337: A unique way to inherit the talisman

Lancang Immortal City, the backyard of Linjiang Inn.

Linjiang Inn was right by the Lancang River. Lancang Immortal City was incredibly vast, with the entire Lancang River flowing through the city, and many inns lining its banks.

A gentle breeze swept across the river, bringing with it moist water vapor.

By a simple stone table in the courtyard, Xiao Zhuo was watching Wang Xianyu busy herself with great interest.

Wang Xianyu was specifically preparing a meal for Xiao Zhuo here, using her own ingredients and utensils.

The young girl had changed into a simple, elegant dress, her sleeves rolled up to reveal half of her fair wrists.

In front of her, a small jade cauldron floated, spiritual flames danced beneath it, and spiritual spring water gurgled within. Several emerald-green immortal lotus leaves unfurled, enfolding some kind of luminous white beast meat. A delicate fragrance, mixed with the aroma of lotus leaves, wafted through the air.

Cloud, her newly acquired companion, was obediently crouching at her feet, her nine fluffy little tails swaying contentedly, their pink tips brushing the ground.

“Young Master, this is steamed jade crystal clam meat, unique to the bottom of the Lancang River, supplemented with morning dew and century-old immortal lotus leaves. It’ll be ready soon, and is exquisitely sweet and tender,” Wang Xianyu said, her face filled with focus and a hint of hopeful anticipation, as if presenting a treasure.

Xiao Zhuo nodded slightly, his gaze gentle.

Just then, Wang Xianzhi’s figure floated over, and behind him, a human figure, like a startled quail, almost pressed against the shadow of the courtyard wall, stumbled and “shuffled” in.

It was none other than Sect Master Tyrannical Wind of the Guanlan Sect.

At this moment, where was even a shred of his former majesty as a True Immortal powerhouse and a regional leader?

His face was ashen, cold sweat beaded on his forehead, and he completely disregarded the dust clinging to his magnificent Sect Master robe.

His gaze swept around, instantly locking onto Xiao Zhuo, who sat by the stone table with an ordinary aura, like a Mortal youth.

Although there wasn’t a trace of immortal power fluctuation on Xiao Zhuo’s body, and even a sweep of Divine Sense was like a mud ox entering the sea, Tyrannical Wind’s heart felt as if it were gripped by an invisible giant hand, almost stopping its beat!

This must be him!

That terrifying existence who had effortlessly crushed his Canglang Hand and prevented him from even conceiving a thought of resistance!

He didn’t even dare to spare a glance at the young girl cooking nearby or the Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox cub.

“Thud!”

Without the slightest hesitation, Tyrannical Wind’s knees slammed heavily onto the bluestone slab in the courtyard, letting out a dull thud.

He prostrated himself, his forehead pressed tightly against the cold stone surface, his voice trembling uncontrollably with extreme subservience:

“Junior Tyrannical Wind! Sect Master of the Guanlan Sect! Ignorant of the immensity of heaven and earth, I offended Senior’s esteemed Disciple! I deserve ten thousand deaths! Ten thousand deaths cannot atone for my sin! I beg Senior for mercy! Please forgive this Junior and the Guanlan Sect for our ignorant offense! If Senior has any commands, the Guanlan Sect is willing to serve as your humble servants, dedicating the entire Sect’s strength to repay Senior’s grace of not killing us!”

He spoke extremely fast, his posture lowered to the dust, every word imbued with bone-deep fear.

Wang Xianzhi had already landed behind Xiao Zhuo, looking at Tyrannical Wind, who just a short while ago had possessed overwhelming power and regarded him as an ant, but was now prostrate on the ground like a mangy dog. Fury churned in his eyes, and he was seething with indignation.

If not for Young Master being present, he would have immediately summoned heavenly lightning to strike this shameless scoundrel into ashes!

Xiao Zhuo, however, seemed to have heard nothing.

He didn’t even spare a glance at Tyrannical Wind kneeling on the ground, merely picked up a cup of clear tea that Wang Xianyu had just presented on the stone table, gently blew away the foam, and took a sip.

Wang Xianyu just smiled at her brother’s appearance and continued to focus on cooking the delicious meal.

Xiao Zhuo’s gaze remained fixed on the clam meat in the jade cauldron, which was gradually emanating an enticing luster, as if nothing in the world was as important as this Soon-to-be-served delicacy.

Tyrannical Wind’s heart sank to rock bottom.

This silent disregard terrified him more than any reprimand or punishment. He felt like an ant that could be accidentally crushed to death by the other party at any moment; the other party didn’t even have the interest to crush him.

Cold sweat soaked his back, and the shadow of death enveloped his heart.

He suddenly remembered the greatest secret within that Immortal Cave. Perhaps... this was the only way he could pique the other party’s slight interest and thereby secure a chance at survival!

“Se-Senior!” Tyrannical Wind’s voice was tearful, and he kowtowed even lower. “This Junior did not intend to offend! It’s just... it’s just that within True Monarch Bibo’s Immortal Cave, there is an astonishing treasure hidden! This Junior was momentarily blinded by greed! That Immortal Cave is not an ordinary Legacy, but the fundamental reason True Monarch Bibo once dominated—the complete Legacy of the Void Realm Spaceless Teleportation Divine Talisman!”

“Oh?” Xiao Zhuo’s hand, holding the teacup, paused slightly, and he finally lifted his eyelids, his gaze falling upon Tyrannical Wind for the first time.

This subtle movement made Tyrannical Wind feel like a drowning man grasping at a life raft. He trembled with excitement and quickly spoke, like pouring beans from a bamboo tube: “Absolutely true! Senior, please believe me! Although True Monarch Bibo was only a True Immortal, his Talisman Dao talent was unprecedented! The teleportation Talisman he independently created could ignore most Space Law seals and Formation obstructions, traveling thousands of miles in an instant, elusive as ghosts and gods! Back then, he relied on this Talisman to snatch that small grotto-heaven from under the noses of several Heavenly Immortals! The Old Ancestor of this Junior’s Sect, who is in slumber, was one of the Heavenly Immortals who participated in the siege back then and has coveted this Talisman for a long time! This Junior... this Junior was also acting on the Old Ancestor’s orders...”

He dared not mention the words “snatching treasure” again, only wishing to divert the attention of this existence.

“Teleportation Divine Talisman?” Wang Xianzhi was stunned. He hadn’t had time to carefully sort through the Legacy after obtaining it, only feeling that the Legacy information was vast as a sea, seemingly enveloped by layers of Restrictions requiring gradual comprehension.

Now, hearing Tyrannical Wind’s words, he immediately realized something. Forgetting his anger, he quickly sat cross-legged, his mind sinking into his Sea of Consciousness, concentrating his will to impact the Legacy Restriction.

With Xiao Zhuo by his side, his mind was incredibly stable.

A moment later, his Sea of Consciousness burst with light, and a massive stream of information about the Void Realm Spaceless Teleportation Divine Talisman surged in!

The principles of the Talisman, the refining techniques, the rare Materials needed, and even True Monarch Bibo’s unique insights into Space Law... all were revealed before his eyes!

“Young Master!” Wang Xianzhi suddenly opened his eyes, his face a mix of wild joy and shock, no longer holding any hatred for Tyrannical Wind, only excitement for this Legacy.

He unhesitatingly took out a Jade Slip from between his eyebrows, which glowed with a deep, watery blue light and was covered with countless profound silver runes. He respectfully presented it to Xiao Zhuo with both hands, “Shortened name was foolish, unable to discover this treasure immediately! Please take a look, Young Master! This... this Talisman Dao is simply incredible!”

Xiao Zhuo took the Jade Slip and probed it with his Divine Sense.

In an instant, countless ingenious ideas about Space Law Talismans, exquisitely constructed runes, and innovative methods for spatial node jumping... surged into his perception like a vast galaxy.

Even with Xiao Zhuo’s Realm and knowledge, a flicker of genuine surprise couldn’t help but cross his eyes.

“Void Anchors... Law Resonance... Energy Folded Leaping... This child independently created another method of integrating Law into Talismans. According to his conjecture, the Dao also has the potential to be integrated into Talismans! Wonderful! Truly wonderful!” Xiao Zhuo nodded slightly, his tone carrying a rare hint of appreciation. “This child’s talent and ingenuity can be called a genius of the Talisman Dao. If he hadn’t fallen too early, given time, the Golden Immortal Realm would certainly not have been his end, and he might even have opened up a new world for the Talisman Dao. What a pity...”

He put down the Jade Slip, his gaze once again sweeping over Tyrannical Wind, who was still kneeling on the ground, not daring to breathe loudly.

“Rise,” Xiao Zhuo’s voice was calm, showing no emotion. “Given that this Legacy is somewhat interesting, your life, and your Guanlan Sect, will be spared for now.”

Tyrannical Wind felt as if he had received a great amnesty, his body relaxing, almost collapsing to the ground. He quickly kowtowed several more times with loud thuds: “Thank Senior for the grace of not killing me! Thank Senior for your mercy!”

He knew that the other party had said “for now,” and that his life and the continued existence of the Guanlan Sect were entirely at the other party’s whim.

He cautiously got up, but dared not stand straight, maintaining a half-bowed, subservient posture.

His gaze fell upon Wang Xianzhi, who was both excited by receiving the Legacy and shocked by Young Master’s evaluation. The Guanlan Sect Master’s eyes darted, and his mind immediately became active.

This person was a Disciple of a great power! His future was boundless! If he could establish a connection... “This... Little Friend Shortened name!” Tyrannical Wind’s face instantly filled with extremely sincere (at least, it appeared so) apology and eagerness. He bowed deeply to Wang Xianzhi, “Previously, This Wang was blinded by greed and offended Little Friend Shortened name greatly. I truly deserve ten thousand deaths! Little Friend’s extraordinary talent, having obtained this miraculous Talisman Dao opportunity, and with Senior’s guidance, your future achievements are bound to be limitless! This Wang and the Guanlan Sect are willing to compensate you with all our strength. Whatever Little Friend commands, we will go through fire and water, without hesitation!”

His posture was even lower than before, and his tone was utterly humble, completely disregarding his True Immortal status to fawn over a Nascent Soul Junior.

As long as he could establish a connection, what was a little face?

Wang Xianzhi looked at Tyrannical Wind, who was like a completely different person, and felt a wave of disgust, but more than that, a sense of absurdity.

He snorted coldly, turned his head away, and couldn’t be bothered to deal with this shameless scoundrel who was arrogant at first and then obsequious.

He remembered this grudge, but since Young Master had spoken, he wouldn’t say anything more.

Xiao Zhuo ignored Tyrannical Wind’s performance, as if he were just a buzzing fly. He looked at Wang Xianyu: “Is the meat ready?”

“Ah! It’s ready! It’s ready! Young Master, please wait!” Wang Xianyu awoke as if from a dream, quickly extinguished the spiritual flame, and carefully used jade chopsticks to pick up the translucent clam meat, exuding the fresh scent of lotus leaves and the sweet taste of jade clams, placing it into the jade dish in front of Xiao Zhuo.

Xiao Zhuo picked up a piece, tasted it carefully, and a look of satisfaction appeared on his face: “The doneness is just right. Xianyu’s culinary skills have improved even further.”

Just then, a faint clamor could be heard from outside the inn.

Clearly, the major powers in the city, carrying heavy gifts, had already swarmed in, eager to meet that mysterious and terrifying existence.

Xiao Zhuo’s brow furrowed almost imperceptibly.

He tossed the Jade Slip back to Wang Xianzhi and said to him, “Since you have already obtained the Legacy, leaving that grotto-heaven in its original place would be a waste. Follow This Wang to retrieve it.”

Before his words finished, without any visible action from him, a soft, clear light instantly enveloped Wang Xianzhi, Wang Xianyu, and Cloud who was curiously peering from her feet.

“Senior! Little Friend Shortened name!!” Tyrannical Wind, seeing this, still wanted to make one last effort to assert his presence.

However, with a flash of clear light, the spot was already empty, leaving only the curling tea smoke on the stone table and a half-eaten dish of warm jade clam shells.

Tyrannical Wind stood frozen in place, looking at the empty courtyard, then at the dish of delicious food that even that existence had praised. His expression changed erratically, finally turning into a long sigh, filled with lingering fear and relief, and a deep regret in his eyes for failing to establish a connection.

He knew that this immense disaster, which could have overthrown the Guanlan Sect, had at least been muddled through.

For him, it was an immense stroke of luck.

Immediately, he prepared to return to the Sect to inform the Sect of the three people’s appearances, instructing the Sect Disciples to be more restrained and by no means to provoke these three again.

Meanwhile, Xiao Zhuo and the other two had already arrived at the entrance of the grotto-heaven that had appeared.

Wang Xianzhi raised his hand and took out a three-inch spherical jade crystal.
