142: Luck? Talent or strength?

One by one, everyone made their Dao Heart vows, then entered through the towering giant gate.

Chen Cuo was naturally among them; he had no acquaintances around him and slowly entered the pavilion.

Passing through the gate was like passing through a narrow, long passage, a momentary black hole, finally arriving at a sky emanating countless points of light.

The points of light were colorful, continuously wandering across the entire sky, their colors varied, carrying different Qi and Aura.

Most of the points of light carried terrifying killing Qi, having experienced battles, as if in the next instant, boundless Evil Qi would overflow and take lives.

These points of light were various Magical Artifacts; some were larger, some smaller, all different, and the vast majority were weapons, no wonder such dense killing Qi lingered among them.

However, for Chen Cuo, it was just that; after all, the objects slumbering here were merely dead things.

What he cared about was how to acquire these things, and what the true test was.

Chen Cuo looked around; in this space, although there were not many people, only fifty or so, he could still see one or two nearby, while these points of light were as vast as the sea.

Lingbao Mountain, incredible!

Such immense wealth, if no one coveted it, even ghosts wouldn't believe it; the Four Great Sects surely wanted to devour this wealth, but Lingbao Mountain had been peaceful for ten thousand years, with no major wars occurring.

It seems that Chen Cuo had underestimated Lingbao Mountain; at least its true strength was far more than what it showed, for a single Golden Core Immortal Master alone could not guard this treasure mountain.

Lingbao Mountain has the strength to contend with Nascent Soul Cultivators, whether it be people or something else...

Although there were many points of light, no one had yet been able to acquire one; there was only one day, twelve hours, and those who did not get a Magical Artifact to choose them would be eliminated.

Chen Cuo wandered around, seeing Disciples exerting all their strength, using various divine arts, either capturing or chasing.

Two people held a trident and a halberd in their hands, but the two Magical Artifacts trembled incessantly, emitting a monstrous Aura and overwhelming killing intent, making the two people tremble with fear and instantly let go.

Evidently, the two Magical Artifacts did not acknowledge them and transformed back into floating points of light.

These were just Magical Artifacts; those even more dazzling points of light, with stronger Auras, were Magic Treasures.

Such existences were even harder to pursue.

"These Magical Artifacts and even Magic Treasures are mostly weapons that have fought alongside peerless Prodigies; their Aura is powerful, beyond our grasp. Let's go look for those Magical Artifacts refined by Sect Disciples!"

"Okay, brother!"

Their conversation was overheard by Chen Cuo; it seemed that acquiring a Magic Treasure was indeed not easy.

At this moment, some people were already employing various methods. Snowy Mei, whom Chen Cuo had been observing, now heard a strange summons in her ear, and from the sound, it seemed to be coming from one direction.

"What is it?"

A strange feeling arose in her heart; she was no longer calm, but instead felt Opportunity bestowed upon her.

She then headed towards a deep, secluded direction.

Several individuals whom Qingfengzi could also call true Disciples, such as Zhang Zhao, now had their souls capable of Soul Emergence; his Physical Body remained still, while his soul ascended to the heavens.

This was clearly a method only Golden Core Cultivators could employ. With his extremely subtle perception, he sensed a Magic Treasure that was perfectly suited to him.

On the other side, Chen Cuo had not recognized Mu Erhun, who was a refined young man, but then saw him instantly become rigid like a machine; a strangely shaped helmet was placed on his head.

Above it was a piece of glass, presumably a crystal-polished glazed lens, with flickering lights that seemed to provide certain answers.

The Lingchan Twins kept muttering incessantly, turning left one moment, right the next, acting very peculiar.

After some searching, Chen Cuo found the Foundation Establishment old Daoist, Ling Bu Zi; he had concealed himself nearby, carefully observing what the other party intended to do.

To seize it by force, or...

For a Magic Treasure to choose its master, and for Magic Treasures to possess spirits, it was simply impossible for others to forcibly compel them to acknowledge a master, because there were manipulations on them, perhaps done by the Grand Elder of Lingbao Mountain, that Golden Core Immortal Master.

As he looked around, he indeed saw two people who seemed to have struck gold: one was chosen by a golden alms bowl, and the other was struck by a strangely shaped staff.

The two were one Foundation Establishment and one Qi Refining, both Family Cultivators. Chen Cuo, judging by sight alone, could not discern any differences between them; they were both the type he could kill with a single slap, so he had no idea how the treasures chose their masters.

Was it really luck?

Perhaps the answer could be found with Ling Bu Zi.

Ling Bu Zi, after all, was an old hand in the Sect for many years; he surely knew some answers, which was why he didn't seem rushed at all.

And what was he doing? He actually pulled out a bed directly from his Storage Pouch and went straight to sleep!

Holy cow!

It was too outrageous; Chen Cuo could hardly believe his eyes.

While Ling Bu Zi was sound asleep, a crimson light instantly flew towards him. In the blink of an eye, Chen Cuo saw a three-legged golden toad, covered in crimson fleshy growths, looking adorable, lying on Ling Bu Zi's chest.

Ah!

To be honest, Ling Bu Zi should thank the rules; if it weren't for the prohibition against private duels and seizing Magic Treasures and Magical Artifacts, Chen Cuo would have slapped that old fellow to death long ago.

"Alas, could it be true..."

Chen Cuo seemed to understand something, combining it with Chang Shengzi's words, and instantly thought of something: perhaps this first test had already begun the moment they finished participating in the ceremony.

This Saint Artifact Pavilion, could it be alive!

Chen Cuo had never understood before how that Golden Core Immortal Master could set the same rules for every single Magical Artifact and Magic Treasure in this place, which were as vast as the sea; wasn't he afraid of dying from exhaustion?

It turned out that what had been testing them all along was this place, the Saint Artifact Pavilion. The Saint Artifact Pavilion was likely a gigantic Magic Treasure that had developed a spirit.

How much could the Disciples' actions outside be disguised in front of a living artifact spirit?

Zero.

Chen Cuo guessed correctly; the assessment had already begun. Their performance and potential had already been recorded by the Saint Artifact Pavilion. The assessment was multifaceted; the first test focused on the Disciple's comprehensive qualities, including strength, luck, Comprehension Ability, and character.

Ling Bu Zi knew this long ago, so he didn't put on any pretense, and naturally, a suitable choice would come to him.
