35: Chapter 34 The Celestial Palace, Part Three

The Immortal Palace had four gates in the east, west, south, and north.

The main entrance was the Zhaolai Gate in the east. There were no requirements to enter this gate, so most Cultivators entered based on their rankings.

The other three gates were: Zhongyu Gate, Tianmo Gate, and Dicheng Gate.

Nangong Miao possessed the Human Illusion given by Li Fan, allowing her to enter the Immortal Palace through the Zhongyu Gate without needing to spar with other Cultivators.

However, she still mingled among the Cultivators in front of the Zhaolai Gate.

If she went to the Zhongyu Gate alone, other Cultivators would easily guess that she possessed the Human Illusion, which would invite unnecessary trouble.

Before long, a temporary list floated in the air, detailing the established order of entry.

Nangong Miao glanced at the list; the first place was indeed Jue Yingtian of the Jue Hong Imperial Clan.

However, the prince and princess of the Zhonghuang Imperial Clan were not on the list.

Nangong Miao was not surprised by this, as the Heaven Key for this Immortal Dao Assembly had been obtained by her royal brother, Nangong Mingli.

Princes and princesses mostly made arrangements and entered together through the Tianmo Gate.

Even so, the group from the Zhonghuang Imperial Clan remained at odds, standing far apart from one another.

A princess in red robes noticed that Nangong Miao was at the tail end of the Zhaolai Gate queue and asked with a mocking tone, "Third Sister, why have you come to the Immortal Dao Assembly? Is your health any better?"

Nangong Miao directly ignored the red-robed princess. The faint flame mark on her forehead was a gift from this princess, so naturally, she would not give her a pleasant look.

"Little sister has really grown up, not even greeting your older sister when you see her."

"Would you like to come and spar with your sister?"

The red-robed princess knew that Nangong Miao had not yet recovered from her internal injuries and continued to press the issue.

Nangong Miao remained calm and replied composedly, "Older sister should look after herself. The Imperial Clan Legacy is imminent; do not let me surpass you when the time comes."

After speaking, she turned to leave, unwilling to listen to such Yin and Yang mockery from this person.

The red-robed princess in the distance laughed inwardly, wanting to ask how Nangong Miao could compete with her for the Imperial Clan Legacy when she had even lost the flame on her forehead.

At this moment, a barbarian covered in animal skins in the distance laughed and spoke up, "I heard that Your Highness Nangong Miao has lost her Imperial Clan talent. Why not come and visit the Cangxuan Ancient Clan? The men of our ancient clan are very strong and can ensure that you will live in comfort for the rest of your life."

This barbarian was from Canglitian and was the eldest son of an ancient clan that possessed a Legacy of ancient physical refinement Cultivation Technique.

"Noisy."

Suddenly, an unquestionable rebuke resounded before the Immortal Palace.

It did not come from Nangong Miao, but from her royal brother, Nangong Mingli, who stood further away.

Before the words faded, the flame mark on Nangong Mingli's forehead flashed.

The barbarian in the distance had not even reacted before his body ignited with strange pink Li Fire from the inside out.

The barbarian's powerful physical body, tempered by countless Heaven And Earth Treasure, should have been invulnerable to any technique, yet it was defenseless against the pink Li Fire.

His physical body was burned until it turned charred and cracked; the blood that sprayed from the fissures was instantly incinerated by the Li Fire.

Terrified and desperate screams echoed before the Immortal Palace. The barbarian hurriedly tried to activate various life-saving techniques of his clan, but none were effective.

He could only watch as the Li Fire erupted from within his body, unable to shake it off.

Finally, Nangong Mingli's eyes flashed, and the Li Fire flared up again, consuming the barbarian, who turned to ash and dissipated into the world in the blink of an eye.

Before the Immortal Palace, most of the Cultivators who had just witnessed this scene of incineration remained composed.

They whispered and laughed with each other, or closed their eyes to concentrate, waiting quietly for the Immortal Palace to open, as if they were accustomed to such things.

Even the Cultivators from Canglitian who had come with the barbarian did not step forward to seek justice.

This was the majesty that belonged to the Imperial Clan.

Even if the princes and princesses of the Imperial Clan fought until the sky turned dark, that was the internal business of the Imperial Clan; it was far from the turn of outside Cultivators to criticize or provoke them.

Nangong Mingli extinguished the Li Fire around him, his expression emotionless and his posture composed as he turned and walked slowly toward the Tianmo Gate.

The Cultivators from Canglitian who were on good terms with the barbarian sighed in a low voice, "That is what happens when you train your body but not your brain. I fear the Cangxuan Ancient Clan will suffer a huge loss this time."

With just one sentence, even though the Zhonghuang Imperial Clan and the Cangxuan Ancient Clan were separated by two days, and the challenger had already turned to ash, the Cangxuan Ancient Clan would still have to pay a significant price.

This was the Zhonghuang Imperial Clan.

Nangong Miao remained similarly calm, seeing that the others had already begun to move toward the portals.

She followed the flow of the crowd, looking far toward the Zhongyu Gate, preparing to find an opportunity to break away from the crowd and enter the portal.

At this moment, someone sent a sound transmission to her, "Did he give the qualification for the Zhongyu Gate to you?"

Nangong Miao looked sideways; not far away was Zhang Zixuan, dressed in purple gauze.

"So what if he did?"

"I will help you get in; take me with you."

Although Zhang Zixuan had also participated in the sparring and her order was relatively early, how could that compare to entering alone through the Zhongyu Gate?

Regarding this proposal, Nangong Miao nodded slightly without changing her expression.

In her current state, she indeed needed assistance, and she had worked with Zhang Zixuan for a period of time, so she had some trust in her.

As the distance to the Immortal Palace shortened, the palm-sized palace actually became larger and larger; when they reached the front, the Zhaolai Gate alone was nearly a hundred meters high.

A slit had opened in the Zhaolai Gate, and a halo of light radiated from within, as if someone had forgotten to close the door after leaving.

Jue Yingtian arrived before the gate and took out an item, throwing it into the halo, and the bright light began to turn deep like spilled ink.

The entire Immortal Palace was gradually covered in black patterns, constantly shaking as if it were about to collapse.

Seeing this, Zhang Zixuan slowly moved behind Nangong Miao and placed her hand on her shoulder.

"Now."

She exerted her full strength in her movement technique, and at the same time, the magical talisman in her hand took effect, carrying the two of them away as a wisp of green smoke toward the Zhongyu Gate.

There were indeed Cultivators in the queue who rose up to pursue them, but they were much slower than the two women who had taken the first step.

Arriving before the Zhongyu Gate, the two did not stop. While flying, Nangong Miao took out the Human Illusion, split the colorful mist into two, and integrated them into herself and Zhang Zixuan respectively.

Thus, the two successfully entered the Immortal Palace through the Zhongyu Gate.

Inside the illusion realm of the Immortal Palace, it was empty, with only darkness.

Suddenly, a continent appeared in the darkness, surrounded by immortal light, bringing some brightness to this dark space.

"Who is this, to actually want a whole world? Can they even take it out?"

Zhang Zixuan clicked her tongue in wonder as she looked at the materialized continent. She and Nangong Miao nodded to each other, then separated to search for what they sought.

As the first batch of people entered the Immortal Palace, the previously empty space gradually began to manifest objects.

Nangong Miao used a technique to slay a beast that had materialized based on someone's inner thoughts, and she actually saw two familiar figures.

"Fourth Sister, Sixth Sister."

Her gaze stalled, and she whispered.

However, these two had only form but no spirit. She lingered for a moment, looking at them, then composed her emotions and continued her search.

Not long after, she saw another familiar object, which was the supreme throne from the Yongri Imperial Palace. Seeing this, she smiled knowingly.

"This is likely what my royal brother is thinking of. It seems this Immortal Palace illusion is not that intuitive."

Suddenly, a beast's roar came from afar.

Nangong Miao looked from a distance and recognized the beast; it should be a Qiongqi. However, it did not possess the intelligence of the real creature, only the instinct to kill.

She saw the strange beast bite to death a Cultivator from the Beast Taming Sect who had arrived full of joy, then flap its wings and attack other nearby Cultivators.

"I must search faster."

Seeing this, Nangong Miao felt somewhat anxious.

As the number of people entering increased, the unpredictable crises in the illusion realm would also increase.

Who knew what those Cultivators were thinking about in their heads? She had to quickly find what she sought and exit the Immortal Palace.
