75: Goodbye

He curled up on the ground like a cooked shrimp, clutching his crotch and rolling frantically. Thick clouds of white acidic mist rose from between his legs, accompanied by a nauseating burnt smell.

"Big Brother!"

"Fuck! Kill him!"

The group of strong men who had been watching the show froze for a second before reacting, roaring and charging forward while brandishing their weapons.

The driver of the truck behind them shifted gears directly. The heavy truck, resembling a steel monster, let out a roar as it prepared to slam hard into the bus.

"If this were an ancient martial arts hero, they'd probably have to shout out a move name right about now, wouldn't they?"

Su Chen quipped, but his body moved like a loach. Before the crowd's clubs could descend, he used the car door as cover and slid sideways into the driver's seat.

"Sit tight!"

The moment he sat down, his left hand slammed down on a red physical button.

That was a new function he had just redeemed in the system upgrade interface—[Spatial Folding Anchor].

Although it was only the primary version, capable of distorting light and spatial coordinates within a five-meter radius for less than three seconds, it was enough.

A ripple visible to the naked eye appeared in the air, like a stone being thrown into a calm pool of water.

In the vision of the heavy truck driver outside, the bus that had been parked by the roadside suddenly 'translated' weirdly three meters to the left.

The driver instinctively jerked the steering wheel, trying to ram it.

However, that was a visual deception.

Boom—!!!

The heavy truck, having lost its aim, did not hit the bus. Instead, at sixty miles per hour, it slammed solidly into a thick concrete utility pole by the roadside.

The massive inertia caused the truck's front to crumple instantly, the windshield shattered into countless fragments, and the entire vehicle sat crosswise in the middle of the road like it was drunk, perfectly blocking the charge of the two vehicles behind it.

"Goodbye to you."

Su Chen sneered, and taking advantage of this brief chaos, he floored the accelerator.

The modified V12 Engine let out a roar. The bus, like a beast breaking free from its shackles, directly knocked aside several lackeys trying to climb the windows, crushed the gravel and weeds all over the ground, and sped away.

In the rearview mirror, the remaining two trucks attempted to turn around and pursue.

But at the moment they started, Su Chen saw the scene he had expected.

When the tires of those heavy trucks rolled over the area where the bus had just been idling, they were coated in high-concentration acidic slime from the ground.

With the high-speed rotation and friction of the wheels, a violent chemical reaction occurred between the strong acid, the rubber, and the asphalt road.

The tires of those trucks looked like they had stepped into superglue, pulling out countless thick black threads, followed immediately by the muffled sound of rubber bursting.

The several once-overbearing heavy trucks were now like cripples with broken legs, only able to roar futilely in place, unable to advance another inch.

"Whew..."

Only after confirming there were no more pursuers behind did Su Chen breathe a slight sigh of relief, his tense muscles slowly relaxing.

Although this wave was a bit messy, at least he had saved those few precious trump cards.

"Qin Ya, count the people and check the vehicle damage," Su Chen ordered through the onboard broadcast while manipulating the steering wheel to avoid cracks in the road.

However, there was only the static hiss of current in the headset; there was no response.

Su Chen frowned and was about to call again when his peripheral vision caught the internal vehicle monitoring diagram on the central control screen.

That was an internal structural diagram automatically generated after the vehicle upgrade.

In addition to the driver's cab and public areas, the system had thoughtfully divided five independent rest cabins.

At this time, the indicator lights representing Lin Mengyao in Cabin 1, Qin Ya in Cabin 2, and Ye Hongyu in Cabin 3 were all green.

But in Cabin 4, which should have been vacant and used for storing sundries, the red lock icon was flashing frantically.

Is someone inside?

Su Chen's heart skipped a beat.

He was certain that not a single person was missing from those who boarded, and no outsider had snuck in.

However, the monitoring data showed that Cabin 4 was locked from the [inside].

Furthermore, the extremely sensitive sound sensor was capturing a low, suppressed breathing sound that did not belong to anyone on the bus.

Huu... chhh... huu... chhh... That sound didn't seem human; it sounded more like the panting of some large beast before a hunt.
