33: Mysterious Fragments

As a Martial Artist, one's Cultivation, the Martial Arts Cultivated, and the weapons used are all indispensable.

Any one of them could decide the final outcome in battle.

If one's Realm is inferior to the enemy's, they will be suppressed.

If one's Martial Arts are inferior to the enemy's, they will be countered throughout the entire battle.

If one's weapon is inferior to the enemy's, they might not even have a chance to attack.

After all, no matter how strong your Realm is or how exquisite your Martial Arts are, you wouldn't dare to rashly approach a master wielding a Divine Sharp Weapon while unarmed.

No matter how hard your fists are, can they be harder than a weapon?

Except for a few Martial Artists who Cultivate Body Refining techniques, most Martial Artists would not choose to clash head-on with an enemy.

“As for weapons, we’ll need to go to the Wanbao Pavilion in the North City.”

The Weisuo Man truly earned his living this way.

As soon as Shen Xi made his request, he immediately thought of a suitable place.

Wanbao Pavilion is a place specializing in selling weapons and is well-known even in the Outer City.

The two rushed to Wanbao Pavilion without stopping.

When Shen Xi explained his purpose to the steward, the other party wasted no time and immediately produced a catalog.

“Our shop has a total of six hundred and twenty-one Unranked weapons and forty-eight Acquired weapons. May I know which type of weapon you intend to purchase?”

Weapons, like Martial Arts, are also divided into Unranked, Acquired, Innate, Yellow-Grade, Profound-Grade, Earth-Grade, and Heaven-Grade.

However, Wanbao Pavilion only has Unranked and Acquired level weapons; higher-grade ones need to be purchased in the Inner City.

Shen Xi opened the catalog, which contained a complete array of swords, spears, staffs, axes, halberds, and forks.

After careful consideration, Shen Xi chose a pair of Acquired-grade gauntlets.

Benlei Eight Styles is a fist technique, and gauntlets are most suitable for Shen Xi now.

“The kuanglei gauntlets, when used, can carry electric light, which can paralyze enemies. You have excellent taste!”

The steward flattered him.

Shen Xi said nothing, only nodding slightly.

He was specifically interested in the electric light paralysis effect of the kuanglei gauntlets.

The Benlei Eight Styles already carried the power of lightning, and combined with the kuanglei gauntlets, the effect would be far more than one plus one equals two.

This was a weapon that perfectly matched the characteristics of the Martial Arts he was currently Cultivating.

“However, the kuanglei gauntlets are not cheap!”

The steward spoke again.

The kuanglei gauntlets are an Acquired-grade weapon, already valuable, and with an additional effect, their price soared even higher.

“How much is it? Let me see?”

The Weisuo Man quickly leaned over, and upon seeing the price marked in the catalog, he couldn't help but gasp.

kuanglei gauntlets: 1.2 million.

This was even more expensive than the value of Martial Arts!

“Only 1.2 million.”

Shen Xi didn't haggle, directly taking out the money he had just exchanged from the Cang Wu Pavilion and placing it on the table.

Seeing the money, the steward's eyes immediately lit up.

He looked at Shen Xi fawningly and quickly called his subordinates to retrieve the kuanglei gauntlets from the warehouse.

In a short while, the transaction was completed.

Shen Xi was about to leave Wanbao Pavilion.

Just then, the corner of his eye caught sight of a fragment of unusual material, neither metal nor wood.

For some reason, in the back of his mind, Shen Xi had a familiar feeling.

This made him involuntarily slow his steps.

“Do you have any other instructions?”

The steward quickly asked.

Shen Xi had taken out 1.2 million in one go, which made him dare not be negligent.

This person was a god of wealth; if he served him well, he might even be able to earn another sum.

“What is this fragment?”

Shen Xi squatted down and picked up the fragment from the corner.

It was very heavy in his hand; though only palm-sized, it weighed at least a hundred catties.

This made Shen Xi realize that this fragment was definitely not ordinary.

“You mean this fragment!”

The steward said with some disappointment.

He had thought Shen Xi had taken a fancy to another weapon and intended to make a large profit, but he didn't expect the other party to be curious about a mere fragment.

“This is just trash used to prop up a table leg. Although our Artifact Refiner has appraised it and believes this fragment should be part of a powerful weapon, that weapon has already shattered, and a fragment is not worth much. If you like it, it's yours.”

The fragment had been in Wanbao Pavilion for some time, and the steward naturally knew its astonishing weight.

But besides that, there was nothing special about it.

Even after several appraisals by Wanbao Pavilion's Artifact Refiner, they couldn't analyze anything conclusive, only guessing that it was something left behind after a weapon shattered.

It was precisely because of this that Wanbao Pavilion didn't care about the fragment at all, casually tossing it into the corner.

“Then thank you.”

Shen Xi didn't decline, putting the fragment into his storage bag.

He always felt this fragment was not simple.

“It is my honor to satisfy you.”

The steward replied respectfully.

He was practically cheering inside.

An worthless fragment exchanged for Shen Xi's good impression was definitely a profitable deal.

If Shen Xi could develop a good impression of Wanbao Pavilion because of this, he would come back to Wanbao Pavilion to spend when he had future weapon needs, which was equivalent to cultivating a long-term, stable major customer.

How could the steward not be happy?

“Hmm!”

Shen Xi said nothing more, nodded, and left again.

Today's itinerary was complete, and he had purchased everything he needed.

Shen Xi didn't waste time; after giving the Weisuo Man his remuneration, he had him lead him to a nearby hotel to check in.

After a day of busyness, it was time to settle down.

The Weisuo Man grinned from ear to ear after receiving the money.

Normally, when he guided guests around Zhu Feng City, it would involve more than ten hours of accompaniment, and some guests even wished he would be on call twenty-four hours a day after paying for a single day.

Guests like Shen Xi, who only visited a few places and promptly paid, were truly rare.

“Then shall I pick you up at the hotel tomorrow?”

The Weisuo Man asked before leaving.

The two had agreed earlier that Shen Xi would hire the Weisuo Man for ten days.

“No need. I have other things to do tomorrow. You just need to give me your contact information, and when I need you, you can appear. Of course, even if I don't contact you, the remuneration that should be paid will not be less.”

Shen Xi waved his hand.

This made the Weisuo Man's face beam like a flower.

Where could one find such a customer?

Little work, lots of money. If every day were like this, wouldn't he be able to make money just by lying down?

Of course, the Weisuo Man naturally wouldn't say such things to Shen Xi's face, only thinking them to himself.

“This is my business card. Get some rest.”

Leaving his contact information, the Weisuo Man departed.
