366: Ascending Sea Dragon Trapping Formation

Zhou Liyue traced in the air with her sword finger.

Mysterious ripples seemed to be inscribed into the seawater, yet they left no trace.

"Go!"

After finishing the inscription, Zhou Liyue left behind a Formation Flag at her side, letting it sink into the deep sea.

Zhou Liyue did not stop there, continuing to be pulled along at high speed by the blue-patterned tentacles.

Her sword finger continued to trace, and one Formation Flag after another vanished.

A moment later.

There were no more Formation Flags left beside Zhou Liyue.

"Hoo~"

Zhou Liyue exhaled, feeling physically and mentally exhausted.

Inscribing a Formation in such a short time, using a technique she had only just comprehended not long ago, had truly worn her out.

"Found you!"

At this moment, an exasperated voice reached Zhou Liyue's ears.

A treasure-blue Sword Qi pierced directly into the sea surface.

It stabbed toward the location where Zhou Liyue was traveling deep in the sea.

Zhou Liyue clapped her hands, and the giant tentacle surrounded by blue patterns suddenly loosened.

It detached from Zhou Liyue and left.

A string of bells sank back into Zhou Liyue's wrist.

A black scale as tall as a person, covered in mysterious patterns, flew out from the Storage Pouch at her waist.

"Dong~"

The Sword Qi struck the black scale.

The black scale fell.

The Sword Qi was likewise blocked.

"Rising Sea Dragon-Trapping Formation, rise!"

Zhou Liyue seized the opportunity.

She formed hand seals, and the Formation Plate floating before her vibrated wildly.

"Boom!"

The vibration of the Formation Plate grew more intense, and invisible Formation patterns spread outward.

It seemed to connect the entire sea area into one entity.

Boom!

Deep in the seabed, the Formation Flags inscribed with patterns emitted a faint light, echoing the Formation patterns appearing from the seawater.

Massive columns of water rose from the seabed.

They separated into twelve different positions, trapping the blue figure above the sea surface within.

Hum~

The twelve massive water columns connected into one, unbreakable.

Deep in the seabed, Zhou Liyue swallowed several Medicinal Pills in succession and stowed the black scale back into her Storage Pouch.

Her figure rose from the seabed and burst through the surface.

"Heh, a mere petty Formation, and you dare to try and trap me?"

Inside the Rising Sea Dragon-Trapping Formation, the young Cultivator wearing blue spirit robes sneered incessantly.

"Slash!"

He swung the treasure-blue longsword in his hand repeatedly.

Shadows of swords filled the sky, bombarding the water wall.

Zhou Liyue's heart tightened; she did not know how effective this hastily arranged Formation would actually be.

After all, even the name of this Formation was something she had thought of on a whim.

Hum~

The sky-filling sword shadows continued their bombardment.

Ripples arose from the surface of the water wall.

The water wall shook.

However, as the ripples spread, reaching the sea surface, the force of the impact seemed to be dispersed by the vast sea area.

The water wall trapping Formation immediately stabilized.

"It really works."

Zhou Liyue's eyes lit up, and she felt relieved.

Borrowing the momentum of heaven and earth for the Formation truly possessed immense power.

She had only inscribed a few Formation patterns, yet she could make the power of this sea area serve her own purpose; it was truly extraordinary.

"Damn it!"

The sneer on the blue figure's face froze, as if he had not expected this outcome.

"Fellow Daoist, what happened before was not my intention; it was just a misunderstanding, though I fear it may be difficult to clear up."

"I do not wish to be your enemy, Fellow Daoist, so let us part ways here."

Zhou Liyue did not want to be entangled any further, nor did she want to needlessly offend an enemy for the Zhou Family.

Zhou Liyue bowed with cupped hands.

Ignoring the person inside the Formation, she turned and flew away.

As for this Formation, given that she had inscribed the patterns in thin air, it would not last for long.

"You!"

The blue figure's eyes were wide with rage, and the veins on his hand holding the treasure-blue longsword bulged.

Yet, there was a sense of helplessness in his eyes.

In this short time, he had already tried most methods, but none could break through it quickly.

He feared that only by using some forbidden techniques could he break this Formation in an instant.

But if he did that, the price would be too high.

The blue figure's expression shifted.

A moment later, he sighed.

In the end, reason overcame anger.

The blue-clad youth withdrew his focus, sat cross-legged, and no longer feeling rushed, began to attempt methods to break the Formation.

Zhou Liyue, who had already traveled far away, paused.

She extended her right hand and tapped the Formation Plate floating before her.

In the distance.

Beneath the Formation trapping the blue figure.

The twelve flags quietly vanished, and the entire Formation shuddered along with them.

Inside the large Formation, the blue-clad youth's face lit up with joy.

"Nothing more than this!"

He chuckled, waved his hand, and stood up; the twelve water columns collapsed with a roar, and the entire water wall trapping Formation vanished without a trace.

...

Hum hum~

Twelve consecutive Formation Flags flew out from the seabed.

They landed on the Formation Plate before Zhou Liyue.

They spun continuously.

Zhou Liyue's heart relaxed.

Formations were the foundation of her standing.

If this set of Formation Flags, which had condensed her life's work, were lost, her strength would likely be significantly diminished.

"Third Aunt!"

At this moment, a voice came from afar, its tone urgent.

"Le Ren."

Zhou Liyue looked toward the direction from which the voice came.

She happened to see a somewhat young figure stepping over the waves toward her.

In the blink of an eye, he arrived before Zhou Liyue; seeing that she was unharmed, he let out a sigh of relief and bowed with cupped hands.

The person who arrived was none other than Zhou Leren.

"Third Aunt, did you encounter some unexpected change?"

Although Zhou Liyue had no injuries, her aura was unstable, and her hair was slightly disheveled; she appeared somewhat disheveled, clearly having encountered trouble.

Therefore, Zhou Leren still asked, feeling somewhat uneasy.

"It is nothing."

Zhou Liyue replied, but suddenly remembering the ray of spirit light that had entered her body, she was just about to check herself.

Rumble!

A massive sound came from somewhere in the Water Domain.

At the center of the Water Domain.

In the vast, boundless waters.

Suddenly, waves soared to the sky.

Stirring up roars.

A turquoise palace slowly rose from the surface of the water.

Waves of pressure, accompanied by an ancient and heavy aura, spread across the entire Water Domain.

"What is this?"

Zhou Liyue was startled and exchanged a glance with Zhou Leren.

"Let's go take a look."

Shaken by this earth-shattering roar and ancient aura, Zhou Liyue only briefly checked herself; upon finding nothing amiss, she temporarily set it aside.

Zhou Leren nodded, feeling somewhat solemn.

The two of them together turned into rays of light and headed toward the place where the roaring sound originated.

In the Water Domain.

Cultivators in various attires were all stirred by this roar and aura.

They all gathered toward the central sea area of the Water Domain.

...

Xutuo Ancient Realm.

Fire Domain.

In a karst cave.

A figure sat cross-legged before a massive, fire-red lotus.

Inside the lotus.

A simple longsword was suspended.

In the distance.

A strangely shaped dual-stinger Quenching Flame Mantis Beast looked conflictedly at the figure in the distance who had occupied its territory.

It was already somewhat fearful in its heart.

Since that figure had appeared, it had been fighting with it.

In fight after fight, that person's strength had improved rapidly, which left it feeling inexplicably terrified.

It, which had originally held the upper hand, was gradually suppressed by that person.

Until, in the end, it even lost the supreme treasure it had been guarding.

But that person did not kill it, merely sitting there cross-legged on its own, seemingly tempering that ordinary longsword.

The Quenching Flame Mantis Beast looked at the figure sitting cross-legged with eyes closed and, in the end, did not attack again.

Over this period, it had already been defeated several times.

And that was even when the person did not have that sword.

It was no longer that person's opponent.

Hum!

The Quenching Flame Mantis Beast, currently feeling dejected, suddenly felt a palpitation in its heart, a craving, coming from the depths of the Fire Domain.

This palpitation drove it crazy.

Its figure suddenly headed outward.

After only a moment, it paused and looked toward the figure before the fire lotus.

"It is of no use to me; you may go."

The figure before the fire lotus did not open its eyes, yet a detached voice reached the Quenching Flame Mantis Beast's mind.
