62: Wen Yan was injured and resisted the dragon

The two set off again, and the atmosphere became increasingly subtle.

Yu Meier was no longer as chattering as before; she remained silent most of the time, only occasionally glancing at Jiang Chen beside her from the corner of her eye.

She found herself understanding Jiang Chen less and less.

Yu Meier initially protested a few times, but later she couldn't be bothered to say anything.

Scolding him had no effect; tempting him, he ignored it.

All her methods, in front of this man, were like hitting cotton—useless.

She simply gave up, content to be a hanger-on.

Jiang Chen ate the meat, she drank the soup, and she reaped quite a harvest, a hundred times better than her aimlessly blundering around alone.

After walking for a while longer, Yu Meier, bored, kicked a stone.

Finally, she couldn't help but break the silence, "Hey, Block of Wood, where exactly are we going?"

"Looking for someone," Jiang Chen replied concisely.

"Looking for someone?"

"Who are you looking for? Your fellow disciples?"

Yu Meier pressed, recalling Nangong Mingyue and Xiao Tiandu, who had been separated by the spatial rift earlier, "This place is so big, how will you find them?"

Jiang Chen didn't answer, just kept walking on his own.

Yu Meier pouted, long accustomed to his attitude.

Her eyes darted around, and she changed to a curious tone: "Speaking of which, that Fairy who came in with you guys, she's really pretty."

"It's just... well... a bit cold, Holy Son Jiang, do you like that type?"

As she spoke, she subtly observed Jiang Chen's reaction.

However, Jiang Chen's face still showed no change in expression.

Yu Meier felt a bit disheartened, and just as she was about to say something more, Jiang Chen suddenly stopped.

Jiang Chen sensed something, and his brow furrowed.

"Keep up."

Jiang Chen didn't explain further, quickening his pace.

"Hey! Wait for me!"

As she spoke, Yu Meier also used her movement technique to follow.

Not long after, the two crossed a mountain ridge.

In the distant sky, a golden light and a bloody streak of light were frantically chasing each other.

The bloody streak of light was in front, moving at an astonishing speed, while the golden light behind it was even more overbearing; wherever it passed, the space violently twisted, as if it would collapse at any moment.

The terrifying Aura, even from dozens of miles away, still made Yu Meier's heart palpitate.

"What... what's happening?" she said, horrified.

"Ao Ya of the Myriad Demon Cave," Jiang Chen said indifferently.

He recognized that incomparably overbearing Dragon might.

As for the one being chased, although his movement technique was frantic, judging by his characteristic flamboyant Qi, there could be no one else but Wen Yan.

Boom!

Just then, Ao Ya, who was behind, seemed to lose patience.

He let out an earth-shattering Dragon roar, suddenly opened his mouth, and spewed out an incomparably thick golden Dragon breath.

That Dragon breath instantly crossed several miles and fiercely struck Wen Yan's back.

"Pfft!"

Wen Yan staggered, fell from mid-air, spat out a large mouthful of fresh blood, and like a kite with a broken string, crashed towards Jiang Chen and them.

Jiang Chen's figure flickered, instantly appearing in Wen Yan's falling trajectory, reaching out his hand, and steadily catching him.

"Ouch..."

Wen Yan lay in Jiang Chen's arms, his face as pale as paper, a large section of his chest caved in, and his Qi was extremely weak.

He opened his eyes, saw Jiang Chen's face, and even managed to force out a smile that was uglier than crying.

"Saint... Saint... I knew... you are my destined... benefactor..."

Before he finished speaking, another mouthful of blood spewed out, splattering all over Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen frowned, took out a healing Medicinal Pill from his Storage Ring, put it into his mouth, and at the same time, a pure spiritual power entered his body, protecting his heart meridian.

"How did you provoke him?" Jiang Chen asked in a deep voice.

"Cough cough..."

Wen Yan caught his breath, pointed to his chest, and said with a bitter face, "For... for this thing..."

He laboriously pulled something out of his chest.

A heart, covered with profound patterns and condensed from lightning, appeared before Jiang Chen's eyes.

"Heart of the Primordial Thunder Dragon?" Jiang Chen's eyes narrowed.

This was a good item!

No wonder Ao Ya was relentlessly pursuing him; the Dragon Clan had an almost obsessive possessiveness over the remains of their own kind, let alone a treasure like the heart of a Primordial Thunder Dragon.

"This guy... he's a lunatic..."

Wen Yan said with lingering fear, "I just happened to pass by, saw it, and picked it up... and he chased me like a mad dog... doesn't he have any sense?"

Jiang Chen ignored his complaints, "Are your injuries serious?"

"Not enough to die."

Wen Yan gave a wry smile, "Saint, this guy is a pervert, his Physical Body is ridiculously strong, not easy to deal with!"

"It's fine."

Jiang Chen then looked at Yu Meier, "Watch him, you two retreat further away for now."

Yu Meier nodded; she could feel the terrifying Aura in the distance rapidly approaching.

Jiang Chen looked up, gazing into the distance.

A golden figure, treading the Void Realm, walked step by step.

The person who arrived was Ao Ya of Myriad Demon Cave.

His gaze passed over Jiang Chen and landed on the Thunder Dragon's Heart in Wen Yan's arms, his eyes instantly becoming incredibly fervent.

Then, he looked at Jiang Chen again, his golden pupils filled with disdain.

"It's you?"

Ao Ya's voice was cold, "Hand over the item, and then, scram."

He knew Jiang Chen, and had personally witnessed him in action outside.

But in his eyes, all of the Human Race were ants, no different.

Yu Meier was so oppressed by his terrifying Dragon might that she could barely breathe, her face turning pale.

Wen Yan was even more terrified, trembling and instinctively shrinking behind Yu Meier.

This made Yu Meier frown; was he even a man?

Jiang Chen, however, seemed unfazed, watching with a calm expression.

He looked at Ao Ya and shook his head, "What if I say no?"

The disdain on Ao Ya's face instantly turned to rage.

"Courting death!"

He couldn't be bothered to say another word, and his terrifying Aura erupted.

He didn't even use any Divine Ability; he simply took a single step, and his figure instantly vanished from its original spot.

The next moment, he had already appeared in front of Jiang Chen, a fist wrapped in golden Dragon scales, carrying the terrifying power to tear through the Void Realm, fiercely smashing down towards Jiang Chen's head!

This punch was a pure burst of Physical Body strength, yet it was more terrifying than any Divine Ability!

He wanted to crush this person who dared to challenge his authority into a pulp in the most direct and brutal way!

Facing this world-destroying punch, Jiang Chen's eyes also ignited with raging Battle Intent.

He did not retreat; he also clenched his fist, dark Devilish Qi wrapped around it, and met Ao Ya's fist, striking out fearlessly!

"Good timing!"
