203: Chapter 203: Extreme Rescue

Time rewinds back to a few hours ago.

Xiao Ran stood outside the light screen, his heart turning cold as he looked at the black barrier.

Li Changsheng and Su Qinghan were trapped inside, their fates unknown, while Old Liu and the members of the Monster Hunting Team could lose their lives at any moment.

He had to do something.

But he wasn't strong enough; he couldn't possibly break through this Domain jointly deployed by three Void Refinement Stage Yao Kings.

As someone at the Early Stage of Spirit Severing, he was simply no match for the Void Refinement Stage.

"What should I do?"

His mind raced, various thoughts flashing through like a revolving lantern.

At that moment, Li Changsheng's words echoed in his ears.

"Go find reinforcements. There are Body Integration Stage powerhouses stationed at the Sword Qi Great Wall; only they can break the Yao Kings' Domain."

Xiao Ran shook his head.

He feared that if he left, he wouldn't be able to save them in time.

From here to the Sword Qi Great Wall, a round trip would take at least half an hour.

Half an hour was enough for the Yao Kings to kill everyone inside.

"No, I can't leave."

Xiao Ran shook his head, a plan instantly forming in his mind.

He took a deep breath and pulled a Jade Slip from his robes.

This was a secret technique he had obtained in the Ancient Battlefield ruins: Paper Crane Transmission.

It could ignore distance and space; once sent, it would definitely reach its destination.

It was the perfect choice for delivering information.

However, it had one drawback: it required the essence blood of a Saintly Body.

It was useless to ordinary people, but Xiao Ran happened to meet the requirements.

So, he immediately decided to use the Paper Crane Transmission.

Spiritual Qi condensed in Xiao Ran's palm, and a paper crane slowly took shape.

Pure white all over, with a faint golden light flowing on its wings, it looked like a real celestial crane.

It flapped its wings, circling once in front of Xiao Ran, before flying off toward the Sword Qi Great Wall.

Xiao Ran watched it disappear into the horizon.

Then, without another word, he turned and charged toward the light screen.

...

Meanwhile.

On the battlements of the Sword Qi Great Wall.

Two figures sat cross-legged, facing the Wildlands.

They had sat here for three hundred years, keeping watch day and night, never leaving.

Through wind, sun, rain, and snow, their bodies had merged with the wall, like two stone statues.

On the left was a white-haired old man with a lean, scholarly face and a three-strand beard hanging down his chest, swaying gently in the wind.

His eyes were closed as if he were sleeping, but the surrounding Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi flowed slowly around him, forming an invisible vortex.

His Daoist title was Xuan Qing, a Void Refinement Peak cultivator who had guarded the Sword Qi Great Wall for three hundred years and killed countless members of the Yao Race.

On the right was a middle-aged man with a resolute face and a scar slashing from his left forehead to his right cheekbone, splitting his face in two.

His eyes were grayish-white without pupils, yet they emitted a heart-palpitating cold light.

This man's surname was Shi, known as Guardian Shi, also at the Void Refinement Peak.

The two remained silent, like two stone carvings.

Suddenly, Immortal Master Xuan Qing opened his eyes.

His eyes were black, as deep as the night sky, with faint stars revolving in his pupils.

He reached out, and a white paper crane flew from afar, landing in his palm.

The paper crane flapped its wings as if it were alive.

"Hmm?"

"What is this?"

Guardian Shi also opened his eyes, his grayish-white gaze fixed on the paper crane.

Immortal Master Xuan Qing didn't answer; he held the paper crane in his palm and extended his Divine Sense into it.

The paper crane turned into a beam of light and entered his forehead.

His expression changed slightly, his brows furrowing like two deep knife carvings.

"What's wrong?"

Guardian Shi asked.

Immortal Master Xuan Qing said solemnly, "In the Grey Stone Wasteland, a Monster Hunting Team is trapped by a Yao King's Domain. Someone is asking for help."

Guardian Shi frowned, his grayish-white eyes narrowing into slits.

"Could it be a Yao Race plot? Intentionally luring us out to launch a sneak attack on the Sword Qi Great Wall?"

Immortal Master Xuan Qing thought for a moment and shook his head.

"I don't know, but regardless, we must go and see."

"If it's true, the people inside are doomed. If it's false, we'll just kill a few Yao Race members to vent our frustrations."

Guardian Shi was silent for a moment, then smiled.

"Makes sense."

Immortal Master Xuan Qing stood up and patted the dust off his robes.

Guardian Shi also stood up and stretched his muscles.

The two stood on the wall, looking deep into the Wildlands.

There, the grey-black sky loomed in the twilight, like a giant eye coldly staring at the Sword Qi Great Wall.

"Let's go!"

The two transformed into streaks of light and flew toward the Wildlands.

A clear light and a black light streaked through the twilight, leaving two long tails like meteors crossing the sky.

Half an hour later, they arrived at the Grey Stone Wasteland.

From afar, they saw the black light screen.

The light screen was like an inverted bowl, covering dozens of miles.

Strange blood-colored runes flowed across the screen, and the Demonic Qi was so thick it felt substantial, compressing the surrounding air until it solidified.

"It really is a plea for help. This is the Domain of three Yao Kings."

Immortal Master Xuan Qing stopped, his gaze sweeping over the light screen.

"Overlord Tiger, Netherworld Python, Frost Wolf King. All three are present."

Guardian Shi snorted coldly, "Perfect. We'll take them all out at once."

Immortal Master Xuan Qing didn't reply.

His gaze fell on the light screen, where a small crack was widening.

Through the crack, golden Sword Qi and dark purple poisonous mist could be faintly seen; someone was attacking from within.

"Someone is cooperating from the inside."

"Who is it? To actually be able to find the weak point of the Domain?"

A flash of surprise appeared in his eyes.

Guardian Shi also saw it, his grayish-white eyes narrowing.

"Quite capable. Even we would need time to find the weakness of a Void Refinement Stage Domain, yet someone inside found it."

Immortal Master Xuan Qing nodded, "And the timing of the attack is well-managed. Only a simultaneous strike from inside and out can tear this opening."

He paused.

"Regardless of who it is, break the formation first."

The two attacked simultaneously.

Immortal Master Xuan Qing raised his hand, and a clear light flew from his palm, transforming into a hundred-zhang-long sword of light.

Phantom images of the sun, moon, and stars flowed across the sword's body, and wherever the blade passed, space was sliced open into a black rift.

He gave a low shout, and the light sword slashed toward the crack.

This strike contained a terrifying Sword Intent, which even carried some of the essence of the Sword Qi Great Wall.

This was what Immortal Master Xuan Qing had gained from guarding the Sword Qi Great Wall for many years; he had gradually comprehended the Sword Intent of the wall's original creator.

Guardian Shi's move was simpler; he just threw a punch.

The fist shadow was like a mountain, and the black light, like ink, slammed into the crack.

Within the fist shadow, there was a faint phantom of a mountain—his natal Divine Ability, the Mountain-Moving Fist.

It was said that the power of a single punch could move mountains and fill seas, possessing extraordinary might.

The two powerhouses struck together.

The overwhelming Sword Intent slashed the crack, causing it to expand violently until it looked like it was on the verge of collapse.

Accompanied by the Fist Intent of the Mountain-Moving Fist slamming into the crack, the barrier came crashing down.

The Domain jointly established by the three Yao Kings was completely destroyed at that moment.
