Eternal Sacred Ruins
Early the next morning, White Night finished breakfast, opened the Game Panel, and chose to enter the “divine selection” world.
Not long after.
White Night stepped through the Light Gate and entered the divine selection world.
This time, it was a new world.
Before him was a broken ruin. The ground was paved with dark gray gigantic stones, and black moss grew in the cracks, giving off a faint electric sensation upon touch.
Vague Thunder Patterns were carved on the distant broken walls and remnants, subtly echoing the patterns on the Eternal Divine Tower.
What surprised White Night the most was that the layout of the ruins felt strangely familiar.
The tilted stone pillars, the half-collapsed arches, and even the scent of sandalwood mixed with blood lingering in the air were exactly the same as the Sacred Ruins next to the Eternal Plaza.
“This is...” He abruptly turned his head, only to see the outline of a towering spire vaguely standing in the mist at the end of the ruins. The faint golden light flowing over the tower body pierced through the haze—it was the Eternal Divine Tower!
The new map he entered was actually the depths of the Sacred Ruins next to the Eternal Plaza!
Previously, he had only explored the outskirts of the Sacred Ruins, never imagining that this time he would come directly to its depths!
White Night took a deep breath and stepped into the depths of the ruins.
The deeper he went, the clearer the surrounding Thunder Patterns became, and the carvings on the broken walls transformed from vague Thunder Patterns into specific images.
There were warriors clad in Battle Armor fighting Faceless Humanoid Creatures, the Thunder Sovereign wielding a Long Sword to cleave chaos, and scenes of the Eternal Divine Tower absorbing world energy.
“Are these images... recording the history of the divine selection world?”
He stopped to observe a Mural, which depicted a group of Faceless Humanoid Creatures pouring out of a rift, frantically attacking the Eternal Divine Tower, while the warriors around the tower desperately resisted.
Just then, the mist ahead suddenly churned, and a humanoid figure slowly walked out.
It was entirely covered in grayish-white Scales, and faint purple blood vessels could be vaguely seen beneath them.
Its physique was comparable to an adult male, but it had no facial features; its face was a smooth grayish-white expanse.
It held a Long Saber condensed from Bone Remains and thunder, and the blade emitted the aura of the Sixth Transition Initial stage.
It was a Divine Abomination! Exactly the same as the Divine Abomination he encountered outside the Eternal Divine Tower!
Upon seeing White Night, the Divine Abomination made no superfluous movements, merely turning slightly sideways as the Bone Saber left an afterimage, slashing directly at White Night's neck.
Its speed was extremely fast, and the blade made no sound as it sliced through the air, as if it could absorb surrounding sound waves.
White Night's eyes narrowed slightly. He did not immediately use his Demigod Power, but instead sidestepped to avoid the attack, simultaneously raising his hand to press down on the Divine Abomination's wrist. He wanted to test the Divine Abomination's strength and fighting style.
The moment his fingertips touched the Divine Abomination's wrist, a bone-chillingly cold force traveled up his arm. This force was unlike thunder or Demonic Energy; it was more like pure “Nihility,” attempting to dissolve the energy within his body.
The Divine Abomination reacted extremely quickly, its left hand suddenly transforming into a Bone Claw, grabbing toward White Night's chest. The tip of the claw shimmered with the same grayish-white light as the Bone Saber.
“Interesting.” A thunder pattern flashed beneath White Night's feet, activating the Time-Space Thunder Step. He shifted three *zhang* horizontally, avoiding the Bone Claw. At the same time, the Eternal Demon Blade was unsheathed. The blade was not infused with thunder, but simply used pure strength to slash at the Divine Abomination's waist.
Clang!
The blade struck the Divine Abomination's Scales, producing a sharp metallic clang.
Only a shallow white scratch was left on the Scales, but the Divine Abomination used the recoil force to take half a step back. The Bone Saber was swung out again, this time with a more cunning trajectory, gliding along the ground and slashing directly at White Night's ankle.
White Night leaped into the air, his gaze fixed on the Divine Abomination's joints, where the Scales were relatively sparse—seemingly its weak point.
He was not in a hurry to attack, but continued to move, observing the Divine Abomination's attack pattern.
The Divine Abomination's fighting style was extremely concise, without any unnecessary movements. Every swing of the saber or strike of the claw aimed directly at a vital point, as if it had undergone millions of training sessions to form an optimized attack pattern.
It did not defend or dodge; it only attacked at the fastest speed, as if its sole purpose was to destroy everything in sight.
“No Self-Awareness, a pure Fighting Machine?” White Night made a judgment in his heart.
He attempted to release a trace of Thunder Law. The grayish-black thunder was absorbed by the grayish-white Scales on the Divine Abomination's body the moment it approached, causing no damage.
“Immune to partial Thunder Law?” White Night raised an eyebrow. He stopped holding back and decided to end this probing match.
He no longer held back his speed, pushing the Time-Space Thunder Step to its limit, leaving several afterimages around the Divine Abomination.
Although the Divine Abomination's Bone Saber was fast, it could not lock onto his True Body.
Taking advantage of the moment the Divine Abomination turned, White Night finally infused the Eternal Demon Blade with the Power of Thunder. The blade glowed with grayish-black light and precisely slashed toward the Divine Abomination's neck, the spot where he had observed the thinnest Scales.
Pfft!
The Bone Saber fell to the ground, and the Divine Abomination's head rolled away, but its body did not fall, remaining in the posture of swinging the saber. The grayish-white Scales quickly lost their luster and dissipated into dust.
White Night watched the spot where the Divine Abomination dissipated, his brow slightly furrowed.
What exactly are these Divine Abominations? Why do they appear around the Eternal Sacred Ruins and the Eternal Divine Tower? What do the records on the murals mean?
Filled with questions, he continued deeper.
Half an hour later, the mist ahead suddenly cleared, and a dilapidated Treasure Hall appeared before his eyes.
The gate of the Treasure Hall had long since collapsed. Only half of the two Stone Lion statues in front of the gate remained, yet they still emitted a faint Divine Radiance.
Stepping into the Treasure Hall, the sight inside made White Night's pupils contract sharply.
On the stone shelves lining both sides of the main hall, rows of Crystal Bottles were neatly arranged, containing various colored Potions.
There were Experience Potions glowing with golden light, Recovery Potions flowing with green liquid, and Potential Potions shimmering with seven-colored light.
He counted roughly, finding at least 100,000 bottles, and every single one was Mythical Grade!
“So many Mythical Grade potions!” White Night walked up to the stone shelf and picked up an Experience Potion to examine it.
Just as he was about to put the Potion into his Backpack, footsteps came from outside the hall.
“Hahaha! We've struck it rich! There are actually so many Mythical Grade Potions in this Treasure Hall!” A rough voice sounded, and immediately after, five figures walked into the hall.
They were wearing matching dark red Battle Armor, engraved with burning Flame Patterns. The emblem on their chests was a soaring Fire Hawk.
They were Professional Fighters from the Fire Hawk Civilization.
Leading them was a One-eyed Strong Man, holding a Giant Axe burning with fierce flames. His aura reached the Sixth Transition Middle stage, and the four people behind him were all Sixth Transition Initial stage combat power.
The One-eyed Strong Man saw White Night, and a trace of contempt flashed in his eyes: “Blue Star Civilization? Only Level 400? How dare trash of such a low level come to the Eternal Sacred Ruins?”
A Fire Hawk Warrior behind him chimed in: “Captain, this kid probably stumbled in by accident, right? Level 400 doesn't even qualify you to participate in high-level map exploration in our Fire Hawk Civilization!”
Another warrior stared at the Potion bottle in White Night's hand, licking his lips: “Kid, hand over the Potion you're holding, then kneel down and kowtow three times. Maybe our Captain will spare your life.”
White Night turned around and looked at them calmly: “Scram.”
“What did you say?” The One-eyed Strong Man looked as if he had heard a great joke. “A piece of trash from a low-level civilization at Level 400 dares to tell us to scram?” He raised his Giant Axe, and the flames on the axe blade surged. “Today, I'll show you what High-Level Civilization combat power is!”
The Giant Axe struck with the might of burning mountains and boiling seas. The flames transformed into a Fire Hawk in the air, opening its massive mouth to bite White Night's head.
The power of this strike was enough to severely injure a Sixth Transition Initial stage Professional Fighter.
White Night didn't even draw his saber; he simply raised his hand and made a grasping motion toward the Fire Hawk.
Grayish-black thunder instantly erupted, forming a giant hand. The moment the giant hand grasped the Fire Hawk, the flames quickly extinguished as if meeting ice. The giant hand then squeezed, crushing the Fire Hawk, along with the flames on the Giant Axe, into fine specks of light.
The One-eyed Strong Man's expression changed drastically, and the hand gripping the Giant Axe trembled slightly: “Sixth Transition? No, this is... the Divine Aura of a Demigod?!” He finally felt the Divine Aura emanating from White Night, and the contempt in his eyes instantly turned into fear.
“So what if you're a Demigod? You're only Level 400! There are five of us and only one of you!” The Fire Hawk Warrior behind him shouted, trying to sound brave while holding back fear. Simultaneously, they summoned their weapons, preparing to surround and attack.
White Night's gaze turned cold, and the Demigod Power within his body slightly fluctuated.
“Courting death.”
His figure flickered, transforming into a pale purple streak of thunder light, weaving among the five people. The Eternal Demon Blade had unsheathed unnoticed, its blade interwoven with grayish-black thunder and Faint Golden Divinity. Every swing of the saber was accompanied by the end of a life.
The first Fire Hawk Warrior didn't even see White Night's movement before being decapitated by a single slash.
The second warrior's Flame Shield was split open like paper, and his body was burned to charcoal by the thunder.
The third warrior attempted to cast a Teleportation Skill to escape, but was fixed in place by the Space Penetration Law and stabbed through the heart.
The fourth warrior knelt down begging for mercy, but was still swept away by the Saber Light, dissipating along with his pleas.
The One-eyed Strong Man was terrified out of his wits and turned to rush out of the Treasure Hall, but was blocked by White Night at the doorway.
“M-mercy! I am the Captain of the Nine Star Guild of the Fire Hawk Civilization. If you kill me, our Guild won't let you off!” he threatened incoherently, his Giant Axe having long since fallen to the ground.
White Night ignored him. With a flash of Saber Light, the One-eyed Strong Man's head rolled onto the ground, his eyes wide open, filled with unbelievable terror.
After dealing with the people from the Fire Hawk Civilization, White Night put all the Potions into his Backpack. The total number was exactly 120,000 bottles.
He glanced outside the hall; the aura of other Professional Fighters was faintly approaching in the mist.
“It seems this Eternal Sacred Ruins is more lively than I imagined.” White Night gripped the Eternal Demon Blade, his eyes calm.
He was not in a hurry to leave. Instead, he carefully searched inside the Treasure Hall, hoping to find more clues about the Divine Abominations and the Eternal Sacred Ruins.
On the stone wall at the end of the main hall, he discovered a Hidden Door. Behind the Hidden Door was a Secret Room, and on a stone platform in the center of the Secret Room lay an Ancient Book made of animal hide.
He opened the Ancient Book. The text inside consisted of Ancient Runes he had never seen before, but the moment he touched the runes, the information was transmitted directly into his mind—
[The Eternal Sacred Ruins, the Land Where Gods Fell. Divine Abominations emerge, the world collapses; the Divine Tower stands, order remains...]
The information was intermittent, yet it stirred up a storm in White Night's heart.
The Land Where Gods Fell? Are Divine Abominations related to the collapse of the world? Does the Eternal Divine Tower exist to maintain order?
Countless questions flooded his mind. Just as he wanted to continue interpreting, more concentrated footsteps suddenly came from outside the hall. This time, the auras far surpassed the Fire Hawk Civilization, with several even reaching the Sixth Transition Peak stage!
White Night closed the Ancient Book and put it into his Backpack.
It seems that quietly exploring the Sacred Ruins is impossible...
