41: Chapter 40 Transfer Student

Li Fan filled out his application information on the way and submitted it. By the time he arrived at the entrance of the Rongfan Secret Realm, it was already sunset.

"I didn't expect it to take so long to go back and forth."

Returning to the villa, Li Fan extended his Divine Sense to take a look and, not finding Nangong Miao, breathed a sigh of relief.

"She must still be in seclusion."

He walked to the stone table in the courtyard and poured himself a cup of wolfberry health tea that had been steeped for a while.

While he was looking down drinking tea, when he looked up again, Nangong Miao had suddenly appeared, sitting opposite him with one hand supporting her chin, speaking with a smile.

"Husband~, what were you doing out this afternoon?"

Li Fan had gotten used to Nangong Miao's sudden appearances over the past few days, and he was just about to tell her the truth.

Nangong Miao reached out, gently took Li Fan's hand, and then pulled it to her face, rubbing against it softly.

"Husband is still so soft-skinned."

Seeing the high-and-mighty Imperial Clan Princess from the Immortal Palace acting as docile as a kitten now,

Li Fan couldn't help but feel his heart racing. Having caught his breath that afternoon, he was ready to stand tall again.

However, Nangong Miao's willow-leaf eyebrows furrowed slightly as she sniffed gently.

"This scent..."

Then, Nangong Miao looked at Li Fan with an unkind gaze.

Li Fan inwardly cursed, remembering that Xun Wanjiang had held his hand during the supplementary enrollment.

"Husband..."

Nangong Miao climbed over the stone table onto Li Fan, touching his face.

"I didn't discipline you for just one afternoon, and you've gotten tough again?"

As she spoke, Nangong Miao's hand slid down from Li Fan's cheek.

Feeling the cool sensation of her palm, Li Fan's blood surged, and he really did get tough, pulling Nangong Miao down.

"Who's afraid of whom!"

Li Fan was defeated, unable to rise again.

As the night grew darker, Li Fan lay sprawled on a lounge chair, watching Nangong Miao bathing in the pond.

Nangong Miao was turned sideways to Li Fan, the clear light reflecting her proud body curves, but Li Fan couldn't muster any energy at this moment.

"Tell me, where did you go to have fun this afternoon?"

She tossed her beautiful hair, lowered her brow, and looked back at Li Fan gloomily.

Li Fan took the opportunity to show Nangong Miao the approved enrollment application, explaining that he had gone to attend the supplementary enrollment in the afternoon.

Nangong Miao adjusted her hair and asked casually.

"Does attending supplementary enrollment also require holding a young girl's hand?"

Li Fan had thought Nangong Miao would care about the enrollment matter, but who knew the focus was here.

He was just about to explain, but his eyes rolled, and his tone raised a bit.

"What, A-Miao... are you jealous?"

Li Fan had thought that as an Imperial Clan Princess, Nangong Miao would be able to respond to his teasing calmly.

Who would have thought that Nangong Miao would directly slap the water surface and fly out of the pond.

She glared fiercely at Li Fan.

"You can touch whoever you want; I couldn't care less."

After saying that, she flew straight back to the cultivation room.

"You haven't taken your clothes yet."

Watching Nangong Miao's departing figure, Li Fan knew she was definitely angry this time.

He had no choice but to get up, supporting his waist, grab a handful of wolfberries, and walk slowly toward the cultivation room, complaining to himself.

"I just had to run my mouth; now I have to exert myself again."

Late at night, on the bed in the cultivation room, Nangong Miao leaned against Li Fan's chest and asked softly.

"Do you have to go to... that university tomorrow?"

"Yes, in the future, you might only be able to see me once every few days."

Hearing this, Nangong Miao said as if pouting.

"Hmph, it just so happens I have other things to do too."

Li Fan gently patted Nangong Miao's back.

"A-Miao, there's plenty of time in the future; these two days don't matter."

Hearing this, Nangong Miao seemed to have something to say, but it got stuck in her throat and didn't come out, finally only spitting out one word.

"Hmm..."

The next day.

Li Fan was woken up by the vibration of his student terminal. He pulled himself together and found that Nangong Miao was already sitting in meditation in the cultivation room.

He didn't disturb her, tidied up, and headed straight to Xuanzong University.

The process efficiency of the Xuannü Civilization was just that high; he had only just submitted the application the day before, and by the next day, his class had already been assigned.

"Ahem."

The instructor on the podium coughed twice.

"Today, a transfer student will be coming over. You can get to know each other in a moment."

As soon as the instructor finished speaking, the students in the lecture hall began to discuss among themselves.

"A transfer student? Is it a guy or a girl?"

"Why care about that? The main thing is to look at their strength. Isn't the freshman school competition about to start?"

"Transfer students generally fall into two extremes: either they are super strong, or they just barely made it in."

Amidst the chatter, Li Fan entered the lecture hall just in time.

The noise suddenly quieted down, as if everyone was sizing up this transfer student.

There weren't many people in the lecture hall, only about a dozen including the instructor, but the space was very large.

Each student sat cross-legged on a cushion, with an extremely spacious semi-circular low table in front of them.

And the circle of low tables surrounded the instructor.

Li Fan found the only empty seat and sat down cross-legged.

The whispering discussion started up again, and Li Fan, relying on his Foundation Establishment Cultivator's Divine Sense, could hear it clearly.

"He doesn't look like much. His walk is unsteady, his eyes are listless. Could it be some young master who was forcibly sent here to break an addiction?"

"Bullshit, have you ever seen a young master look this sloppy?"

Hearing this, Li Fan examined himself.

Having tossed and turned with Nangong Miao until late last night, he really hadn't had time to tidy up when he got up in a rush this morning.

His hair was messy, and his clothes were just thrown on casually.

However, a Foundation Establishment Cultivator was no longer an ordinary person, so there wouldn't be any unpleasant odor.

Li Fan didn't care at all; he just slumped casually on the low table and started surfing the internet.

"Since a new student has arrived, I will reiterate a few key points."

"Xuanzong University's Xuan Division is divided into four grades: Jia, Yi, Bing, and Ding. Upon reaching the Yi grade, one can apply for graduation."

"Freshmen start at the Ding grade. Foundation Establishment Early Stage is the Bing grade, Golden Core Early Stage is the Yi grade, and Nascent Soul Early Stage is the Jia grade."

"You are only allowed to stay in each grade for one thousand days. If you haven't broken through to the next grade within one thousand days, you will be directly expelled."

"So you currently have over nine hundred days to achieve a Breakthrough in Qi Refining."

Li Fan, while surfing the internet, listened to the instructor's explanation with a divided mind, comparing it to his own cultivation.

"Then wouldn't I be at the Yi grade now?"

The instructor stamped her foot, and a wave of Spiritual Qi with a faint chill spread all around.

"What I am about to say next is very important, so listen carefully."

She glanced intentionally or unintentionally at Li Fan.

"The most important thing in the school is Credits, which can be used to exchange for almost all the resources you need for cultivation."

"In addition to obtaining Credits by completing various entrusted tasks, the Xuanzong University will issue them every fixed one hundred days."

"The amount issued is determined by your grade, Aptitude, and most importantly, your school ranking!"

Speaking of this, the dozen or so students around started discussing again.

"School ranking?! Is it determined by the freshman school competition?"

The instructor in the center crossed her arms and nodded.

"I know many of you still think that the freshman school competition is just a simple selection of a few people to go up and win some acclaim."

"Now I tell you, you are wrong!"

"Every one of you must participate, and it concerns how many Credits you will obtain in the future."

Hearing this, the students around were only inwardly surprised and not very panicked.

Everyone was newly enrolled, at most at the first or second layer of Qi Refining, and some hadn't even achieved a Breakthrough in Qi Refining yet.

Seeing this, the instructor just smiled slightly.

"Do you still remember the four grades I mentioned earlier?"

"Xuanzong University does not divide by enrollment year, only by grade."

"Your freshman school competition is actually a grade ranking."

"In the Ding grade where you freshmen are, there is no lack of Cultivators who have already been stuck in this grade for seven or eight hundred days."

"Their cultivation is generally at the eighth or ninth layer of Qi Refining, or even at Perfection, so as your instructor, I still advise everyone to achieve a Breakthrough in Realm as soon as possible."

As her words fell, the discussion among the surrounding students completely exploded.

"How can this be? How long have we been enrolled, and we have to deal with Cultivators at the eighth or ninth layer of Qi Refining?"

"Doesn't that mean our ranking will be defaultly much lower, and the Credits issued will also be greatly reduced?"

"Why? This is unfair!"
