34: Chapter 34 A Plan to Turn the Tide

Upon returning to Novice Village, Chen Ergou and Ye Liuli hid Shadow Blade in a secret location—an abandoned cellar outside the village.

Chen Ergou even took the extra step of setting a few traps at the entrance to prevent Shadow Blade from escaping.

"What do we do next?" Chen Ergou asked.

Ye Liuli pondered for a moment, a flash of brilliance crossing her eyes: "Turn his own scheme against him."

"What do you mean?"

"Doesn't Windwalker want to coordinate an attack from the inside and outside?" Ye Liuli's lips curled into a cold sneer. "Then we'll give him that opportunity. Let him believe everything is under his control, and then... at the moment of his greatest triumph, we'll deliver a fatal blow."

She leaned in close to Chen Ergou's ear and whispered her plan.

After hearing it, Chen Ergou's eyes lit up. "Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! Truly worthy of Guild Leader Xiguang, this move is ruthless!"

"Stop flattering me." Ye Liuli rolled her eyes at him, though her lips curved slightly upward. "Go prepare; we start tonight."

"You got it!"

That night, the [Dawn] Guild held an emergency meeting.

Inside the meeting room, the core members of [Dawn] gathered together.

Over a dozen people sat around a long table, the atmosphere somewhat heavy.

Ye Liuli sat at the head of the table, her expression serious as she scanned everyone present.

Windwalker sat at her right hand, his face wearing his usual expression of concern.

"Everyone," Ye Liuli began, her voice steady and powerful. "I have just received news that the [Dark Night] Guild is preparing to launch an attack against us."

"What?!" The crowd was in an uproar.

"When?" a core member asked eagerly.

"In three days," Ye Liuli said. "And they have an inside man."

As she spoke, her gaze swept over everyone present, finally resting on Windwalker for about two seconds before moving away.

Windwalker's pupils contracted slightly, but his face remained composed.

"An inside man? Who is it?" he asked, feigning surprise.

"It's unclear for now." Ye Liuli shook her head. "Therefore, I intend to set a trap to draw the snake out of its hole."

"What kind of trap?"

"A feigned retreat." Ye Liuli stood up and walked to the map hanging on the wall, tracing a few lines on it with her finger.

"Tomorrow night, I will lead the main force to attack one of [Dark Night]'s strongholds. At that time, the guild base will be left defenseless. If an inside man truly exists, they will surely seize the opportunity to pass on information."

"But Guild Leader, what about your side..."

"Rest assured, the attack on the stronghold is fake; the ambush is real." Ye Liuli sneered. "As soon as the inside man shows their face, the people from [Dark Night] will walk right into our trap."

Windwalker lowered his head, a flash of cold malice in his eyes. 'So that's it. You want to lure me into a trap? Unfortunately, you are all too naive.'

"Guild Leader is wise." He raised his head, his face wearing an expression of admiration. "I will certainly cooperate fully."

Ye Liuli looked at him, sneering inwardly. 'Cooperate? Fine, I'll see just how you cooperate!'

After the meeting concluded, everyone dispersed.

Chen Ergou hid outside the meeting room, using the system's [Heart-Listening] feature to hear Windwalker's inner thoughts clearly.

'Trying to lure me in? Hmph, Ye Liuli, you're still too green.' Windwalker's heart was filled with disdain. 'In the final assault three days from now, none of you will be able to escape.'

Chen Ergou sneered and silently noted everything in his mind. 'Windwalker, go ahead and keep being arrogant. The real show has only just begun.'
