566: A heavy sword has no edge

“Alas, the people of the main Family are indeed abnormal…”

The Disciples from the branch families watching the battle sighed.

They thought of the news about the Upper Realm passed down by the Family.

Perhaps only in the Upper Realm could they grow faster; in the Mingyang Realm, it was still too comfortable… Nancang Domain, Guanghan Prefecture.

Amidst beautiful green mountains, there was a lake with rippling waves.

Beside the lake stood two graves.

The place was desolate, but the graves were free of weeds, indicating that someone frequently cleaned them.

At this moment, beside the tranquil lake, a white-haired figure suddenly appeared, standing silently before the two graves.

“Brother Shen, Junior Sister Yun…”

Zhou Xiuyuan’s eyes flickered. He sat cross-legged, a look of remembrance on his face… Qingzhou, Cloud Dream Marsh, at the top of the Zhou Family’s current main peak.

A figure stealthily crept among the trees, approaching the peak.

“Who’s there!”

Just then, a clear, sharp shout came from above, reaching the figure’s ears and making him tremble.

As the clear voice came.

Buzz~

A wisp of Sword Qi swiftly passed through the trees.

In an instant, it had arrived three inches before the stealthy figure’s brow.

Zhou Chuanjian was sweating profusely, without any thought of resistance.

“Which generation of Disciple are you?”

Just then.

The clear voice sounded again.

Zhou Chuanjian’s vision blurred, and he saw an heroic figure not far in front of him, with a long sword on her back, dressed in a tight-fitting outfit, and her long black hair tied behind her head.

“I am a Chuan Generation Disciple, Zhou Chuanjian.”

The wisp of Sword Qi did not advance further. As the heroic figure appeared, Zhou Chuanjian quickly took out the snake-patterned zhou character token from his waist and respectfully presented it.

The heroic figure with the long sword on her back gently waved her hand, dispelling the wisp of Sword Qi. She then drew the token to her front, glanced at it, and returned it.

“If you were not a Zhou Family Disciple, you would be a dead man by now.”

“You are lurking here, peeking at the peak. What is your intention?”

The heroic figure’s clear voice rang out.

“I… I’m not… I don’t have any intention… I just want to see Ancestor Yuan.”

Zhou Chuanjian stammered, then hardened his heart and stated his purpose.

“Oh?”

“Why do you need to see Sword Lord in this manner?”

The heroic figure raised an eyebrow and continued to ask.

“I…”

“Please punish me, Elder!”

Zhou Chuanjian sighed inwardly. He had originally wanted to ask his direct elder to intercede.

But he had been refused.

Left with no choice, he hardened his heart and resorted to this inferior strategy.

The peak was not originally a Forbidden Ground, but because Sword Lord temporarily resided there, he was able to reach this place smoothly.

“My name is Zhou Nanying, a Disciple under Sword Lord.”

“Sword Lord is out and not in Cloud Dream Marsh. What do you need to see Sword Lord for? You can tell me.”

The heroic figure glanced at Zhou Chuanjian.

“Greetings, Ancestor Ying.”

“I want to ask Sword Lord for guidance…”

Zhou Chuanjian did not hesitate and poured out all his confusion.

“Oh?”

“Show me a set of sword techniques.”

Zhou Nanying gently waved her hand, and an invisible Sword Qi swept around, enveloping the slightly dark-skinned Zhou Chuanjian and bringing him to the peak.

At the peak, following Zhou Nanying’s instruction, Zhou Chuanjian’s mind stirred, and he took out the three-foot long sword from his waist.

“Please guide me, Ancestor Ying.”

After bowing deeply.

Zhou Chuanjian’s expression became solemn, and he raised his sword to his eyebrows.

“Clear Wind Sword Art…”

Zhou Nanying nodded slightly. This was a very basic sword art, suitable for beginners.

Whoosh~

A long sword danced, and a figure moved on the peak, the sword body shining with white light.

However, Zhou Nanying, watching from the side, slowly furrowed her brows.

A moment later.

Zhou Chuanjian sheathed his sword and turned around, bowing again to Zhou Nanying, looking at her with an anxious expression.

“Have you studied Kunyuan Sword?”

Zhou Nanying did not offer guidance but instead asked Zhou Chuanjian.

“Yes, I have.”

Zhou Chuanjian was puzzled but subconsciously nodded in response. He had a natural affinity for swords and had memorized all those basic sword arts, but he was stuck at the threshold of becoming a Sword Cultivator, at the point of sensing the sword, and had never broken through this barrier.

“Should I demonstrate it?”

Zhou Chuanjian asked uncertainly.

Zhou Nanying nodded slightly.

“Use this.”

As her voice fell, a spiritual ring on Zhou Nanying’s right hand glittered.

Boom!

Dust flew.

A broad, heavy sword was thrust into the ground before Zhou Chuanjian.

“This…”

Zhou Chuanjian was slightly stunned but obediently stepped forward.

He reached out and grasped the broad, heavy sword in his hand.

“This!”

With just one grip, Zhou Chuanjian’s heart suddenly trembled.

He seemed to have found the location of his sword sense.

Buzz~

Zhou Chuanjian’s eyes lit up. He gripped the sword with both hands, circulated his full magical power, and strenuously pulled the sword out.

The heavy sword swung, stirring up a sky full of dust.

“That’s it, that’s it.”

Zhou Chuanjian’s eyes grew even brighter, as if an invisible momentum was slowly gathering.

“A heavy sword has no edge, great skill needs no embellishment. Sword Lord once said, the heavy sword lies in its momentum, not its intent. You have the momentum, you should use a heavy sword to dominate all directions…”

Clear words continuously sounded, entering Zhou Chuanjian’s ears.

Zhou Chuanjian’s heart tightened, and he absorbed everything with all his might.

Since he first touched a three-foot green blade, influenced by Ancestor Yuan, he had always used a conventional three-foot long sword and had never considered a heavy sword.

He never expected that his Dao lay here.

Boom!

The heavy sword fell, embedding itself in the ground.

Zhou Chuanjian knelt on the ground.

“Thank you for your guidance, Ancestor Ying.”

Zhou Chuanjian was immensely grateful; this was undoubtedly a life-changing favor for him.

“Hehe.”

“Don’t be so quick to be happy. You trespassed into Sword Lord’s residence without notification, you must be punished.”

Zhou Nanying said with a light chuckle.

“Do you accept it?”

“Chuanjian accepts the punishment.”

“Good, starting today, you shall carry this sword and not take it off, nor put it into a Storage Pouch.”

Zhou Nanying pointed to the heavy sword that had pierced the ground and said to Zhou Chuanjian.

Zhou Chuanjian was stunned, then stood up, pulled out the heavy sword, and carried it on his back.

Hoo~

The heavy sword caused his body to falter, but fortunately, he could still bear it.

Zhou Chuanjian descended the mountain.

Several days later.

On the peak, a white-haired figure appeared.

“Hall Master.”

Zhou Nanying opened her eyes and stood up, coming before Zhou Xiuyuan.

“A few days ago, I discovered a promising talent.”

“Oh?”

Zhou Xiuyuan’s mind stirred, and he nodded slightly. That day, he had indeed discovered several Sword Cultivator talents.

“If they are willing, admit them into the Sword Hall.”

Zhou Xiuyuan instructed.

“Yes, Hall Master.”

...Half a month later.

In Cloud Dream Marsh, figures appeared simultaneously.

Zhou Xiuchang and Zhou Xiuyuan flew up into the sky.

“The Lower Realm is entrusted to you.”

Zhou Xiuyuan said to the slightly rounder Zhou Xiuchang.

“Please rest assured, Big Brother.”

Zhou Xiuchang nodded solemnly. Although he coveted power and was unwilling to give up everything in the Lower Realm, he also knew his responsibilities.

“Good.”

Zhou Xiuyuan nodded, then bowed to the enormous, azure precious bead suspended in the sky, which depicted a phantom of mountains and seas.

The precious bead shone brightly, drawing the figures below into it.

Buzz~

The figures disappeared.

The precious bead descended, and the white-haired figure gently held it in his hand.

Buzz~

Zhou Xiuyuan gave Zhou Xiuchang a final nod, then his figure vanished.
