74: Daylight broke.

When Lin Wan and Shen Mo Chi returned, everyone was naturally full of energy.

She and Shen Mo Chi stood shoulder to shoulder on the high wall of the first gate.

They looked down at the snarling zombies and mutated animals below.

With a thought, she released all the mutated plants and animals from her spatial storage.

She also took out many of the tanks, heavy weaponry, and helicopters she had previously scavenged, distributing them to the core members of the Base.

When Zhao Yan and the others saw these things, their spirits soared even higher.

"Everyone, don't hold back. We have plenty. Just fight them!"

Lin Wan could sense that in the darkness, many Ability Users were pushing things forward, silently observing and waiting for the right moment to act.

Presumably, these were the Americans and Japanese who had snuck into Huaxia amidst the chaos.

Looking at Huaxia, which had returned to the early days of the Apocalypse, they must be smugly waiting to reap the benefits.

Lin Wan, radiating killing intent, aimed at the most concentrated area of zombies and continuously unleashed Wind Blades; instantly, the heads of a swath of zombies fell off.

Shen Mo Chi released a Thunder Wall, lending strength to Zhao Yan and the others.

Zhao Yan led everyone, unleashing cannon fire that forced the horde to retreat steadily.

The Earth Ability Users in the rear worked together and quickly dug out a large pit several meters deep.

Lin Wan, riding a helicopter, poured gasoline taken from her spatial storage into the pit.

"Light it up!"

The towering flames completely isolated the zombies outside, granting everyone a moment to catch their breath. Qingyun Base remained firmly standing.

As for those smaller bases, they barely had any heavy weaponry to begin with, and even if they did, they were reluctant to use it normally. Against these ferocious zombies, they had to hit the head, so the little ammunition they had was merely a drop in the bucket.

Not to mention bombs; consequently, they quickly exhausted their abilities and were overrun by the zombies.

Although the Official Base was also struggling, immediately after the disaster struck, they first brought the refugees who had nowhere to go and were verified to be free of the virus into the base's shelter.

Faced with such a devastating disaster, everyone tacitly united as one rope to jointly resist the zombies.

They all knew that the Official Base was their last line of defense.

It wasn't just Sea City; other cities were the same.

Everything they had painstakingly built before was instantly destroyed.

But this event came too suddenly; for now, resistance was the only viable option.

With a moment to breathe, everyone sat down to rest and recover, preparing for the next round of battle.

After repelling another wave of zombies, everyone in the Qingyun Squad was utterly exhausted.

Lin Wan sat on the ground and distributed spiritual spring water to everyone.

She leaned against Shen Mo Chi's shoulder, closed her eyes, and pondered for a solution.

"Mo Chi, this can't go on. We need to think of a permanent solution."

"Use the spatial storage? But with this many zombies, how should we use it best?"

Shen Mo Chi looked at her with heartache and was about to say something, but she suddenly opened her eyes.

"Shipping containers! Yes, Mo Chi, there are tens of thousands of shipping containers in the storage space!"

Shen Mo Chi immediately understood what she meant.

"Good, I'll go in with you now to sort them out."

"No need. The situation here can't spare you. I'll go by myself; it will be quick."

Shen Mo Chi looked at the fire wall outside, which was about to burn out, and silently nodded.

Lin Wan dared not delay and entered the spatial storage.

She used her mind to move everything out of the shipping containers.

It took her about two hours to clear out enough shipping containers for their needs.

She was covered in sweat, feeling completely drained of mental energy.

To avoid worrying them, she decided to sit and rest for a while before going out.

She had been monitoring the situation outside; everything was going smoothly, and they could still hold on.

After drinking the spiritual spring water, she suddenly heard the noisy sounds outside disappear.

Lin Wan's heart jumped, and she quickly exited the spatial storage.

As soon as she stepped out, she was pulled into Shen Mo Chi's embrace.

"Wanwan, it's daybreak."

Lin Wan's heart seemed to skip a beat; she looked up abruptly, her eyes instantly widening.

She saw a clear ray of dawn emerging in the eastern sky.

The sun, barely visible, cast a few faint rays, allowing people to clearly see the collapsed residential areas in the distance and the smaller bases almost razed to the ground.

They also saw the hideous zombies tearing at flesh and blood, and everyone's shining eyes.

Lin Wan was almost moved to tears, and Shen Mo Chi felt the same.

Only they understood this feeling of impending dawn; the more than half a year of polar night was finally over.

"Everyone, look! It's getting light! The polar night is ending!"

Someone shouted the first cry, and the crowd instantly erupted.

"It's getting light! The polar night is ending, hahaha ha ha ha ha!"

The foreign faces hiding in the shadows were instantly exposed, their panicked expressions disgusting.

No one knew who spotted them first.

"You're Japanese? You actually dare to come to our Huaxia?"

The Ice Ability User, filled with righteous indignation, looked at the devastated land and shot an arrow straight through the heart of the person trying to flee.

The others also reacted, fighting the zombies while simultaneously dragging out the surrounding Japanese and American faces to feed to the zombies.

Yue Yue and Ji Chuan shouted excitedly upon seeing the dawn.

"Wanwan, have you cleared out the shipping containers?"

Lin Wan smiled faintly.

"Yes. The shipping containers taken by the Japanese, we should naturally return them to their owners, giving them back to Japan."

They exchanged knowing smiles and tacitly picked up the walkie-talkies to start giving orders.

Those harboring ill intentions never expected the polar night to end so suddenly. Facing the overwhelming hatred of Huaxia, they desperately wished they could escape Huaxia immediately.

Unfortunately, most of them were surrounded heavily the moment they turned around, and all died tragically without exception.

A helicopter suddenly appeared in the sky. Everyone looked up; it was the Qingyun Squad.

Yi Nian had recovered. Holding a loudspeaker, her voice was clear and resonant.

"Everyone, please herd the zombies into one place! Everyone else surround them from the outside!"

Everyone always obeyed the words of the Qingyun Squad unconditionally.

They immediately set to work, the arrival of dawn filling them with hope.

Fire Ability Users and Thunder Ability Users unleashed the fire and lightning that zombies feared, forcing them to retreat steadily.

Gradually, everyone formed a massive encirclement. The teeming zombies were trapped in the center, separated from the humans by a huge circle of fire.

Ji Chuan looked down at everything through binoculars.

"It's ready, Lin Wan."

Lin Wan understood and said, "Mo Chi, lower the helicopter."

The people below looked up at them, their eyes full of anticipation and reverence.

As their helicopter approached the zombies, everyone shouted out in worry.

Unexpectedly, the next second, a scene that they would never forget occurred.

About a hundred shipping containers were thrown down.

"Everyone, drive the zombies into the shipping containers! Once full, shut the doors!"

Everyone seemed to guess what they were planning and followed suit, using various methods to drive the zombies into the containers.

Every time one was filled, someone with Metal Ability would come to reinforce the container.

No matter how ferocious the contents inside were, they couldn't escape.
