289: Can what you, a child, say count?

“This house has long belonged to the Su Family.” Zhuang Sanming knew what they were planning all along.

The house, it was impossible for him to give it to them!

“You’re just a child, what you say doesn’t count!” Father Zhuang quickly retorted, “This house is an asset left by your father, who is my elder brother. You have no right to decide its ownership!”

“Exactly! You’re just a child, how can what you say count?”

Mother Zhuang was definitely on Father Zhuang’s side; their purpose in coming was to occupy this house.

“This house was left to me by my father. I’ll give it to whoever I want.” Zhuang Sanming’s tone was cold. As long as he was here, no one would ever think of snatching this house.

At worst, he would just beat them up. It was no big deal.

Anyway, such relatives were better off not having.

“You can’t say that. This house was built with the help of us relatives back then.” Father Zhuang held his head high, looking completely justified.

Zhuang Sanming was so angry he laughed: “Didn’t my father help you build your house?”

“And I remember very clearly, my parents once said that when you two were about to get married, there were no empty rooms in your home. It was my parents who contributed money and effort to help you build a new house. If it’s as you say, then shouldn’t the ownership of your house belong to my father?”

When Zhuang Sanming refuted them, his logic was clear, and every word was reasonable.

Father Zhuang blinked and said, “You, you’re just quibbling!”

“You’re the one quibbling!”

Father Zhuang suddenly said at this moment, “Heh heh… Don’t think that if you don’t give me this house, you’ll still be able to live here.”

He looked at Father Su and Mother Su, and said contemptuously, “You should have felt it recently, right? Everyone looks at you with disdain.”

Hearing these words, Father Su and Mother Su were both a little stunned.

Because it was indeed true.

They had felt it as soon as they started work. Their formerly familiar colleagues in the Mall seemed to avoid them like the plague. They used to gather often to chat and talk, but now no one was willing to approach them. Even if they had to interact for work-related matters, it would only be a few hurried words before they quickly left.

On their way to and from work, when they saw neighbors, they would try to say hello. But as soon as people saw them, they would turn and walk away, not answering even when asked.

They were all very puzzled, wondering what was going on, and then Father Zhuang revealed it.

“Actually, this is very normal.” Father Zhuang’s eyes darted around, his gaze falling on Zhuang Sanming, “After all, your precious nephew got involved with the Axe Gang…”

“Tsk tsk, do you think the Guild can still tolerate you?”

After Father Zhuang finished speaking, he burst into laughter, as if he already had victory in his grasp.

“Exactly, only we still care about your house. Otherwise, you wouldn’t even be able to sell it!”

Zhuang Siwei, who was still spitting blood, wasn't staying put and was acting extremely overbearing.

“Aunt, Uncle, I…” Zhuang Sanming gritted his teeth. Ultimately, this matter was all his fault.

If it weren’t for him, the Su Family wouldn’t have gotten involved with the Axe Gang, and Su Duo wouldn’t have died.

If it weren’t for him, why would the neighbors be avoiding the Su Family members?

And the staff in the Mall, they usually had very good relationships with Father Su and Mother Su!

But now… everyone considered the Su Family and the Axe Gang to be heinous villains, unworthy of staying in the Mall, and even less worthy of staying in the Guild.

Yes, that’s what they all thought.

Especially since they hadn’t seen anyone from the Axe Gang appear at the Su Family’s home these past few days, so they intensified their badmouthing of the Su Family behind their backs, saying that they had befriended the Axe Gang but ultimately gained nothing, and were now abandoned by the Axe Gang, which made them even more scorned.

They would only say: See? This is what happens when you get involved with the Axe Gang!

The people of the Axe Gang are all vicious criminals, and those who befriend them are no good either!

When they said these things, they completely forgot what had happened on the day of Su Duo’s funeral.

“This isn’t your fault.” Father Su shook his head. He never thought this was Zhuang Sanming’s fault.

“How is it not?” Father Zhuang snorted, “Now, because of the Axe Gang, no one in the Guild is willing to approach your family. Only we relatives are still willing to visit.”

“I advise you to honestly hand over the house, and I can still give you some travel expenses out of consideration for us being relatives.”

“Anyway, you’ll have to move out sooner or later. The Guild can’t tolerate vicious criminals like you. When the house gets snatched by others, it’s better to hand it over to us relatives.”

Father Zhuang spoke with a sanctimonious air, and he even thought he was particularly reasonable.

As if Zhuang Sanming truly could only survive by giving them this house.

“Hello, is this Zhuang Sanming’s home?”

Just as things were getting tense, someone suddenly arrived at the door.

“Who are you?” Father Zhuang had clearly already claimed the house as his own, speaking like the man of the house.

“I’m from the Guild’s Intelligence Department. My surname is Liu, just call me Xiao Liu. Uh… which one of you is Mr. Zhuang Sanming?”

Xiao Liu first politely introduced himself, then asked if Zhuang Sanming was present.

Father Zhuang didn’t understand what was happening, so he didn’t answer.

“That would be me. May I ask what you need me for?” Zhuang Sanming walked out from behind, seemingly having already guessed Xiao Liu’s intention.

“This is your employment notification. If it’s convenient for you, please report to the rare ore sales post at the Guild Mall within three days.”

Xiao Liu took out an envelope and handed it to Zhuang Sanming.

Zhuang Sanming hadn’t said anything yet, but Father Zhuang couldn’t hold back: “What? Are you sure this employment notification wasn’t given to the wrong person??”

Zhuang Sanming should have been ostracized by the entire Guild!

How could he still be assigned such an important position?

The rare ore sales post, this was a position Father Zhuang had once dreamed of.

Other positions only allowed four days off a month, but the rare ore sales post only required working two days on the weekend, working two days and resting five!!

And that wasn't all; if you rested a lot but earned little, that would be acceptable, but this position not only had short working hours but also high pay!

It was even higher than the monthly salary of ordinary employees like them who worked diligently!

Father Zhuang and Mother Zhuang didn’t work at the Mall; they worked elsewhere, but their salaries were roughly the same as those of the Mall staff.

Xiao Liu didn’t understand why Father Zhuang asked that. He frowned and said, “No, according to the address registered during the interview, this is correct, and the age also matches.”

“Mr. Zhuang Sanming, once you’ve decided, you can just go to work. I’ll be leaving now.”

After Xiao Liu finished speaking, without waiting for Father Zhuang to ask anything else, he turned and left.
