124: Chapter 124 Now Begins! Betting on the Nation's Fate!
Lin Zhou's words echoed in the tent, concise and powerful. For the first time since entering the tent, a genuine smile appeared on Colonel Fattah's face.
"Thank you for your trust, Leader Lin." Fattah stood up and extended his hand to Lin Zhou. This time, Lin Zhou also stood up and shook his hand.
"Since this is a partnership, we need to be completely honest with each other," Lin Zhou said, getting straight to the point. "What is your action plan? What kind of help do you need from us?"
Fattah nodded. "Of course. Our plan is roughly divided into two stages. In the first stage, we need to secretly train an elite force on your land, while receiving and transporting some light weapons and supplies. These supplies will be secretly shipped across the border."
Lin Zhou pondered for a moment. "Training personnel and transporting supplies can be arranged, but it must be done under strict confidentiality. I have the national Police Force here; they can provide necessary protection and assistance, but on the condition that they must strictly obey my orders and cannot directly participate in any of your military operations."
"That is the rule; I understand," Fattah said, indicating his agreement. "We will only use your land as a transit and training base. As for the operations, they will be carried out by our own people."
"Very well," Lin Zhou asked again. "And the second stage?"
"When our preparations are complete and the personnel training is finished, we will launch the second stage. At that time, we will launch a general offensive directly in Cairo," Fattah's voice carried a hint of coldness. "At that time, we will create some public opinion momentum on a global scale. We just need the Cyber Freedom Republic to remain silent."
Fattah clearly knew that Lin Zhou could not take a stance while the situation was unclear, so he simply asked them to remain quiet for now.
"If we achieve victory, we need you to recognize the new regime immediately and break the diplomatic stalemate. Once the situation stabilizes, we will fulfill everything we have promised."
Lin Zhou listened and nodded slowly. "All our agreements were signed with the Egyptian Government. Who leads the government is not important; we will make our voice heard at the critical moment. I just hope you can notify us before you launch, so we can be prepared."
After speaking, he paused and continued to ask, "Even if you control Cairo, what will you do if other regions rebel?"
Fattah smiled mysteriously.
"I am not the only one doing these things; when the time comes, others will naturally handle those problems."
At this point, Lin Zhou was completely on board, and he began to plot with Fattah on how to train personnel more covertly.
Lin Zhou said, "The conflict between you and the Police Force right now can be used as a cover."
Fattah raised an eyebrow and said with a smile, "Please, tell me more."
Lin Zhou crouched down and took a twig to slowly draw on the ground.
"The incident between you and our country's Police Force during the exercise has already caused quite a stir. There is currently no movement within Egypt, likely to save your face."
Fattah's face darkened, and he nodded silently.
Lin Zhou continued, "Then your motive to get back at them is easy to understand. You can continue to apply for funding and equipment from home, citing the need to strengthen anti-electronic warfare capabilities and conduct a joint military exercise in the future to completely suppress the Police Force."
Fattah was thoughtful, then immediately said, "That is a good idea. No one will suspect that we are actually working together. I can take these funds and build a training ground in the desert modeled after the core area of Cairo, using the applied funds to train the manpower we need. As long as we perform a few more acts, we can continuously obtain funds and personnel. By using the normal personnel replenishment process to transfer our people over, it will also increase our cover."
Lin Zhou looked at him and nodded. It seemed there were no fools in this world; perhaps they just hadn't thought of this point at the time.
"Then how much time do you estimate it will take to complete all the arrangements?" Lin Zhou asked. He needed to maintain the initiative rather than being passively dragged into it.
"A preliminary estimate is within half a year. The specific time will depend on the international situation and our internal preparations," Fattah replied.
"Within half a year..." Lin Zhou calculated in his mind. This coincided with the "half-year deadline" he had previously set with Chen Yuan. If he could open up CIPS before then, introduce funding from Blackstone Group, and make progress in the cooperation with Fattah, it would be a huge boost to the national finances and international status.
"Why were you sent here?" Lin Zhou suddenly asked.
Hearing this, Fattah smiled bitterly. "My family and General Mubarak have been family friends for generations. Coming here was just to find a place for me to gain some experience, given the friendship between our families. According to the plan, I am supposed to serve as commander here for two years. As long as there are no major problems, I will be transferred to Cairo, promoted to general, and command the main force."
Lin Zhou's eyes flickered, but in the end, he did not ask what was on his mind.
Fattah seemed to know what Lin Zhou wanted to ask. So he sighed and said, "Although my personal relationship with him is not bad, and our families have been friends for generations, our political ideologies do not align. Sooner or later, we will meet on the battlefield."
Lin Zhou listened and nodded. Political differences were indeed not that easy to bridge.
"Very well," Lin Zhou stood up. "After I go back, I will arrange for someone to coordinate with you and assist with your work. It will most likely be He Jun who handles these matters. If there are any changes, I will let you know. You can discuss the details with him then."
Fattah also stood up, his expression becoming serious. "You will not regret today's decision. A brand new Egypt will become your strong backing."
"I hope so. I have staked the fate of the nation on this. I hope we have a pleasant cooperation." Lin Zhou extended his hand.
"Pleasant cooperation," Fattah grasped Lin Zhou's hand. The two held their hands tightly together, reaching a secret pact in the desert night.
After sending Fattah off, Lin Zhou stood outside the tent, looking up at the starry sky of Bir Tawil.
This was undoubtedly the boldest decision he had made since founding the country. A gamble that staked the future of the Cyber Freedom Republic. But he believed that the greater the risk, the greater the reward. He needed a complete turnaround, a chance for this newborn nation to truly stand firm.
He took out his phone and glanced at the date. In less than a week, it would be the day when the CEO of Blackstone Group, Schwartzman, would come to Beijing to sign the formal cooperation agreement. And the integration of CIPS was also proceeding under the coordination of Director Zhou.
Everything was progressing intensely.
