37: Chapter 37 Counterattack

With the traitor cleared out, Ye Liuli immediately began to deploy her counterattack plan.

She gathered all the core members of the [Dawn] guild and convened an emergency military meeting in the conference room.

"Since [Dark Night] wants a full-scale attack, we will strike first." She stood in front of the map and pointed at several locations with her finger. "These are important strongholds of [Dark Night] in the Novice Village. We will split our forces into three groups and attack simultaneously."

"Guild Leader, do we have enough troops?" a member asked worriedly. After clearing out Windwalker, the guild's morale had been affected to a certain extent, and people were feeling uneasy.

"Rest assured." A cold smile curled the corners of Ye Liuli's lips. "[Dark Night] thinks the decisive battle is in three days, and their main force is preparing for the full-scale attack. The defenses of these strongholds must be empty."

"Besides," Chen Ergou added, "we can also use some special methods."

"What special methods?"

Chen Ergou took a few bottles of potion out of his backpack, with a sneaky smile on his face: "The [Chaos Potion]. After drinking it, you can't tell friend from foe and will attack anyone you see. If we sneak in and put some in their water source..."

Everyone gasped. This move... was too underhanded, right? But they had to admit, it was indeed effective.

"Good!" Ye Liuli made the final decision. "That's what we'll do! Chen Ergou is in charge of poisoning the water, and everyone else will split into three teams to attack simultaneously."

That night, on a dark and windy night, it was the perfect time for action. The [Dawn] guild split into three groups and launched a surprise attack on [Dark Night]'s strongholds.

Chen Ergou led a team to infiltrate the largest stronghold. Taking advantage of the cover of night, they quietly snuck inside the stronghold and found the water source—a well.

"This is it," Chen Ergou whispered. "Pour the potion in."

Several members poured the [Chaos Potion] into the well and then quickly retreated.

Not long after, the [Dark Night] members in the stronghold began to drink the water. And then...

"Ah! Why are you hitting me?!"

"I've found you annoying for a long time! Brothers, take him down!"

"Who is hitting me?!"

The entire stronghold instantly descended into chaos. Under the influence of the [Chaos Potion], the [Dark Night] members began attacking each other, and the scene became extremely chaotic. Some punched their own teammates, some released skills that blasted their brothers nearby, and some even sat on the ground and started crying.

"Now is the time!" Chen Ergou gave the order. "Charge!"

The [Dawn] members rushed in from all directions and launched a roundup against the [Dark Night] members who were already in a state of chaos.

The battle went exceptionally smoothly. In less than an hour, this stronghold was captured. Meanwhile, the other two groups also sent news of victory. The three important strongholds of [Dark Night] in the Novice Village had all fallen overnight.

When the news reached the ears of the [Dark Night] Guild Leader, "Night King," he was so angry he almost flipped the table.

"Trash! You're all trash!" he roared. "Where is Windwalker? Where is Shadow Blade? Where are they?!"

"Guild Leader, Windwalker... was exposed and captured by [Dawn]. Shadow Blade... has also lost contact."

"What?!"

The Night King's face turned extremely ugly. The plan was leaked? How is that possible?!

"Guild Leader, what should we do now?" his subordinate asked cautiously.

The Night King took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. "Retreat," he said through gritted teeth. "Retreat for now and preserve our strength. When we enter the main city, we will settle the score with them!"

"Yes!"

The retreat of [Dark Night] marked the end of this struggle. The [Dawn] guild had achieved a complete victory!
