101: Chapter 101 The first target is you!

Inside the Floating City, Xu Qin carefully studied every piece of intelligence sent back by the Sand Rats.

This intelligence was all about James of the Dragon Race.

Out of the five dragons, only two were currently combat-ready. The other three were in the nest, recovering from their injuries.

And the nest itself? It was a shallow pit made of piled stones, with charred beast bones scattered in the center.

Besides that, there were no defensive facilities. That is right, not even a decent fence.

Seeing this, Xu Qin was full of questions.

"Just this?"

"This is the nest of the Dragon Race?"

"No wonder the Dragon Race develops so quickly; it turns out they do not need to build their territory?"

"This is too simple, right?"

He pulled up the reconnaissance footage of the Angel Race and Demon Hunter Race camps to compare the three.

The Angel Race at least had stone ramparts and a light formation on the perimeter. The Demon Hunter Race was even more impressive, with three layers of black iron caltrops and dark energy traps; even a fly would lose a layer of skin trying to get in.

After looking at those, he looked back at James's side: an open-air pit with dragons lying inside sleeping.

Xu Qin's mouth twitched as he muttered to himself:

"This is absurd, truly the definition of absurdity."

"What are these dragons doing all day? Are they just foraging for meat?"

But on second thought, it made sense. The development logic of the Dragon Race must be completely different from other races.

James did not need a territory; he himself was the territory. With five dragons lying there, no lord dared to approach within several kilometers.

Therefore, for him, the nest was merely a place to hatch offspring. If the dragons are there, it is a city. If the dragons are not, it is just a pit.

"Perhaps this is what they call balance."

Xu Qin stood up.

On the small map on his command panel, he marked the location of the dragon nest with a red cross.

"The first target is you!"

The reason was simple.

The Angel Race could not be killed; even if killed, they could resurrect, making any attack a waste of effort. It was better to keep the Angel Race around as a nuisance.

The forty Demon Hunters of the Demon Hunter Race were huddled together for defense, and their camp was heavily fortified. A frontal assault would likely result in the other two factions swooping in to steal the fruits of his labor.

Only the Dragon Race remained. They were absurdly strong individually, but their nest was essentially defenseless, making it convenient for a blitzkrieg.

"At worst, I will just throw in ten thousand Bone Beasts and play a suicide bombing strategy!" Xu Qin said viciously.

The reason for his confidence was that James was showing signs of exhaustion. The Sand Rats observed that the three injured dragons not only had damaged wings but were even having difficulty eating.

James had to take two healthy dragons out to forage every day, fighting from ten kilometers away to twenty, and from twenty to thirty. The nearby lords were either eaten or had fled long ago.

Xu Qin stroked his chin, analyzing the greatest weakness of the Dragon Race.

"Could it be... that the weakness of the Dragon Race is their appetite?"

Five dragons ate the meat of thousands of unit corpses every day. This consumption was an astronomical figure for any lord.

The reason James attacked other lords everywhere was not because he was warlike, but because he would starve to death if he did not fight.

"For a race that relies on stealing food, as long as I target the timing of his foraging..." Xu Qin nodded.

Yes. While he is out foraging and the nest is empty, I will strike directly.

Over the next two days, the Floating City began to wander around the ruins. Today it mined to the east for three hours, and tomorrow it dug to the south for two hours. Five thousand Troglodytes pretended to work on the surface, looking like a construction crew moving bricks from afar.

Xu Qin even specifically sent messages to chat in the Human Race channel.

Xu Qin · Undead Race: There is so much iron ore here! It is much better than the Oasis I stayed at before.

Li Wei · Human Race: You are really here just to mine...

Xu Qin · Undead Race: Otherwise? That relic clearly does not look like something I can grab.

Barton · Dwarf Race: Ha, you have self-awareness.

Xu Qin closed the channel and curled his lips. Still the "harmless to humans and animals.jpg" look.

Meanwhile, thirty meters underground, three hundred Sand Rats had thoroughly scouted the situation at the dragon nest. At the same time, a Sand Rat squad had silently infiltrated the interior of the ruins.

Ten minutes later, the intelligence was sent back. Xu Qin opened it.

[wasteland saint stele]

[Restriction: Only the lord can touch and move the stele. Units and hero units cannot interact with the stele.]

"As expected..." Xu Qin nodded. If the units could move it, James would have let a dragon carry it in its mouth and fly away long ago.

Conversely, this also meant that the reason the three lords had been deadlocked for so long was not because they could not defeat each other. It was because the lords dared not go in personally.

The moment they entered, they would expose themselves to the attack range of everyone else. If the lord died, it was equivalent to the entire army being wiped out. No one dared to gamble.

"This is perfect for me." Xu Qin said confidently, "I will just drive the Floating City directly into the ruins." But before that... kill the dragons first, then worry about the rest.

The fourth day. Ding!

[Lords Hall upgrade complete! Level 7 → Level 8]

After reading the upgrade notification, Xu Qin hurriedly opened the main interface of the Lords Hall. However, to his disappointment, no new features were added this time.

The values of all existing passive effects of the Lords Hall were comprehensively improved. The damage coefficient of Wraith Fury increased from 500% to 600%, and the range of the Undead Recruitment Order expanded from 50 meters to 80 meters.

Fine, improvement is good. Xu Qin did not pay too much attention to it; he was now focused on another matter.

The Floating City had already stopped at a location ten kilometers away from the dragon nest. Nominally, it was mining a nearby iron ore vein.

In reality, the Troglodytes underground had already excavated a thousand-square-meter space, and ten standard pits began to operate. The Ore Spirit assembly line started up again. The reinforcement of the Bone Beast units began to push toward +260.

Meanwhile, several nearby lords had successively obtained the panel information of the "Undead Sand Jackal" and "Undead Minotaur" that Xu Qin had sent out for collection through their dispatched scouts.

After a Dwarf Race lord finished looking at the panels, he said in his alliance group:

"His primary units are so trash."

"I can kill one with a single strike from a Tier 3 Dwarf Iron Guard."

"As I said, the Undead Race relies only on having large numbers."

Another Human Race lord noticed another detail.

"What is that orange shield on them?"

"I do not know, I have never seen it on other Undead Race lords."

"It might be his talent. A buff type, something like casting a shield on the entire army."

"That explains it. The Undead Race is so weak in the early stages; being able to survive until now is all thanks to this shield." Everyone agreed. That is right, this talent of Xu Qin is his shield!

The fifth day. Early morning. The Sand Rats sent back urgent intelligence from the direction of the dragon nest.

James, the lord of the Dragon Race, had led two healthy dragons and flown to the northeast. The target was a Swamp Crocodile Race territory thirty kilometers away. The total force of the Swamp Crocodile Race was about four thousand.

Inside the dragon nest, one healthy dragon was left behind to guard the two injured dragons. Xu Qin jumped up from his bone throne. I have finally waited for this moment!
