90: Chapter 89 Returning to the Old Place
The Medicinal Pill was crystal clear throughout, about the size of a large glass bead, with a wisp of white silk drifting within its core.
This was likely the so-called Spirit Rhyme.
Seeing that he even had the physical object now, Li Fan became interested and sat up.
"This is good stuff. Do you have the Pill Formula?"
Wen Xinmei shook her head.
"The R&D Management Department and the Refining Management Department haven't revealed it."
"However, we might be able to deduce a thing or two from the medicinal herbs they've purchased."
Li Fan put the Medicinal Pill into his System space and then asked,
"Are you heading to Baigong Planet on this trip?"
"Yes, we are departing shortly."
"Are you going along?"
Various memories of the Yan Region surfaced in Li Fan's mind. A sense of nostalgia welled up in his heart, and he sighed softly,
"It is time to go back and take a look..."
Not long after, at a berth in the spaceport in the near-earth orbit of the Main Planet.
The pure white spacecraft, bearing the United Pharmaceutical logo, had its inter-star application approved. Its tail lit up, and it suddenly accelerated, flying toward Baigong Planet.
Inside the cabin, Li Fan looked at the rapidly shrinking Main Planet and clicked his tongue in wonder.
"The tech tree of our Xuannü Civilization really has blossomed in two different directions."
Wen Xinmei also laughed from the side,
"I heard this is a unique method of travel exclusive to the Xuannü Civilization."
"It only requires a few Spirit Stones for power to arrive leisurely."
"Otherwise, crossing the vast distance between two planets would exhaust even Golden Core or Nascent Soul Cultivators."
After the Main Planet completely disappeared into a tiny dot, Li Fan turned to look at the route progress map on the cabin display screen.
Judging by the spacecraft's current location, it would likely take another half a day to arrive.
And this was the speed of the exclusive United Pharmaceutical spacecraft.
If it were a common transport ship between the two planets, it would generally take two or three days.
If one were to rely solely on their Realm and Physical Body to fly across, the time would be significantly longer.
However, half a day was still quite a long time. What should they do to kill time?
Li Fan and Wen Xinmei thought this simultaneously.
The two then exchanged a glance, and in that meeting of gazes, they both understood each other's thoughts.
However, it was somewhat inconvenient to act now.
Because there was a third person on the ship, and that was Xiao Chun, who had come along with them.
Li Fan sent a voice transmission to Wen Xinmei.
"Don't you have a sound-isolation Formation?"
Wen Xinmei recalled their past combat scenarios and hurriedly shook her head, replying via voice transmission,
"No, that simple Formation is only good for masking slight noises."
"When we get down to business, the commotion is so loud..."
Thus, the two turned their gazes simultaneously to Xiao Chun, who was nearby, pondering what to do.
Xiao Chun was sitting in her seat, reviewing the materials of various supplier families, when she suddenly noticed two gazes landing on her.
She thought the two were curious about the spacecraft's flight principle mentioned earlier, so she quickly began to explain,
"It seems to rely on the space Formation that lights up at the tail, compressing the space behind it to push the spacecraft forward, that kind of principle..."
But Li Fan and Wen Xinmei's gazes remained firmly locked on her, with no intention of moving away at all.
Wen Xinmei spoke up,
"How is the soundproofing on this spacecraft?"
Upon hearing this, Xiao Chun pulled up the internal layout of the spacecraft to check and immediately replied,
"The cabin soundproofing is only at a standard level."
"If the Chief intends to have a confidential talk with the family representatives later,"
"It would be more appropriate to find a conference room in the Baigong Planet branch building that has a sound-isolation Formation installed."
Xiao Chun's rigorous consideration of official business made this couple, whose minds were filled with romantic thoughts, feel a pang of guilt, and a touch of awkwardness appeared on their faces.
Just as the two were about to dismiss their thoughts, Xiao Chun found something and spoke again,
"The observation deck on top does have a very high-Rank sound-isolation Formation."
Speaking of which, she looked puzzled.
"It's strange, the furnishings on the observation deck aren't suitable for meetings either..."
"I don't know what purpose the former Chief had in mind for specifically installing this sound-isolation Formation."
Hearing this, Li Fan and Wen Xinmei's eyes flashed, and they spoke in unison,
"Xiao Chun, you continue organizing the materials."
"We are going to the observation deck to take a look."
Once these words were spoken, Xiao Chun suddenly realized.
"So, the Chief and Secretary Li have something confidential to discuss?"
She often encountered such situations, so she spoke according to past practice,
"There is no need for such trouble."
"I will seal my five senses, and you two can talk here."
Wen Xinmei glanced at Li Fan; looking at her, it seemed that staying here would also be fine.
Li Fan was full of embarrassment and hurriedly stood up, pulling Wen Xinmei outside.
"It's my first time taking an inter-star spacecraft; I might as well go up to the observation deck to see the scenery."
Xiao Chun was full of confusion as she watched the two walk out of the cabin and head to the upper level.
The entrance on the floor of the observation deck slowly opened. As Wen Xinmei stepped up, she teased Li Fan,
"I was quite looking forward to doing it in the cabin; Xiao Chun even said she would seal her five senses."
"What's the matter? Are you afraid, Husband?"
Listening to her teasing, Li Fan thought to himself,
"Xinmei really has become much bolder; she's becoming more and more uninhibited."
"I must quickly find a mobile Formation with strong concealment effects that is easy to set up."
"Otherwise, what if one day I want to get intimate with her on the street, what then?"
After keeping the purchase of a concealment Formation in mind, Li Fan looked up and surveyed the layout of the observation deck. Only then did he understand why Xiao Chun said it wasn't suitable for meetings.
The observation deck was located at the bow of the ship and was covered by a huge, transparent, semi-circular dome.
Through the dome, one could see the trails left by passing stars outside the ship, as well as the glow of distant Star Domains.
Inside the observation deck, most of the space was occupied by a huge swimming pool.
The remaining small amount of open space was scattered with lounge chairs, sofas, and even a waterbed.
This wasn't an observation deck at all; it was completely a place for vacation and entertainment.
At this moment, the United Pharmaceutical spacecraft happened to overtake another ship in the same lane.
Li Fan activated his Divine Sense and could clearly see the passengers inside the portholes of that ship, curiously looking over at this observation dome.
Being so exposed, he immediately wanted to back out.
"Xinmei, this observation deck isn't very suitable for doing things either."
"How about we leave it for next time?"
Wen Xinmei, who was tinkering with the observation deck's control panel to the side, clicked a button.
The transparent dome rippled with light, adding a layer of faint fluorescence.
Then Wen Xinmei said, having successfully completed it,
"The observation deck's concealment Formation has been activated. Now, not only can no sound get out, but the dome itself is also one-way transparent..."
Hearing this, and seeing how open and exposed the place was, Li Fan still felt a bit uneasy in his heart for a moment.
Wen Xinmei was still clicking on the control panel; she swiped to another page and raised an eyebrow.
"Artillery Mode?"
"What is this? Is it a weapon defense function?"
So she clicked it, and rows of iron racks rose from the floor.
These iron racks were of various sizes, with piles of strange-looking equipment placed on the layers.
At a glance, Li Fan was astonished.
"Is this damn thing a proper observation deck?"
Looking at the rows of items, there were even over a dozen different types of beds, neatly placed vertically in the racks.
He suddenly felt something was amiss and slowly moved backward, then stepped on the door switch on the floor.
A mechanical prompt sounded.
"Concealment Formation activated, door locked!"
Wen Xinmei, by the control console, looked over at the sound and gave a wicked smile.
"Since you're already here, do you still want to run, Husband?"
