216: The World in the Ancient Tower

Upon entering the tower, a dense wave of Immortal Qi rushed toward them, making one feel refreshed and relaxed.

From the outside, although this ancient tower appeared quite large, it seemed impossible for the first floor to accommodate so many Cultivators all at once.

However, once they entered, they discovered that the interior was far larger than they had imagined, much like an independent Small World.

All the Cultivators were constantly searching for Opportunities on the first floor of the ancient tower, exploring along the dense spiritual energy in hopes of discovering some clues.

They saw that the walls inside the tower were covered with exquisite murals, depicting various magical scenes that resembled the Immortal Realm, making one feel as if they were immersed in a fairyland.

"It seems like there is nothing here on this floor except for these murals!"

"That's right, I feel it too. There is nothing magical about these murals; it's just that the material is a bit sturdy."

"There are no Opportunities on this floor, let's go to the second floor quickly!"

The Cultivators naturally would not let any place that might hold an Opportunity go to waste. They took out their Magic Treasures, wishing they could chisel through the murals on the walls to see if there was anything inside.

After exerting great effort, they discovered that the walls were incredibly hard. Not only could they not chisel through them, but even striking with full force left not a single mark.

Likewise, using spiritual energy, blood, or Divine Thought could not cause any change to the walls.

In other words, apart from being quite sturdy, the walls of the first floor of the ancient tower had no peculiar qualities.

The crowd turned their gazes toward a staircase made of white jade not far away and rushed up it all at once.

Lin Ye looked at the surrounding murals. It seemed they depicted the Heavenly Soldiers and Generals, which were the Spirit Race, and likely the so-called "Immortal Domain" where they lived.

They called themselves Immortals, and the place where they resided was called the Immortal Domain.

If one were to judge solely by the murals, it would be no exaggeration to call that place the Immortal Domain. In the sky, True Dragons and Phoenixes—those ancient Sacred Beasts that had long since disappeared—were soaring.

Among the surrounding exotic flowers and rare grasses, even the most inferior ones were Saint Herbs.

If one were to grow up in such an environment, the weakest among them would likely be a Saint.

Placing his hand on the stone wall, he felt a chill. It did not have the same feeling as the murals in the cave from before. This meant that these were simply murals that had been carved on, and indeed, they possessed no magical properties.

"This first floor should just be the entry point. Let's go, we are heading to the second floor."

When the remaining Cultivators realized there was nothing on the first floor, they also headed up to the second floor.

Upon arriving on the second floor, the Cultivators all let out exclamations of surprise. This place did not feel like it was inside a tower; it was like an independent Small World, complete with a firmament, earth, flowers, trees, mountains, and rivers.

The difference was that this Small World was engulfed in flames, much like the previous Fire Mountain.

Everywhere was filled with a scorching heat. This was a completely crimson world. Above the firmament, there appeared to be nine great suns; apart from that, there was not a single star.

Those nine great suns stood in the Void Realm, radiating a scorching, burning aura that roasted this Small World.

The Cultivators all wrapped their entire bodies in spiritual energy to avoid being scorched by the heat waves.

"Are there any Opportunities within these nine great suns?"

Some Cultivators had wild imaginations and wanted to investigate whether those nine great suns might be some kind of secret treasure. They dashed toward the sky. Some other Cultivators had the same thought; they stirred their spiritual energy and turned into streams of light, rushing up toward the Void Realm.

However, they did not get very high before their bodies began to melt. In terror, they hurriedly tried to descend, but it was already too late.

Whoosh...

Those Cultivators who had rushed into the high sky were rapidly consumed by flames. Within three breaths of time, they turned into a pile of ashes and disappeared before everyone's eyes.

Hiss...

Everyone gasped. Although it would naturally get hotter the closer one got to the sun, the temperature shouldn't have been terrifying enough to burn a Cultivator to ash, especially since they were all wrapped in spiritual energy.

Even if the temperature was high, they would have been able to resist for a while, and that time would have been enough for them to descend safely.

Yet, in just three breaths, they had vanished from everyone's sight.

Even the invitations that dropped upon their deaths turned into ashes along with them.

Wasn't it said that this thing could not be destroyed?

"Tell everyone to be careful and quickly search for the entrance to the third floor!"

This was the order given by all the leaders to the Disciples around them.

Since they were inside the ancient tower, they just needed to find the entrance to the next floor to escape this dangerous world.

Thinking of this, everyone began to take action.

Lin Ye also led the Disciples of the Righteous Qi Sect into this crimson world. Because they had already experienced the Fire Mountain, they had some experience with this scorching world.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...

The Disciples of the Righteous Qi Sect took out their Magic Treasures and placed them in front of them to scout the path. If they encountered any danger this way, although they might lose a Magic Treasure, they themselves would certainly be fine.

In this world where one could not fly through the air, this method, while clumsy, was surprisingly effective.

Other factions, large and small, followed suit and took out their own Magic Treasures to scout the path ahead.

"Hmm?"

They did not know how long they had walked. Until they could no longer see the entrance, Lin Ye, who was walking at the very front, discovered a problem. He saw that not far away, there seemed to be a figure. The figure was entirely red, and its appearance could not be clearly seen.

The people from other factions clearly also noticed that figure.

But in this dangerous crimson world, they did not dare to rush forward recklessly and could only cautiously advance step by step.

However, every time they took a step forward, the figure would retreat a few paces. And when they stopped, the figure would also stop.

"Something is wrong!"

Lin Ye discovered the problem immediately and shouted to the crowd behind him, "Everyone, move in the opposite direction!"

Although the Disciples of the Righteous Qi Sect did not know what was going on, they followed Lin Ye's footsteps and retreated immediately.

Seeing this, the people from the other factions were somewhat confused.

A portion of the Cultivators who had chosen to go to the Emperor Gate with Lin Ye previously chose to trust him and ran backward together.

"Isn't that the direction of the entrance? Are they giving up on the Opportunity here?"

Dao Yan saw Lin Ye's actions. Having learned from past experience, he did not believe that Lin Ye was acting without purpose.

He turned his head and glanced at the figure in the distance; it seemed there was something on the figure's head.

Hum...

Dao Yan concentrated his spiritual energy into his eyes and began to observe carefully. The next moment, his eyes widened, and he roared, "Everyone! Run! Run toward the direction of the entrance!!!"

First Lin Ye, then Dao Yan; even the dullest person realized there was a problem.

They all turned around and ran toward the entrance.

However, some Cultivators, in order to find the entrance faster, had walked to the very front. When they heard Dao Yan's roar, it was already too late for them to turn around and run!

Boom!!!

A wave of fire soared into the sky!
