10: Chapter 10 A Triumphant Return! The Ultimate Organizing Solution for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

Away from the noisy killing field, Polaris stopped steadily under a natural ice mound fault five kilometers away from the battlefield.

This was an excellent hiding spot.

The fault was in an inverted L-shape, perfectly blocking the wind about to blow from the north.

The thick ice cap was also a massive barrier, shielding the view and falling snow from above.

Unless one walked right up to it, it was impossible to discover a black tracked vehicle hidden underneath.

Hiss!

The tracks of Polaris stopped rotating.

The Primary Efficiency Boiler switched back to the most fuel-efficient idle mode.

Lu Chen carried two blood-stained sacks into the cabin and locked the door behind him.

“City Lord!”

Lin Wan, who had been on edge, was so excited she almost jumped when she saw Lu Chen appear unharmed.

But her gaze soon fell on the sacks in his hands.

The two sacks were heavy and fresh blood seeped through them.

Thump! Thump!

Lin Wan's heart pounded wildly.

Lu Chen threw the sacks onto the floor, making a dull thud.

“Give me a hand.”

Lu Chen took off his snow-covered coat, shook it out, and hung it on a hook by the door.

Lin Wan hurried forward and untied the ropes of the sacks.

When she saw the contents inside, her breath hitched.

There were over a dozen pieces of fresh Snow Bear meat, covered in marble-like fat textures, radiating an astonishing amount of heat.

There were also over a dozen pieces of low-grade coal crystals glowing with red light.

And an intermediate beast core as large as a goose egg, crystal clear.

In small to medium-sized Mobile City, such an intermediate beast core would be enough to make two gangs fight for three days and three nights!

And now, this man had simply tossed it on the floor in less than two hours.

His posture was nonchalant, completely indifferent to its value.

“Don't just stand there, get to work.”

Lu Chen could not tolerate these precious materials being scattered messily in his Ark of Truth.

In half an hour, Lin Wan witnessed what was called the aesthetics of organization.

Lu Chen directed her to stack the dozen or so coal crystals seamlessly into the coal bin.

The intermediate beast core was wiped clean with a soft cloth by Lu Chen.

He placed the beast core in a specially made shock-proof groove above the dashboard.

The most troublesome part was the dozen or so pieces of Snow Bear meat; the constant temperature of twenty degrees inside the vehicle was a breeding ground for meat spoilage.

But Lu Chen was prepared.

He used a short knife to cut the bear meat into perfectly equal strips.

Then he removed an interior wall panel on the right side of the cabin.

It was right against the iron sheet that was minus sixty degrees outside—a natural ultra-low-temperature freezer!

He stacked the meat strips neatly in the interlayer and covered the panel back up.

He even used a ruler to measure if the gaps around it were consistent.

After doing all this, he nodded in satisfaction.

Everything was in its place.

Although the twenty-square-meter cabin felt cramped, it presented a rigorous aesthetic of order.

On the left was the roaring boiler, providing heat.

On the right were the energy-filled coal bin and the natural freezer.

At the foot of the bed was a soilless cultivation box nurturing the greenness of life.

Above was an asbestos dome that completely locked in the temperature.

On the table, there were also two cups of steaming purified water.

Phew...

Lu Chen sat on the iron bed, relaxing his tense shoulders.

As he looked at everything he had built with his own hands, a strong sense of satisfaction filled his chest.

Lin Wan held the water cup, looked at Lu Chen's profile, and then looked around this sanctuary that could be called luxurious.

Outside was a purgatory where countless wanderers killed each other for a wind-sheltered cave.

Inside, it was as warm as spring, a mobile citadel with abundant resources.

She was certain that the most correct decision she had made in her life...

...was to hold onto that seed box and then meet this man named Lu Chen.

“City Lord...” Lin Wan's voice trembled slightly.

She lowered her head and said word by word, “Thank you. If it weren't for you, I would have become an ice sculpture outside by now.”

Lu Chen didn't look at her.

He just picked up the water cup, took a sip of warm water, and looked out the window.

Through the bulletproof glass, the sky outside had turned completely dark.

“It's too early to thank me now.”

Lu Chen put down the water cup and scanned the window.

The originally steady car body suddenly gave a violent shake, as if it had been hit hard by a huge object!

“Wooo!!!”

A terrifying roar pierced through the night sky of the Pale Shoals!

That roar did not belong to a beast; it was the death shriek of extreme wind speed rubbing against the air!

The searchlight beam outside the window could originally illuminate a dozen meters.

But in an instant, it was swallowed by the overwhelming gray-black airflow!

Lu Chen gripped the water cup in his hand, straightened his back, and stared intently at the center of the storm.

“The real test is here.”

Extreme Cold Ice Storm, descends!
