184: Chapter 184 The Embroidered Uniform Guard! A Sharp Blade in the Shadows!

Lin Zhou sat on the sofa at the Beijing station, gesturing toward the gloomy-looking Tajik youth sitting in a wheelchair beside him.

"This is Jack. From now on, he will be responsible for national security and intelligence gathering, reporting directly to me."

Qin Yue and Chen Yuan exchanged a glance, neither speaking.

He Jun, however, raised an eyebrow. As an expert in his field, he could sense the viper-like aura emanating from Jack.

It was a trait possessed only by those who had long lurked in the shadows, always ready to deliver a fatal blow.

"Since we are a nation now, the official titles need to be standardized."

Jack spoke in a voice with a slightly mechanical tone, his single eye sweeping across the bigwigs present.

"The Ministry of Revenue, the Privy Council, the Grand Marshal... I quite like this style; it has an air of old-world ruthlessness."

He paused, his lips curling into an unpleasant smirk.

"So, I shouldn't be called something like Director of Intelligence; that sounds like a manager in an office building."

"From now on, my department will be called the 'Jinyiwei,' and I will be the Commander, specifically tasked with patrolling the world for our Lord."

A brief, deathly silence fell over the conference room.

Chen Yuan was holding his teacup; hearing these three words, his hand trembled, and the tea almost splashed onto his lap.

Zhang Zhe, the Chief Justice, felt his eye twitch violently, and he cursed silently, "Terminal case of adolescent delusion."

Jinyiwei? That was a historically famous, yet notorious, secret service agency.

"This... isn't it a bit too conspicuous?"

Qin Yue spoke tactfully, her fingers tapping lightly on the marble tabletop.

"We are a modern nation, after all. Using a name like that will easily make others think we're some kind of dictatorial workshop in diplomatic circles."

Jack ignored Qin Yue's skepticism and simply pulled a black, paper-thin terminal from his pocket.

"A name is just a code; whether or not one can get the job done is what matters."

He swiped his fingers across the screen a few times, and a detailed list was projected into mid-air.

"Minister Chen, there were some legal loopholes in your bank loans. I've already patched them for you; be sure to check the new contracts when you return."

"Chief Justice Zhang, your nephew who is studying law in Boston got into some trouble at a party last night. I handled that for you as well."

The expressions of Chen Yuan and Zhang Zhe changed instantly.

Those were private family matters they hadn't told anyone about, not even Lin Zhou.

Yet, in the hands of this disabled youth, it seemed that not even a thirty-minute secret could remain hidden.

Jack put away the terminal, his expression unchanged, as if he had only done a trivial thing.

"I don't need diplomatic prestige. I only need to make those who dare to harbor ulterior motives sleep with one eye open."

Lin Zhou waved his hand, cutting off the others' internal complaints.

"The name is settled. Jinyiwei is fine; it sounds good to me."

"Jack, from now on, you must not only keep an eye on the hungry wolves outside but also tighten the fences within our own borders."

Jack nodded slightly, turned his wheelchair around, and headed straight for the door without waiting for the meeting to end.

"I'm going to go out and fish up a few discarded losers; they are the true geniuses at intelligence work."

"Before the meeting ends, I will leave an encrypted channel for everyone. If there are any dirty or tiring jobs in the future, you can place an order with me."

Watching Jack disappear at the end of the corridor, the air in the conference room seemed to circulate freely again.

He Jun let out a long breath and looked at Lin Zhou, feeling somewhat worried.

"Lord, this blade is too sharp. I'm afraid it will hurt our own people."

Lin Zhou leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes, and massaged his temples.

"Our nation is like a vault built on quicksand; it's full of holes."

"Without this blade, before we even finish building the house, those ants will have gnawed us down to the bone."

He opened his eyes, his tone calm yet unquestionable.

"The matter of the Jinyiwei ends here. Jack has his own methods; you just need to cooperate."

"Now, let's talk business. Minister Chen, how is our purse doing lately?"

Chen Yuan patted his thick briefcase, his previously furrowed brow finally relaxing slightly.

"Lord, this is the only news in a while that can let a person sleep soundly."

He pulled a form out of his bag and slammed it onto the table.

"It's only been half a month since the last Miracle Seed launch, and our overseas orders have already exploded."

"The total value of our current prospective orders has already broken through the three billion USD mark."

This number made everyone present hold their breath.

Half a month, three billion—this is simply the speed of robbery.

Lin Zhou, however, remained very calm. He glanced at the order details, a cold smile curling on his lips.

"How much did those big players in Europe and America take?"

Chen Yuan pointed to the names at the very top, his tone somewhat annoyed.

"Syngenta, Monsanto, Bayer—these giants have swept up nearly sixty percent of the goods."

"They were very generous with their orders; not only did they prepay in full, but they were even willing to pay a premium to snatch up the first batch."

Qin Yue chimed in, "These people have bad intentions; it's obvious they're aiming for reverse engineering."

"They want to break down our genetic coding in their labs so they can produce and sell it themselves."

Lin Zhou chuckled and tapped a few times on the large screen.

He looked at Chen Yuan, his tone becoming serious.

"How much of this money has arrived in the account?"

Chen Yuan tapped his calculator, a hint of pride appearing on his face.

"With the prepayment plus the balance of the first batch, after deducting various costs, we can pocket eight to nine hundred million USD."

"After deducting the previous military expenses and infrastructure prepayments, the national treasury has not only recovered but is also much more substantial than before."

Lin Zhou stood up and walked to the window, looking at the bustling night view of Beijing.

"Good. Money makes things easier to get done."

"Money is our courage, and it is also the foundation for us to flip the table internationally in the future."

"Next agenda item. Dean Qin, how is the progress on the diplomatic front?"

Qin Yue opened her notebook, her tone filled with the confidence of someone who has everything under control.

"Thanks to the seeds, those chieftains in Africa now look at us with more affection than they would their own fathers."

"Within half a month, eighteen more countries have signed formal diplomatic communiqués. The total number of countries with diplomatic relations is now thirty-nine."

"At this rate, by the first half of next year, we will be able to win over all fifty-plus countries in Africa."

Lin Zhou turned around, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes.

"Next year, I want Egypt to formally propose at the UN General Assembly that the Cyber Freedom Republic become the 194th member state."

"Before that, we need to have a proper foundation; we can't just rely on those hundred-plus security guards to hold things up anymore."
