240: The director was frustrated

The Director thought a lot, but he refused to admit that his own greed led to this situation.

He had already given his all to join the organization, so what was wrong with being a little greedy and striving for a bit more for himself?

It was all because this President was too unappreciative.

However, he also knew that at this moment, he could only compromise, otherwise, there would be no way to continue the discussion.

He had been a Director for so long, he still had that much awareness.

"President, what do you think of this number?" The Director extended his fingers again.

The President smiled faintly, waved his hand at the crowd by the door, and all of them withdrew.

"Director, your spirit is truly admirable," the President said, extending his hand, "Then I wish us a pleasant cooperation."

...An hour later, 155 Fortress, Bingyan Office.

There were no customers today, and the two front desk assistants were dozing off.

Suddenly, the office door was pushed open forcefully, startling them both awake instantly.

"What happened? What's going on, huh?"

The front desk assistant immediately looked up, only to find it was the Director in his black robe.

"Di-Director, you..."

The two front desk assistants nearly had their souls scared out of them the moment they saw the Director.

Normally, the Director's presence was already quite oppressive, but today it was even more so.

The Director exuded an aura of "I'm not to be trifled with" and "I'm very angry." Anyone who ran into him at this moment would be in for a lot of bad luck!

Sure enough, one of the front desk assistants merely took a step forward and was struck squarely by the enraged Director's flying sleeve.

"Get lost!" the Director cursed angrily, completely ignoring the front desk assistant who was slammed against the opposite wall, and proceeded to pull back the curtain of the cubicle and stride inside.

"Are you okay?" The other front desk assistant quickly went to help his colleague, "Why did you bump into him? Didn't you see that the Director was angry?"

"Ow... it hurts, take it easy." The assistant being helped grimaced in pain, "I don't know why I took a step forward. Sigh, what an uncalled-for disaster."

"It seems the Director is truly angry this time, but to make our Director so furious, the other party must not be a simple character either."

Beyond the cubicle was the backyard, where many people were present. Seeing the Director enter, they all said, "Hello, Director."

"Hello, Director."

Today, however, the Director had no desire to communicate with them, so he waved his hand, signaling them not to bother with greetings.

These people immediately fell silent. It was no joke, everyone could sense the oppressive atmosphere around the Director, and at this moment, they wished they didn't have to speak to him.

Because of this, they didn't even dare to breathe loudly.

Only after the Director passed them did they one by one breathe a sigh of relief, and the sound of their gasping filled the courtyard.

The Director walked through the courtyard to the back, stopping in front of an anti-theft door.

He pulled out a key from his storage bag and opened the anti-theft door.

But that wasn't all; behind the anti-theft door was another iron door.

This iron door was new; it had no rust and even reflected light.

He could even see his own reflection on it.

Although he was still wrapped in a black robe at this moment, the anger and despondency in his eyes could not be hidden.

Damn guild! Damn President!

Isn't he just relying on the guild's intelligence department that can gather information?

What's so great about that!

If that guy knew about the organization behind him, he probably wouldn't even have time to kowtow and beg for mercy!

The Director took out another key, carefully opened the iron door in front of him, and then pushed it open to enter.

He turned to close the door again, then slowly walked inside.

Before him was a long corridor, with several rooms on the right side, but their doors were all tightly shut.

The Director did not look at those doors but walked straight ahead, all the way to the end of the corridor, where there was another iron door.

This time, however, he did not pull out a key but gently knocked on the reflective iron door.

"Come in," a voice with an echo came from inside.

The Director pushed open the iron door and entered, then turned to close the door. Only then did he remove his hat and mask, revealing his true face.

"Oh, what's wrong?"

The person who had spoken from inside the iron door was wearing a white protective suit, completely encased within it, not a single strand of hair escaping.

The body inside the protective suit was very bloated, looking less like a human physique.

The mask was, of course, still on, but he had an extra layer of protection compared to the Director: large, fog-prone goggles.

He had originally been holding a test tube and observing it, but after the Director entered, he put the test tube back on the shelf and walked towards the Director.

"I didn't expect to be played by someone," the Director found a chair and sat down, leaning back in relaxation, clearly trusting the person in front of him.

"Oh? You say that, and I'm a little curious to meet that President."

"Go, go, go, just stay here and don't go out, or you'll scare a bunch of people to death."

The Director sighed helplessly, his gaze falling on the "person" opposite him.

He wore a protective suit, wrapping himself tightly, not to be as spotless as a doctor.

Beneath that pure white protective suit was... "Heh heh heh..." He chuckled foolishly, his vocal cords seemingly emitting sounds not belonging to a human.

However, the sound quickly stopped, so brief that one might think it was their imagination.

"Director, actually, you know, that so-called guild is nothing compared to the organization above us. If you want to get even, why don't you let me help you with an experiment, ah ha ha ha."

Upon hearing this, the Director's eyes widened: "Who wants to do that kind of experiment! Go busy yourself, don't mind me."

"That's truly a shame, heh heh heh..."

The "person" went inside to continue tinkering with his test tubes, while the Director sat quietly alone in the chair, recalling the scene of his confrontation with the Guild's President just now.

Damn it, it's truly infuriating.

The guild would not be involved in the internal reshuffle of the Axe Gang at all. Even if he brought the Bingyan Office to intervene, it would only be a covert matter. On the surface, Bao Hui and Xiong Mao were still clashing.
