168: Chapter 168 Is the Avalanche Over?
Bo Saixi gave him a faint glance and ignored him, preparing to walk straight past.
Seeing this, Xue Beng immediately reached out to stop her, his expression turning serious. "Do you know who I am?"
Bo Saixi's gaze turned slightly cold. When Xue Beng met her eyes, he felt an inexplicable pressure and subconsciously took a step back.
Xue Beng was momentarily stunned; this scene felt so familiar.
He thought of Supreme Pontiff Bibi Dong; he had also been frightened back by a single look from her once.
Xue Beng bit his tongue to confirm he wasn't dreaming and that the woman before him wasn't Bibi Dong.
His confidence returned, and he let out a cold snort. "I am Heaven Dou's Fourth Prince Xue Beng. This prince is bestowing upon you the grace of becoming a consort!"
As Xue Beng spoke, he reached out to touch her. Bo Saixi's expression shifted slightly, and a surge of Soul Power erupted from her like a gale. Xue Beng, having no resistance, was blown away and crashed heavily into a stall, attracting the attention of many passersby.
"It's the Fourth Prince again. She actually dared to hit him; this woman must be a powerful Spirit Master!"
"This scene, this way of falling... why does it feel so familiar? Last time, the Fourth Prince fell exactly like that."
"She's dressed so well, her status probably isn't simple. She must be from that noble family!"
Bo Saixi watched as the crowd gathered, then slightly raised an eyebrow and walked away.
"You can't leave!"
Xue Beng crawled up, enduring the pain, and pointed a finger at Bo Saixi.
Beaten in the street again!
What did they take him, Xue Beng, for?
He didn't believe she could be more formidable than the Supreme Pontiff!
The city patrol knights soon heard the commotion and approached.
Seeing it was Prince Xue Beng...
They didn't even need to think to guess that Prince Xue Beng had provoked a woman—and a woman he couldn't handle himself.
"Seize her! You offended the Imperial Family and still think you can leave?"
"Today, this prince will show her exactly who Prince Xue Beng is!"
Xue Beng gave the order, and the knights immediately obeyed, blocking Bo Saixi's path.
Hum!
As dozens of knights stepped forward, a wave of Soul Power surged from Bo Saixi, sweeping the knights into the air and flinging them away like sandbags.
"Fifth Spirit Ability, Bronze Wall Iron Bastion!"
One of the knights lit up his only black spirit ring while in mid-air.
His body expanded rapidly, his clothes nearly bursting.
He landed steadily, like a thousand-pound weight hitting the ground, creating a massive crater.
He looked at Bo Saixi, his eyes unable to hide his fury and caution. All his men had been overturned; the opponent was at least a Spirit King, or perhaps even stronger.
"Damn it, catch her! Don't let this prince lose face any longer!"
"This prince wants to show her the consequences of provoking me!"
Xue Beng glared and shouted.
Hum!
Just as Xue Beng finished speaking, killing intent surfaced in Bo Saixi's eyes.
A blast of Soul Power surged forward; the ground beneath her feet turned into seawater, instantly forming a massive wave.
"Fourth Prince, watch out!"
Seeing this, the knight rushed forward without hesitation, intending to block the strike and claim a great merit.
The knight initially thought he could easily withstand the wave, but the moment he touched it, he was swept up. The waves crashed against his Bronze Wall Iron Bastion body, tearing through his defense. Blood sprayed, followed by a wretched scream.
Only then did the knight realize how vast the gap was between him and his opponent.
He could do nothing now but scream helplessly.
Xue Beng's face paled. Just as he was about to flee, the wave reached him and pulled him in. Caught in the crushing currents, the tearing pain in his body made his miserable cries echo through the street.
"Aaaah!"
In just a moment, the screams of Xue Beng and the knight ceased, and their bodies vanished along with the waves, leaving not even a bone behind.
The onlookers were all stunned, shocked by the woman's power and even more astonished that she had killed the Fourth Prince.
"The Fourth Prince is dead... she, she really killed the Fourth Prince!"
"Killing a prince in the street... even people from the Three Upper Sects aren't as bold as her!"
"The woman is gone! She escaped!"
Seeing Bo Saixi suddenly vanish, the onlookers also fled in all directions, fearing they would be implicated.
News of the Fourth Prince's murder quickly spread throughout the city.
A large number of city guards arrived to secure the scene and search everywhere for the woman with long, water-blue hair.
Crown Prince's Mansion.
Xue Qinghe was handling some affairs when Snake Lance Douluo suddenly approached and handed over a file.
"Young Lord, a message from Spirit City!"
Xue Qinghe paused, took the file, and her expression soured upon seeing the contents.
"Spirit Hall wants to deal with the three Education Commissioners: Meng Shenji, Bai Baoshan, and Zhi Da!"
"These three have already shown intent to align with me; they would have become part of the Crown Prince's Faction soon!"
"These three cannot die!"
Snake Lance Douluo spoke up: "Young Lord... this is the Supreme Pontiff's order. The Saint will personally carry out the judgment and is likely already on his way!"
Xue Qinghe's fingers tightened, her grip so strong the envelope was nearly crushed. "That woman still insists on having her way!"
"Young Lord, these three intended to completely break away from Spirit Hall. Since that's the case... the Supreme Pontiff's order isn't necessarily inappropriate..." Snake Lance Douluo whispered a reminder.
"Heh, once they join my faction and I take control of Heaven Dou in the future, they would naturally be my people, and thus Spirit Hall's people... By doing this now, she is merely depleting her own strength!"
Xue Qinghe set the envelope on fire and said calmly, "Reply to her—my people do not need her to deal with them..."
"This..."
Snake Lance Douluo was momentarily unsure of what to do.
Should he listen to the Supreme Pontiff?
Or the Young Lord?
"Elder Serpent Lance, don't forget whose person you are!"
"When you left, what did my grandfather say to you!"
Xue Qinghe shifted to a businesslike tone, even carrying a hint of a warning.
"Understood!"
Hearing the mention of the High Priest, Snake Lance Douluo no longer hesitated.
Just as he left, a guard ran in frantically.
"Your Highness, this is bad! Something huge has happened!"
"What is it?"
Xue Qinghe looked at the panicked man before her, a trace of dissatisfaction in her brow.
The guard hurriedly said, "Reporting to Your Highness, the Fourth Prince is dead! He was just killed in broad daylight. He was wiped out completely in front of everyone; many people saw it!"
"What..."
Xue Qinghe's expression changed abruptly, and a flicker of worry appeared in her eyes.
It wasn't because of Xue Beng, but rather whether Emperor Xue Ye would suspect her.
When the Second and Third Princes died mysteriously, Emperor Xue Ye already had some suspicions about her. He had even dropped hints in secret that, regardless of the truth, she should not move against Xue Beng.
Now, only a few years later, Xue Beng was dead.
Xue Qinghe felt a bit of a headache, but then she realized that since all of Emperor Xue Ye's sons were dead, even if he suspected her, he had no other choice—unless a consort could conceive again.
"Who did it? How could they be so bold!"
Once Xue Qinghe thought it through, curiosity took over.
Xue Beng was still a prince; who would dare to kill him so openly?
