496: Ji Hongmeng Chapter 2

“A Senior like you, who is clearly stained with sin, does not deserve respect.” Every one of Ji Hongmeng’s sword strikes drew upon the power of Grandmist, and the Sword Qi was so vast that it seemed the entire Eternal Realm could not contain it.

The battle's tremors spread to every corner of the Eternal Realm, and even the Souls in the Netherworld felt a doomsday-like pressure.

“Battle outside the Heavens!” Ji Hongmeng was the first to fly out of the Eternal Realm. Fighting within the world made it impossible to fully unleash their power, as this world was too fragile for them.

The Venerable Red Robe followed, and the two engaged in a great battle within the Grandmist. Such a battle naturally startled the other Eternal Supremes. They were very curious who was fighting the Venerable Red Robe, as Ji Hongmeng’s Aura was unfamiliar, and none of them recognized him.

“Who is this Venerable? Has anyone seen him?” one Venerable asked the other observing Venerables.

“Never seen him.”

All the Venerables shook their heads, indicating they had never seen Ji Hongmeng.

They tried to discern which Sect or Family the Disciple belonged to through Ji Yi’s Sword Dao, but unfortunately, they still couldn't tell.

They could only shake their heads. With so many Cultivators, it was not surprising for one or two to quietly Cultivate to the Eternal Supreme Realm.

They calmed down and watched the battle. They could see that Ji Hongmeng had a slight advantage. They never expected that the long-renowned Venerable Red Robe would be suppressed today. As expected, the cultivation world was very deep, and no one knew what kind of big fish were hidden within before they revealed themselves.

Ji Hongmeng’s sword carried a grand Aura. Every strike was direct and straightforward, without any flashy moves. The Grandmist is infinite, my heart is infinite, and my Sword Dao is infinite.

Every sword strike carried the momentum of the Grandmist. Ji Hongmeng resonated with the Grandmist, making this his home ground.

This sight startled the other Eternal Supremes. Someone could actually resonate with the Grandmist; this was something they had never considered.

The battle continued, with Ji Hongmeng gaining a complete upper hand. With every sword strike, the vast Sword Dao forced the Venerable Red Robe back.

The red robe on the Venerable Red Robe was his hongmeng immortal treasure, and Ji Hongmeng’s Sword Qi had already torn cracks in it, causing the Venerable Red Robe immense heartache.

“Damn it, Weeping Blood Sect misled me!” The Venerable Red Robe never expected that a promise from back then would lead him to such a predicament. He wasn't worried about dying, but his prestige accumulated over so many years was lost in this battle. At the very least, other Eternal Supremes would use this incident to mock him in the future.

“I have done my utmost for the Weeping Blood Sect.” The Venerable Red Robe directly fled. At his status, the slight bond with a Sect was fine for easily dealing with ordinary enemies, but facing someone stronger than himself like Ji Hongmeng, a superficial effort was enough. He couldn't risk his life, could he? They were all demonic Cultivators; indifference to each other was basic practice.

Ji Hongmeng did not pursue him. A sword light descended, obliterating the Weeping Blood Sect in the Eternal World, and naturally, all the people of that Sect were also wiped out.

“May I ask for Fellow Daoist’s name?” a Venerable asked with cupped hands. He had a feud with the Venerable Red Robe, and an enemy of an enemy was a friend.

“My name is Ji Hongmeng. I have been in secluded Cultivation and have only now come out to move around.” Ji Hongmeng offered an explanation for his appearance.

“I am Whitebrow Venerable. I admire Fellow Daoist’s will. How about we find a place to discuss the Dao? We are free anyway,” the Venerable invited.

“That sounds great.” Ji Hongmeng was moved, as he had been wanting to discuss the Dao with someone of the same Realm.

“You don’t mind us participating, do you?” The other Eternal Supremes also gathered around.

“Haha, of course, you are welcome.”

Everyone went together to Whitebrow Venerable’s palace to discuss the Dao. When they reached an exciting point, they would go to the Grandmist to spar and verify their insights. Everyone was very happy. A group of the most Supreme individuals had their Grand Dao clash, creating sparks, and everyone made progress.

Ji Hongmeng made the greatest progress because he had the best Aptitude there. The Hongmeng Saint Body was the most Supreme Physique in any world.

This discussion of the Dao lasted for ten thousand years. Ji Hongmeng bid farewell to the Supremes and left the Eternal World, arriving in the Grandmist. He wanted to comprehend the Dao within the Grandmist.

He stepped into the Grandmist. Other Heavenly Venerables might worry about getting lost in the Grandmist, but Ji Hongmeng wasn’t worried, because for him, being in the Grandmist was like being at home.

In the Grandmist, Ji Hongmeng also encountered various dangers. He would meet some Hongmeng God and Devils, some World Realm Cultivators. Among Cultivators, it wasn't necessarily only good people who could Cultivate to profound levels; bad people could too. Ji Hongmeng hadn't reached the Realm of Hongmeng God and Devils yet, but he could still move freely within the Grandmist, which naturally made him very conspicuous, and they would attack Ji Hongmeng.

Fortunately, Ji Hongmeng’s strength was not bad. He was only a step away from becoming a Hongmeng God and Devil, and coupled with his control over Primordial Qi, he always managed to escape with thrills but no real danger.

There were also natural dangers within the Grandmist, various Forbidden Grounds. Some of these Forbidden Grounds were so dangerous that even Hongmeng God and Devils who entered them would never return.

Ji Hongmeng relied on his spiritual perception to avoid one Forbidden Ground after another, and he engaged in battles with various Hongmeng God and Devils and World Realm Cultivators. When he encountered new worlds, he would also enter them to explore.

As he gained more experience, Ji Hongmeng’s Dao became clearer. One day, during a battle with a Hongmeng God and Devil, Ji Hongmeng had a feeling that he was about to Breakthrough.

Looking at the Saber Qi that split the Grandmist ahead, Ji Hongmeng could have avoided it, but he chose not to dodge. Instead, he raised the sword in his hand.

“Break for me!” Ji Hongmeng roared, unleashing a sword strike with all his might. This strike was either success or death!

Ji Hongmeng’s sword erupted with a light that illuminated the Grandmist. The sword light grew brighter and brighter. A Sword Qi was unleashed, drawing in infinite Primordial Qi. The Sword Qi and Saber Qi both vanished into nothingness within the Grandmist.

Ji Hongmeng’s Aura was rising infinitely. At this moment, he finally reached the Realm of Hongmeng God and Devil.

“Finally, have I caught up to Father and Mother?” Ji Hongmeng murmured. Who knew how much pressure he endured as the son of Ji Yi and Ji Ziyan?

No matter how hard he worked, he could not surpass his parents, whose Aptitude had already transcended the world. The achievements he gained through his efforts were considered expected by others, because he was the son of Ji Yi and Ji Ziyan.

No matter what achievements he accomplished, the label others put on him was always “Ji Yi’s son.” He wanted to surpass his parents, but his parents were truly too Prodigious. Even with his Hongmeng Saint Body, he couldn't catch up.

Only the two siblings knew how much pressure they endured. They would often confide in each other to alleviate their mutual stress.

Today, he finally reached the same Realm as his parents. This was the final Realm of Cultivation; there was no further path ahead. Although there would be differences in combat power, at least their Realms were the same, right?

Ji Hongmeng ignored his opponent, who had already left. He headed in the direction of the Grandmist Ranking, believing that his father and mother should be there.
