462: Desperate Situation

"Ninth Brother! Stop playing dead! You can't escape—"

Feng Ziyi's voice, like a Nine Heavens thunderclap, rumbled across the sky, making the entire mountain range hum. Several birds in the distance scattered in fright, and even the flowing clouds in the sky were rippled by the sound wave, which contained immortal power.

Boom!!!

Half of the mountain rock suddenly exploded, fragments raining down. Two silver lights shot out, like Dragons emerging from the sea. Wherever they passed, rocks turned to dust, and smoke and dust filled the air like a thick fog, obscuring the setting sun on the horizon.

Feng Changge supported the remaining cave wall with one hand, his knuckles white from the effort.

He walked with difficulty to the broken opening, the sharp pain in his chest making every breath feel like a needle prick.

He forcibly suppressed the metallic taste in his throat, but his gaze was like cold lightning, fixed on the opulent figure in mid-air:

"Feng Ziyi... Father Emperor Undergoing Tribulation failed, Soul Flying Away and Spirit Scattering—was it your doing?!" His voice was hoarse, yet it carried an undeniable accusation.

"Ninth Brother, do you think so little of me?" Feng Ziyi chuckled, his robes fluttering in the wind. His posture was as elegant as a banished immortal, but his eyes were full of mockery. "I have always been most filial to Father Emperor, heaven and earth can attest to it. How could I do such a rebellious thing?"

"Is that so?" Feng Changge steadied his breath, his voice growing colder, as if it were tempered with ice. "You knew early on that I had secretly taken control of the core of the Wind Capital Immortal Array... You knew that if you initiated a succession battle within the city, with the power of the Immortal Array, you would have no chance of winning."

He paused, feeling the almost depleted spiritual power within him, and continued, "Therefore, only by forcing me out of the city would you have your only opportunity."

"And the only thing that could force me out of the city—was a national mourning."

He spoke each word like a knife or a sword, precisely cutting through all the false curtains, exposing the bloody truth before everyone.

As his words fell, Marquis Wuwei and Shadow exchanged glances, their eyes flickering, their hands gripping their weapons tightening slightly.

They were originally the Great Feng Emperor's most trusted left and right arms, ordered to assist the First Prince, Feng Ziyi.

But if the Emperor's death was truly related to the person before them... then their loyalty would become a huge joke, wouldn't it?

Feng Ziyi, however, paid no attention to their hesitation. He only transmitted a message secretly, his voice laced with a smile, a smile so cold it lacked any warmth: "Ninth Brother, you are indeed clever... your plans are far-reaching, you can even quietly control the Immortal Array. Unfortunately, your elder brother is even better, and even more ruthless than you!"

He suddenly raised his voice, like throwing an iron command, his voice piercing the clouds: "Marquis Wuwei! Shadow! Kill—!"

Feng Changge's pupils constricted, his heart sinking completely to the bottom.

He stared fixedly at Feng Ziyi, his eyes burning with rage, almost scorching his own Divine Soul.

That was Father Emperor... the father who taught them Cultivate hand in hand, who would sternly scold them when they made mistakes, but would also quietly come to check if they were sleeping soundly in the middle of the night. Compared to him, Father Emperor clearly doted on Feng Ziyi more... He, actually had the heart to do it! For the Supreme position, he could even murder his father and his sovereign!

And in the next moment—

A flicker of struggle passed through Marquis Wuwei's eyes, eventually replaced by ruthlessness.

He let out a low roar, and the bronze battle-axe in his hand, inscribed with ancient runes, surged in the wind. The runes lit up with dazzling light, and in an instant, it became as huge as a mountain, carrying the force of ten thousand tons, stirring the wind and clouds, and crashing down!

A giant shadow instantly enveloped Feng Changge completely, the strong wind pressing him so hard he could barely breathe.

Almost simultaneously, Shadow's figure mysteriously merged into the light. The next moment, the Earth-Grade High Grade dagger "Nether Kiss" in his hand transformed into an almost invisible black thread, silent yet fast enough to tear through vision, bypassing the formidable power of the battle-axe, and shooting towards Feng Changge's glabella from an extremely tricky angle!

They were already deeply bound to Feng Ziyi, not just themselves, but even the Family behind them. Let alone having no evidence, even if Feng Changge's conjectures were all true, they could not turn back!

The chill of death instantly seized Feng Changge's heart.

The few layers of magic power shields he had exhausted his last strength to set up were as fragile as thin paper before the full-power strike of these two Quasi-Immortals.

He could even clearly feel the chilling aura emanating from the black thread, enough to freeze the Divine Soul, and the terrifying pressure brought by the mountain-like battle-axe, which threatened to crush his Physical Body into a pulp.

He closed his eyes, a trace of endless bitterness and self-mockery on his lips.

He had calculated everything, the entire situation in Wind Capital, but he hadn't calculated that Feng Ziyi would be so insane, so deranged... But—

Just at this moment of life and death!

The pair of silver twin moon wheel, which had been quietly suspended in the air after shattering the scattered stones, seemed to possess a life of their own. Like startled silver swallows, they emitted a clear, resonant hum, suddenly turned back, instantly crossed space, and firmly protected him in front of him!

The twin moon wheel rotated at high speed in opposite directions, and the ancient and complex patterns on their blades lit up one after another, blooming with dazzling immortal radiance. In an instant, they condensed into an incomparably solid, rippling silver light curtain!

Above the light curtain, even more profound runes faintly flowed ceaselessly, emitting a heart-palpitating, vast fluctuation.

"Boom!!!"

The deafening roar echoed!

The giant shadow of the battle-axe and the sinister black sword-thread simultaneously slammed heavily onto the silver light curtain!

However, the seemingly thin light curtain contained unimaginable toughness. The heaven-shaking attacks of the two only stirred up layer after layer of violent ripples, spreading wildly outwards, but they were consistently unable to break through that thin layer of silver glow!

The terrifying shockwave that erupted spread out violently in a ring shape in all directions, instantly leveling the upper half of the entire mountain peak where Feng Changge was located!

Giant rocks shattered, trees turned into wood chips, and smoke and dust shot up into the sky, as if the end of the world had arrived.

Only a section of the mountain wall behind the silver light curtain, like a reef in a turbulent current, miraculously survived.

Feng Changge was lifted by a gentle force, suspended in mid-air, and looked up in astonishment.

A figure in green robes had appeared silently in front of him at some unknown point. His robes fluttered in the raging energy storm, but his figure was as steady as a mountain, as if he had been standing there from the very beginning, eternally so.

"Feng Changge."

Xiao Zhuo did not look back, only spoke indifferently, his voice calm and unruffled, yet it clearly penetrated the roar of energy and reached his ears.

"Our transaction is not yet complete, how could I let you die?"

"...Senior Xiao." Feng Changge's throat was dry, and for a moment he didn't know what to say.

The relief of surviving the calamity, the shock at Xiao Zhuo's unfathomable strength, and the worry about the current predicament—all kinds of emotions intertwined.

"Fool." Xiao Zhuo's voice was still indifferent, but it carried a hint of subtle admonition. "I told you long ago that I left a trace of immortal power in the twin moon wheel. If you had activated it earlier, why would you be in such a sorry state? How could these mere chickens and dogs harm you in the slightest?"
