Chapter 55: Quick Escape (1)

Bang!Not long after the primordial roar echoed out across the battlefield did the massive gnoll chieftain knock the forest rabbit lord flying with a terrifying power far beyond what he had used before. Momentarily knocking the forest rabbit lord out of the fight, as he turned around and rushed back towards the tribe where Scaly was massacring the group of injured gnolls while the gnoll shaman tried its best to stop her to no avail.

Squeak!

Seeing this, the surrounding forest rabbits all understood that this was their chance, as they all began to rush towards the gnolls. Although their lord was also gone, they had numbers on their side and would be able to overwhelm the remaining gnolls without the gnoll chieftain around to protect them.

Though none of the rabbits had any clue about where the lizard had suddenly come from, all of them felt thankful for its selfless sacrifice in dealing with the gnolls.

Squeak!?

Squeak...!

Only two smaller forest rabbits located at the edge of the battlefield managed to recognize the lizard currently causing chaos among the injured gnolls-

SQQQUUEEAAK!

However, their squeaks were quickly drowned out by the loud sounds of gnolls and rabbits violently clashing with each other. Giving them no chance to inform the more powerful forest rabbits about the identity of the lizard, let alone the forest rabbit lord who was behind the attack on the gnolls.

Not to mention, both of them had a feeling that even if they did say something to their lord, it wouldn’t change anything, as the forest rabbits and gnolls had already been at each other’s throat for a long time during their fight for control over the forest... Narrowing both her eyes as she realized that she wouldn’t be able to continue massacring the injured gnolls any longer, Scaly wasted no time in turning around to make a tactical escape before the gnoll chieftain could reach her-

Taking down another few injured gnolls along the way as she managed to just barely cross the threshold to the next level. Officially reaching level nine. Managing to directly increase her level by five in a matter of a few minutes.

If only she could continue that pace of leveling, it wouldn’t take long for her to catch up to the gnoll chieftain and the forest rabbit lord. Unfortunately, such a speed of increasing her strength was not possible under normal circumstance... And she would now also have to escape before the gnoll chieftain could catch her!

Even managing to kill a strong gnoll shaman with the forest rabbit lord having already recovered and returned before him.

Hehe~ That was easier than I expected!

Seeing all of this from beneath a bush that had been covered in blood from a gnoll that had died with half his body collapsing on top of the bush, Scaly could not help chuckling happily to herself upon seeing the gnoll chieftain leaving. Knowing that her earlier ambush of the injured gnolls had been successful and ended up saving her a lot of time when compared to her former slow hunting speed.

If there was anything bad about her current situation, it would be the fact that the rest of the injured gnolls were now being guarded by far more powerful gnolls as they were all slowly being transferred inside the tribe itself, a place that she doubted she would be able to escape alive from if she tried to sneak inside and repeat what she had just done.

But... Even if I can’t target the injured gnolls any longer, can’t I just target the injured forest rabbits? Although they are far better guarded compared to the gnolls, with my increase in strength, I should at least be able to take down a dozen or so of them before I get chased away or find myself targeted by the forest rabbit lord...

Narrowing both her eyes as she thought about this, Scaly could not help turning her attention towards the injured forest rabbits located at the edge of the battlefield-
