looked up at the grey sky in the distance.
The Far North Land was more desolate than he had imagined.
Over the next few days, Li Changsheng devoted his full effort to organizing the outpost.
He used his own Spirit Stones to buy Materials and asked the Cultivators in the outpost to help tear down the dilapidated stone halls and rebuild them.
In less than three days, a brand-new outpost appeared on the wilderness.
Stone houses were arranged neatly, and the streets were wide and smooth.
Spiritual flowers and Spiritual Plants were interspersed throughout, and stream water was diverted from the mountains, flowing through the entire outpost.
Although it didn't have the grandeur of the Supreme Dao Palace, it was more than ten times better than before.
