165: Sucked into the image

The two walked towards the light and soon arrived at a hall.

Cultivators arrived in twos and threes from other entrances.

They were covered in wounds, their auras weak, clearly having just experienced a great battle.

No joy could be seen on anyone's face; they had surely suffered losses. Moreover, after experiencing such a life-and-death battle, there was no Opportunity to be found.

They had narrowly escaped death, and if there were no Opportunity in this hall, some would likely be unable to bear it and break down completely.

Soon, all the surviving Cultivators arrived in the hall.

At this time, everyone began to inspect their surroundings.

The bare hall contained nothing; if there were anything at all, it would be the strange patterns engraved on the walls.

Within those patterns, there were one battlefield after another.

Countless creatures from the myriad races of the heavens were slaughtering each other on the battlefields.

The scenes of slaughter were vivid and lifelike; it felt as if they could hear the sounds of battle ringing in their ears and feel the Killing Intent rushing towards them.

"These things are useless! How can this be an Opportunity?!"

"Damn it! We've been played!"

"Aren't dangers always accompanied by Opportunities?! What kind of place is this?!"

"..."

Some Cultivators with weaker mental fortitude began to curse at the engraved images.

They had truly narrowly escaped death in the cave just now; those creatures manifested from Killing Intent were terrifying to the extreme.

Ordinary means were simply unable to counter them!

Conversely, when those eerie creatures killed them, it was like slicing through melons and vegetables.

Some were even affected by the Killing Intent and became lunatics; having no other choice, their companions had to kill them to let them leave safely.

Now that they had arrived in this hall, there was nothing but these vivid images; how could they not feel angry!

The noble disciple from before also arrived in the hall, looking around, and he sensed the eeriness within those images.

He walked forward at random and reached out to gently stroke the images.

Sure enough.

When he touched it, that surge of Killing Intent became even clearer; the pattern seemed to be pulling him inside.

"This is definitely an Opportunity, it's just that..."

The noble disciple looked at the people around him; his gaze now was like that of a poisonous snake, completely different from before.

Finally, he looked at one of them and smiled, "Li Si, come here, use all your Spiritual Power to merge with this wall."

"Yes."

The Cultivator called Li Si did not hesitate in the slightest; he walked up and placed his hand against the wall.

Hum...

His entire body glowed with terrifying Spiritual Power, but its appearance did not shatter the wall; instead, it was continuously devoured.

The other Cultivators also turned their attention here, wanting to see what these people were doing.

Just as the person named Li Si released his last shred of Spiritual Power, a vortex suddenly appeared on the wall. The vortex was extremely eerie and swallowed him whole.

"What is this?!"

All the Cultivators were shocked by this scene.

Could this wall eat people?

Or was it that Li Si had gone to a place of Opportunity?

No one knew what had happened, but they dared not try it easily.

After all, Li Si had been pulled in inexplicably; who knew what he would have to face.

Since letting Li Si go over, the noble disciple had been observing, as if wanting to see something.

Immediately after, one, two, three...

His companions were ordered by him, one after another, to go and touch the wall.

Every experience was the same; whenever they input their last shred of Spiritual Power, a vortex would appear, and that vortex would pull them inside.

And what was even more eerie was that every time someone was pulled into the vortex, an image of that person would appear on the wall.

It was as if they had been pulled into the battlefield within the image!

"That's it!"

The noble disciple's eyes were full of burning fervor; after testing it with a few people, he understood.

This was where the Opportunity lay. The vortex pulled people into the battlefield, but if one could return alive, didn't that mean they could obtain the Opportunity?

The vortex was merely something akin to a teleportation array.

It had no inherent ability to harm people, and those Cultivators who appeared on the images had not died; they all maintained a standing position.

This was also something the noble disciple had specifically instructed.

"Everyone, with me!"

Under the noble disciple's order, all his subordinates, including himself, placed a hand on the wall.

Hum...

Everyone erupted with all their Spiritual Power; the light emitted by that Spiritual Power directly illuminated the entire hall, making it hard for people to open their eyes.

I don't know how long it had been, but when the light of the Spiritual Qi dissipated, the noble disciple and the others had all appeared on the images.

With the first success, everyone followed suit; they had already come this far, there was no reason to retreat!

Having experienced such a deadly trap just now, even if it meant being torn to pieces, they had to take away an Opportunity!

This was basically the consensus of most Cultivators.

Everyone placed their hands on the wall and began to release their Spiritual Power.

On the other side, Chu Hao asked Lin Ye, "Brother Lin, shall we go in too?"

"No rush."

Lin Ye shook his head, "Let's wait until they have all gone in; it won't be too late for us to enter then."

Hum...

The hall constantly flashed with the light of Spiritual Power; one Cultivator after another entered the vortex, and immediately after, they would appear in the images on the wall.

Finally, only Lin Ye and Chu Hao remained in the hall; all the other Cultivators had entered the walls.

"Alright, it's time."

Lin Ye walked to a section of the wall that no one had touched.

He had already figured it out just now; since it was a battlefield, there must be a distinction between friend and foe.

There were many factions on the wall engaged in a melee on the battlefield; after those Cultivators entered, they all stood with the creatures on the wall.

Obviously, choosing the wall meant choosing a faction.

This was not only discovered by Lin Ye; except for a small number of people who chose blindly, everyone else had followed their own leaders into those factions that looked strong.

But Lin Ye chose to do the exact opposite.

He walked to a wall filled with old men.

Compared to the other factions, this one looked just like a nursing home.

Lin Ye was a bit stunned to see such a scene for the first time, but he still came here after everyone else had left.

The patterns engraved on the wall were very clear, and one could see the expressions of these people.
