77: Blood and Qi Irrigation

The roar of engines outside the window sounded like hundreds of flies vibrating their wings simultaneously, making one's head ache from the noise.

But Su Chen didn't even lift an eyelid, as if the bikers outside who wanted to tear them to pieces were just insignificant background noise.

"Auntie Zhang," Su Chen's voice wasn't loud, but it pierced through the clamor, "distribute that batch of high-energy chocolate and compressed biscuits we stored earlier. Double portions for everyone."

This woman, like the tech geek Old Mo, had been recruited from the market.

Auntie Zhang, who was hiding under a seat and trembling, froze for a moment, her hand still tightly clutching the cooking ladle she used for self-defense. "Little Su, eating at a time like this? Shouldn't we save some..."

"Eat," Su Chen said succinctly, sitting cross-legged on the faintly glowing rune disc in the center of the carriage. "There will be a lot of commotion soon. If you don't want to faint and become a burden, fill your bodies with sugar."

This wasn't some kind of employee benefit; it was clearly injecting electrolyte into dry batteries.

Watching the girls wolf down the food, Su Chen took a deep breath, and the Sacred Yang True Qi in his body began to strike his meridians like a surging river.

He raised his hand and gestured toward Lin Mengyao and Qin Ya. "You two, come here. One on each side, press down on my Jianjing Acupoints."

Lin Mengyao had just swallowed half a biscuit and was choking until her eyes rolled back. She was pulled by Qin Ya and stumbled into a kneeling position on Su Chen's left side.

"Listen, no matter what happens, do not let go," Su Chen's tone lacked its usual playful banter, replaced by a metallic coldness. "Right now, I'm like an overloaded high-voltage transformer, and you two are the only grounding wires. If you let go, I'll blow; if I don't blow, this vehicle will."

The two women were turned pale with fright by these words, their four soft palms tremblingly pressing onto Su Chen's rock-hard shoulders.

"Rise!"

Su Chen gave a low shout, and the golden airflow that had been dormant in his dantian instantly erupted.

Creeeak—!!!

A tooth-aching sound of twisting metal suddenly exploded; it was the wail emitted the moment the laws of physics were being forcibly bent.

The air inside the carriage seemed to freeze instantly, and then began to be kneaded like dough by an invisible giant hand.

The originally sturdy floorboards let out an overburdened cracking sound, yet they did not collapse. Instead, they eerily 'grew' and extended deep into the ground.

The originally cramped hard plastic seats were dismantled, suspended, and reorganized like building blocks.

Veins popped on Su Chen's forehead; the consumption of forcibly driving space-folding far exceeded his expectations.

His vision began to fill with blood, and the once-clear world became surreal and distorted.

In that moment of blurred vision, his peripheral vision caught a hint of something unusual in the shadows of the back row.

It was Chen Wei.

This woman didn't panic like the others to find something to hold onto; instead, she was curled up in a corner like a venomous snake.

Su Chen's enhanced dynamic vision keenly captured her pulling a thin tube glinting with a cold light from the top of her sock—it wasn't a weapon, it was a sampler.

Want to draw my blood? While I'm at my weakest?

An imperceptible cold sneer curled at the corner of Su Chen's mouth.

He indeed couldn't move right now, as all his energy was being used to suppress the violent energy within his body, but that didn't mean he was meat on a chopping block.

"Ugh!" Lin Mengyao let out a cry of pain. The high temperature radiating from Su Chen's shoulders burned her palms red, but she bit her lip hard and didn't move an inch.

Qin Ya's side was trembling even more, sweat soaking the collar of her professional outfit, outlining a breathtaking curve.

"Almost there... Open for me!"

The breaking point was reached.

Su Chen suddenly reached back and grabbed the two women's wrists, no longer passively enduring, but actively guiding.

Two streams of pure Yin female aura flowed in through his arms, instantly neutralizing the parching Yang Energy that was about to spiral out of control.

Boom—

A visible transparent ripple swept outward in all directions with Su Chen as the center.

There was no explosion as imagined, only a sense of weightlessness rising from the depths of the soul.

When everyone's vision returned, they were all dumbfounded.

The originally cramped, tin-can-like carriage had vanished.

In its place was a massive duplex space of at least five hundred square meters.

The ceiling had been raised by a full three meters, and soft simulated daylight lamps shone down, lighting the place as bright as day.

"Ah—!"

Accompanied by a series of screams, the girls slid down a newly generated ramp into a sunken area.

There, where the chassis originally was, a huge pool tank emitting wisps of steam had appeared out of thin air—it wasn't ordinary water; pale golden spots of light floated on the surface, and just one whiff of the steam made one feel all exhaustion vanish.

Sacred Spring Pool, manifestation successful.

"Is... is this magic?" Auntie Zhang stared wide-eyed at the open kitchen that had suddenly appeared beside her. The shiny stainless steel stove and double-door refrigerator made her feel like she was dreaming. She instinctively protected her territory, waving her ladle to drive away a few girls who wanted to get closer. "Don't move! These are supplies given by Little Su. Anyone who dares to steal a bite, I'll break her hand!"

In the midst of the chaos, Su Chen seemed to have been drained of his strength, slumped on the rune disc and gasping for breath.

His gaze passed through the chaotic crowd and precisely locked onto the location of the core hydraulic rod.

In the most intense second of the spatial vibration just now, he had heard a soft 'click'.

At that position, there was now a small black disc that didn't belong to the vehicle's original equipment.

A jammer bomb.

This woman, Chen Wei, certainly had some tricks.

This thing wouldn't detonate now, but when the space folded again or encountered a high-frequency energy impact, it would turn this area into a meat grinder.

Su Chen didn't go to dismantle it immediately.

He just calmly withdrew his gaze, then stood up shakily with Qin Ya's support.

"Joey," Su Chen's voice was raspy, carrying an unquestionable authority, "don't play dead. Go to the outer deck and clear out the beacons left by your colleagues. If there's one missing, I'll throw you into that pool to make soup."

Joey, who was huddled at the ventilation duct opening observing the situation, shuddered. Her scalp felt numb under the gaze of this man who seemed to see through everything.

Without a word, she grabbed her tool bag and crawled out of the maintenance hatch.

"Su Chen, are you okay?" Lin Mengyao looked at Su Chen's pale face, her tone rarely carrying a hint of panic. She tried to reach out to support him, but her hand slid off due to the sweat on Su Chen's body.

"I won't die. I'm just a bit... weak."

Su Chen pushed the two women away and staggered to the edge of the newly generated Sacred Spring Pool.

He didn't take off his clothes, simply falling backward into the warm pool water.

The water rippled as golden energy entered his body through his pores, and the bone-deep fatigue began to slowly recede.

Su Chen kept his eyes closed, seemingly enjoying this rare peace, but in reality, all his attention was focused on the rearview mirror directly in front of him.

In the mirror, Chen Wei was reflected with her back to the crowd, pretending to tidy her clothes.

When she turned around, her delicate face wore a relieved smile of having survived the disaster, but from Su Chen's perspective, that smile's corners and brows clearly hid a cunningness after success and a hint of anticipation for the impending catastrophe.

Want to play Infernal Affairs?

Su Chen gently rubbed his fingers underwater, feeling the gradually returning strength.

Fine then, since the stage is set, I'll play along with you.

It just so happens that this 'party for everyone' to celebrate the housewarming still needs a sacrificial offering to liven things up.
