164: cat and mouse

And this was merely the firepower of the Ranger Infantry Fighting Vehicles. If their durability were sufficient, each one, with a thousand rounds of ammunition, could almost wipe out all of the Microstar Alliance's military meng hu off-road vehicles.

But this was only in theory; in reality, they could not immediately block the reckless charge of tens of thousands of off-road vehicles.

After the Microstar Alliance's troops reached a distance of just one thousand meters from the defensive line, their vehicle-mounted heavy machine guns opened fire, accompanied by a barrage of rockets.

Over forty thousand heavy machine guns fired over a hundred thousand rounds per second, dealing a massive amount of damage reaching over six million. Even when spread out, the four hundred Infantry Fighting Vehicles were losing over ten thousand durability points every second.

Watching the terrifying ocean of war, Commanders like Yun Dongliu and Liu Nian could almost foresee that their armored forces would be completely wiped out in half a minute.

Time passed quickly. Twenty-something seconds later, the remaining forty-something thousand meng hu off-road vehicles of the enemy had already charged to a position just three or four hundred meters from the Infantry Fighting Vehicle defensive line. Everyone in the Xiao Yao Army had already begun to imagine the scene of the Infantry Fighting Vehicles exploding one after another.

However, when the time exceeded thirty seconds, forty seconds, and even a minute, not a single one of these four hundred Infantry Fighting Vehicles had exploded, and they were still firing lethal shells one after another.

Even their vehicle-mounted heavy machine guns were firing, and a small number of anti-tank missiles were flying toward the enemy forces at this time, regardless of whether it was worth it.

"What! What is going on!"

At this moment, apart from some high-level Commanders, everyone else in the Xiao Yao Army was confused, but the people from the Microstar Alliance were even more confused.

"Didn't they say the maximum durability of the Infantry Fighting Vehicles was only two hundred fifty thousand! Why hasn't a single one exploded with our massive output!"

At the rear of the Microstar Alliance army, the Alliance leader and Captain of the Yufeng Squad, Captain Yu Tu, who saw this scene through binoculars, saw his originally confident expression suddenly turn ugly.

The expressions of the players beside him were becoming increasingly grim as well.

At this moment, someone stepped forward and said, "Captain Yu Tu, perhaps the Infantry Fighting Vehicles on the other side are different from those of the Black Hawk Empire; perhaps their durability is a bit higher..."

"A bit higher? A minute has passed; by any calculation, we should have dealt six or seven hundred thousand damage, yet I haven't seen a single vehicle destroyed!"

Captain Yu Tu's tone became impatient and angry. The person who spoke immediately said with dissatisfaction, "Captain Yu Tu, are you implying that the Xiao Yao Army's Infantry Fighting Vehicles are indestructible, or is this my fault?"

Upon hearing this, everyone present looked at each other. Captain Yu Tu seemed to realize his tone was wrong and hurriedly said, "Sorry, I'm just anxious. I think we should watch this wave of the offensive first. If we still can't break through, we will send in one hundred thousand vehicles!"

At the same time, Li Xiao was inside his Armored Personnel Carrier, watching the real-time reconnaissance footage transmitted back by the Pterosaur high-altitude drone, and he breathed a sigh of relief.

That's right. Before the second wave of attacks, Li Xiao had added the durability values of the twenty thousand meng hu off-road vehicles that were eaten during the Microstar Alliance's first tentative offensive to these four hundred Infantry Fighting Vehicles.

Each Infantry Fighting Vehicle was allocated over five hundred thousand durability points, which, added to the original two hundred fifty thousand, resulted in seven or eight hundred thousand in durability.

Although these Infantry Fighting Vehicles were currently being used by various regiments, the ownership of the Infantry Fighting Vehicles was still his. As long as he opened the base panel, he could remotely operate all vehicles.

Therefore, the thirty percent damage reduction effect of Li Xiao's King of War also took effect.

When the enemy's second wave of charging began, Li Xiao started tracking the whole process, and every ten seconds, he would add the newly acquired durability points.

The people from the Xiao Yao Army and the Microstar Alliance only knew the basic durability of the Infantry Fighting Vehicles, but they could not see the durability points Li Xiao had added.

This caused the Microstar Alliance's original numerical advantage to turn into a war of attrition.

"Haha! How strange! Are our Infantry Fighting Vehicles actually this durable?"

The temporary Commanders of the Fourth and Fifth Regiments saw their own armored forces standing as steady as Mount Tai and couldn't help but turn their worry into joy.

Beside them, Cheng Mo and Tang Wu and the others looked at each other and smiled. When they fought against Li Xiao's troops in the past, wasn't it the same situation? Li Xiao gave them the feeling that they were fighting against a cheater.

Two minutes passed, and the Microstar Alliance's second wave of attacking forces had less than ten thousand vehicles left. Although they had killed their way to the front of the armored forces, they had also entered the line of fire of the two million defenders in the south of the city.

As the enemy forces decreased, the damage to the Infantry Fighting Vehicle troops was also greatly weakened. By the time the second wave of attacking forces was wiped out, the four hundred Infantry Fighting Vehicles actually still had eight or nine hundred thousand durability points remaining.

"Hurry up and replenish ammunition for the Infantry Fighting Vehicles! The enemy will definitely launch a more fierce attack in the next wave! Pull all of our military off-road vehicles in front of the Infantry Fighting Vehicles to tank the damage!"

After this battle ended, Yun Dongliu immediately made defensive adjustments. He deployed all of the remaining thirty thousand meng hu off-road vehicles of the Xiao Yao Army in front of the armored vehicles.

Doing this could reduce the losses of the Infantry Fighting Vehicles and maximize the destruction of the enemy's vehicle forces.

Soon, the Microstar Alliance's third wave of attacking forces arrived. Under the cover of one hundred thousand off-road vehicles, over two million people launched a suicide charge toward Weixing City.

This was the maximum force that could be accommodated on the southern battlefield at the same time, and they advanced at full speed with the help of the vehicle wreckage that had not yet disappeared from the battlefield.

On the other side, Di Yun's Armored Company stormed into a level 10 base. At the base gate, an Armored Personnel Carrier and dozens of military off-road vehicles were wiped out by seven Lynx Infantry Fighting Vehicles in a single encounter.

Immediately, the combat vehicles drove into the base. The defenders who rushed out could not withstand such terrifying firepower and were blown to pieces on the spot.

"Charge directly at the Command Center! Focus fire!"

Even for a level 10 base Command Center, the five million durability points could not last a minute in front of forty Infantry Fighting Vehicles.

Every round from the Ranger Infantry Fighting Vehicle's 30mm rapid-fire cannon could take away five thousand points of building durability; seven vehicles could wipe out more than half of its health within a minute.

The remaining three types of Infantry Fighting Vehicles didn't even really need to fire before the Command Center exploded right there.

This was the first base Li Xiao had dismantled in two months, and millions in resources and tens of thousands of Star Coins went into his pocket.

Meanwhile, inside the Microstar Alliance's temporary command post, a squad Commander suddenly shouted in horror, "Oh no! My Vice Captain is dead!"

"The Vice Captain is dead?"

Captain Yu Tu's attention was pulled back from the battlefield. The person speaking was the leader of a four-thousand-man squad. He hurriedly asked, "What happened? Did he say anything in the squad channel?"

"He did! His communications soldier just told him that dozens of Infantry Fighting Vehicles suddenly attacked his base. In two or three minutes, he was gone, and he was even removed from the friend list!"

Captain Yu Tu was shocked, "Oh no! It's Li Xiao! It must be Li Xiao who has already snuck into our territory!"

As soon as these words were spoken, all the players in the command post were immediately thrown into a panic.
