109: Fight for inheritance

The Jade Fire Lion played just such a role.

As a Yao Beast, it possessed powerful combat strength and the unique king's inheritance that allowed it to command millions of Yao Beasts.

Under its unified command, different races of Yao Beasts could unite and launch beast tide attacks.

Furthermore, if humans appeared in the Xiantian Realm, the Jade Fire Lion could also intervene to block them, or mobilize Yao Beasts to encircle and attack them.

But now, the Jade Fire Lion is dead!

Everything ceased to exist!

The beast tide immediately turned into a disorganized mess, and the conflicts between the Yao Beasts would intensify, ultimately leading to mutual slaughter.

The only option now was to retreat.

“Given the circumstances, this is the only way. You all find your respective tribes and withdraw from the Twenty-eighth City! Remember, you must be quick, but your movements must be small. Absolutely do not let humans discover anything amiss.”

The Golden Lion sighed helplessly.

“Naturally!”

“We are not fools.”

“We absolutely cannot let humans discover anything amiss, which could lead to unforeseen calamities for our tribes.”

The Demon Beast Leaders nodded in agreement.

But strangely, not a single Demon Beast Leader left to find their own tribe.

A mysterious silence.

After a while, finally, one Demon Beast Leader spoke, “Everyone, aren't you going to find your own tribes?”

“We're not in a hurry!”

“Why aren't you going?”

“I still want to mourn for our Lord.”

The other Demon Beast Leaders chimed in.

Another period of silence.

Finally, one Demon Beast Leader couldn't hold back and said, “Alright, stop pretending! Everyone isn't leaving, isn't it all for the king's inheritance?”

As soon as these words were uttered, it was like a single stone stirring up a thousand ripples.

All the Demon Beast Leaders' expressions became strange.

That's right, they refused to leave precisely for the king's inheritance.

Every Yao Beast in the Xiantian Realm is called a King of Yao Beasts.

They possess the ability to command all Yao Beasts, and can even gather all Yao Beasts to launch a beast tide.

This is a unique talent of the King of Yao Beasts.

And once a King of Yao Beasts falls, their corpse is the supreme treasure for other Yao Beasts.

Once the corpse of a King of Yao Beasts is devoured, one can gain some insights from the King of Yao Beasts' life, laying the foundation for a Yao Beast to enter the Xiantian Realm.

This is also one of the unique Legacy methods of Yao Beasts.

All the Demon Beast Leaders stared at the Jade Fire Lion's corpse.

They wanted to devour it and gain the insights of its becoming a King of Yao Beasts.

But no one spoke of it, only hoping to trick the other Demon Beast Leaders into leaving so they could act freely.

Unexpectedly, someone actually blurted out the truth.

Now, these Demon Beast Leaders simply stopped pretending.

“Everyone, I belong to the same Lion tribe as our Lord. Its king's inheritance would be most suitable for me, wouldn't it!”

The Golden Lion spoke loudly, determined to obtain the Jade Fire Lion's corpse.

“Nonsense! The Golden Lion tribe and the Jade Fire Lion tribe are miles apart. How do you have the Face to say that our Lord is of the same tribe as you? In my opinion, our Lord is a fire-attribute Yao Beast, and its Legacy is most suitable for me, who is also fire-attribute.”

The Fire Crow immediately retorted.

It naturally wouldn't give up such an astonishing Treasure Trove.

“Since ancient times, treasures have always belonged to the virtuous. Neither the Golden Lion nor the Fire Crow tribe is the best choice. Our Ice Elephant tribe has always had good prestige among Yao Beasts, so the king's inheritance should belong to us,”

The Ice Elephant Leader said, eager to move.

“My Icefire Demonic Wolf does not agree.”

“My Hurricane Eagle tribe also wants a share.”

“...”

Not a single Demon Beast Leader was willing to give up, their gazes fixed on the Jade Fire Lion's corpse.

At such a moment, if anyone dared to make the first move, they would definitely become the target of all, attacked by the entire group.

“So, it seems you all don't intend to let go? Then we'll have to settle it with our strength!”

The Golden Lion said, enraged.

It was the highest in status and strongest in power among the beast tide, apart from the Lord.

The other Demon Beast Leaders actually showed it no Face, attempting to covet the king's inheritance, so it naturally wouldn't let them off.

“Precisely my thought!”

“It's not yet decided who will win!”

“Then let's fight!”

As they spoke, seven or eight Demon Beast Leaders gathered together.

These were all Yao Beasts in the Late Acquired Realm, knowing that in a one-on-one situation, they were no match for the Golden Lion, who was in the Houtian Huajin Realm. They planned to join forces to kill it first, then discuss the ownership of the Jade Fire Lion's corpse.

“Heh heh, you want to join forces, do you? A group of ants, even if you join forces, you're still a group of ants. How can you shake the position of a high and mighty lion?”

The Golden Lion was unconcerned.

Saying so, it took the initiative to attack.

Seeing this, the seven or eight Demon Beast Leaders quickly joined forces to resist.

But the difference of a minor Realm was simply too great.

Coupled with the Golden Lion's inherently terrifying racial talent, with a single strike, it actually forced these seven or eight Demon Beast Leaders back several steps.

“Everyone, are you just going to watch? In a one-on-one situation, we are no match for the Golden Lion!”

“That's right, we must prioritize killing him, and then decide the ownership of the king's inheritance.”

“The king's inheritance can only increase our chances of entering the Xiantian Realm; it's not a 100% guarantee of success. We can completely divide the king's inheritance equally.”

“That's right, once the king's inheritance falls into the Golden Lion's hands, he will absolutely not share a single bit.”

This group of Demon Beast Leaders quickly incited the other Demon Beast Leaders who were still observing to act.

With just one strike, they realized that they were no match for the Golden Lion.

More Demon Beast Leaders had to join them and work together.

“Heh heh, stop daydreaming! Although the king's inheritance only increases our understanding of the Xiantian Realm and cannot 100% help us enter the Xiantian Realm, everyone knows that the more king's inheritance one obtains, the greater the possibility of entering the Xiantian Realm. Why would they join forces with you?”

The Golden Lion quickly spoke.

No matter how strong it was, it couldn't Face so many Demon Beast Leaders at once.

Moreover, there were two others who were also in the Houtian Huajin Realm, which gave it a headache.

“You two, why don't the three of us join forces to first eliminate these fools who are trying to covet the king's inheritance, and then discuss the ownership of the king's inheritance?”

The Golden Lion looked at the other two Demon Beast Leaders in the Later Heaven Transformation Realm.

Only these two made it feel threatened.

“That would be excellent!”

“We are only one step away from becoming a King of Yao Beasts, and the king's inheritance is most important to us.”

The two Demon Beast Leaders nodded.

In the world of Yao Beasts, it's also the survival of the fittest; they didn't care to associate with other Demon Beast Leaders.
