64: Strange Corpse

“Clear them out,” Li Ke said faintly.

The Faceless Paper Figure fluttered away with a rustling sound.

A peeled figure was left behind.

Before that figure could fall to the ground, it was grabbed by the Silver Armor Corpse’s arm and quickly absorbed of its flesh and blood essence.

The Faceless Paper Figure, Li Ke a white ghostly shadow, swiftly moved among the Undead guards who were trapped in illusions.

Each flicker of the white shadow brought a flurry of paper.

As the paper fell, a complete skin was peeled off.

The flesh and blood bodies, stripped of their skins, were then dragged by the Silver Armor Corpse, which followed closely behind, into the constantly wriggling, pitch-black shadow, where they were completely absorbed.

Every bit of flesh and blood, every wisp of Corpse Qi, was thoroughly squeezed of its last bit of value.

After clearing out all the Undead in the manor, Li Ke slowly walked towards the plaza where the bodies were piled.

Under the moonlight, the mountain of corpses emitted a strong, chilling aura, yet there was no hint of putrid smell.

Instead, it even exuded a rich, peculiar fragrance, Li Ke some kind of alcohol that had been fermented for a long time.

At the center of this corpse pit, Li Ke discovered a unique corpse unlike the others.

This corpse looked as if it had been scorched by a fierce fire, its flesh and blood dry and withered, clinging tightly to the bones.

Strangely, from within the charcoal-Li Ke shell, a peculiar vitality emanated.

The Silver Armor Corpse stood behind Li Ke, its hollow eye sockets glowing with intensely flickering pale phosphorescent flames.

It transmitted an unprecedented strong desire to Li Ke, wanting to immediately devour that special corpse.

Li Ke pondered for a moment.

He reached out and, with a gesture, moved the special corpse out of the corpse pit.

“Buzz…”

The moment the corpse was moved out of the center of the corpse pit, a muffled sound came from the depths of the entire corpse pit, subtly shaking it.

Then, a cold wind swept through, and the chilling, grayish-green Corpse Qi above the corpse pit instantly vanished.

“It seems some kind of special ritual has been destroyed,” Li Ke said, not caring. He looked at the charred corpse in front of him, about to examine it closely.

Just then, a strong sense of dread suddenly surged in his heart.

An inexplicable sense of crisis, Li Ke a cold needle tip, remotely pierced his spiritual consciousness.

This was a Cultivator’s premonition.

Li Ke’s expression changed, and his spiritual consciousness immediately spread out in all directions.

Before he could sense it in detail, a powerful and unparalleled aura suddenly tore through the silence of the night sky outside the manor.

A violent yet vibrant aura, Li Ke a burning green meteor, streaked across the sky at an astonishing speed.

It was plummeting towards this vineyard at an alarming pace, quickly approaching the airspace above the manor!

Li Ke’s eyes narrowed.

He abruptly formed a Fist Seal with both hands, and the Yin-producing Underworld Butterflies, which had already spread throughout the manor, were instantly activated.

The invisible Phantom Building Fist Intent, using these dark paper butterflies as a medium, erupted with a roar.

Terrifying hallucinatory power, Li Ke a tide, swept towards the green meteor.

The rapidly flying green meteor’s figure paused and slowed for a moment in mid-air.

“It’s him?”

Taking this opportunity, Li Ke finally saw the identity of the newcomer.

It was Alvin Oak, the eldest son of the Oak Earl.

At this moment, a pair of large emerald green oak leaves grew on his back, gently flapping Li Ke real wings, carrying him suspended in the night sky.

His direction of descent was precisely this recently destroyed ritual site.

“There’s definitely something fishy,” Li Ke thought, his mind racing.

He immediately realized that the strange ritual taking place in this vineyard was probably closely and secretly connected to Alvin Oak.

Otherwise, it would be impossible to explain why Alvin had detected it so quickly and rushed to the scene immediately after he had forcibly interrupted the ritual.

“He seems to still be at the Silver Tier Peak.”

“Should I just kill him?”

Watching Alvin Oak, who had temporarily lost his senses and was falling from mid-air, Li Ke’s figure vanished into the deep shadows.

His spiritual consciousness, Li Ke invisible tentacles, remotely sensed Alvin Oak’s aura.

Judging from the intensity of the aura, Alvin seemed to still be at the Silver Tier Bloodline Knight level.

But for some reason, Alvin in this state brought him an unprecedented sense of great danger.

He could vaguely feel that within Alvin’s body, there seemed to be a massive energy dormant, exuding an endless sense of vitality, which brought him a great sense of crisis.

As time passed, this sense of crisis showed a tendency to intensify.

“Forget it, it’s not worth it.”

Li Ke’s eyes flickered.

After weighing the pros and cons, he decisively gave up the idea of a risky assassination.

His figure swayed, and he, along with the strange corpse, completely disappeared into the bottomless, pitch-black shadow beneath his feet.

“Boom!”

The moment Li Ke’s figure completely vanished into the shadows, an indescribable terrifying life force suddenly erupted from within Alvin Oak in mid-air.

Countless tiny tree roots, Li Ke wriggling insect tentacles, frantically gushed out from every pore of his body.

These white roots greedily seized all energy in the surrounding space, forming a continuously expanding pitch-black energy black hole in the air.

The countless Yin-producing Underworld Butterflies that had previously permeated the manor, releasing their illusory fluctuations, were sucked into the dark vortex Li Ke iron filings attracted by a magnet, emitting a faint crackling sound before gradually dissipating into nothingness.

The terrifying hallucinatory power suddenly vanished, and Alvin Oak let out an extremely angry roar.

“Come back! Come back to me!”

His right arm expanded and grew wildly at a visible speed, instantly transforming into a towering giant tree covered in rough bark and exuding a rich life force.

That giant tree arm carried immense power, fiercely smashing into the still not completely dissipated pitch-black shadow on the ground.

“Boom!”

A earth-shattering roar echoed.

The shadow area violently churned and distorted.

A pale silver, blurry figure flashed through the shattered shadow, seemingly having taken the terrifying blow from the towering giant tree head-on.

The next moment, all the shadows instantly dissipated Li Ke a receding tide, and the ground returned to its original state, with no trace left.

Alvin’s oak leaf wings on his back flapped frantically, his figure rapidly ascended into the sky, then he frantically searched throughout the entire vineyard, letting out a furious cry.

“Come back! Come back to me!”

After a long while, Alvin Oak, having found nothing, let out a roar filled with unwillingness.

His internal life energy completely lost control at this moment, entering a berserk state.

Countless thicker, more grotesque emerald green roots, Li Ke an out-of-control flood, frantically gushed out from his body.

These roots deeply burrowed into the earth, Li Ke hungry beasts, greedily absorbing all reachable vitality and energy from the surroundings.

The entire Valen Mountain vineyard, along with the vegetation on the nearby slopes, rapidly withered and turned to sand at a visible speed.

In just a few breaths, this area, which had been relatively vibrant, was completely transformed into a lifeless dead zone.

Alvin stood on the desolate ground, with violent green energy and roots constantly surging around him.

He let out low growls, as if suppressing some terrifying mutation within his body.

...

In a distant, unknown space.

On a magnificent throne constructed from countless gigantic bones, a terrifying figure shrouded in endless shadows seemed to stir slightly.

His movement caused the entire space to tremble and hum faintly.

A deep and majestic voice echoed in the vast and silent space.

“Vello Sachs, your plan has failed again.”

As the words fell, a vast and profound black shadow slowly rose above the crimson sky.

That shadow blotted out the sun, Li Ke a black sun radiating endless ill omens and destruction.

A similarly deep and hoarse voice came from the center of that black sun.

“There’s still a chance.”

“Await the outcome, Morgaen.”
