126: Chapter 126 My Sister Returns Home: A Special Festive Atmosphere
Lin Zhou instructed Chen Yuan and Zhang Zhe to go back and prepare for the follow-up coordination work, while he himself hailed a car and rushed to the arts center where Lin Wan was currently receiving special training.
When he arrived at the arts center, Lin Wan was just walking out of a dance studio, fine beads of sweat seeping from her forehead, yet a satisfied smile on her face. Seeing Lin Zhou, her eyes lit up, and she ran over quickly.
"Brother!" Lin Wan threw herself into Lin Zhou's arms, her voice tinged with a hint of coquetry.
"Hey, Your Highness the Princess, you must be exhausted, right?" Lin Zhou patted his sister's head, his eyes filled with doting affection.
"Not at all!" Lin Wan lifted her little face, "I'm living such a fulfilling life every day now! The teachers all say I'm making rapid progress!"
"Of course, you are Her Highness the Princess after all," Lin Zhou teased, "Let's go, Brother is taking you home."
"Home?" Lin Wan looked puzzled.
"Yes, our home in Beijing." Lin Zhou took his sister's hand and walked toward the entrance of the arts center, "Your brother has a temporary base in Beijing. You will stay there for this period and prepare for your exams properly."
Lin Wan followed Lin Zhou to a detached villa he had in the Beijing Suburbs. Although the villa was not particularly luxurious, it was elegantly decorated and fully equipped.
"Wow! Brother, this place is so big!" Lin Wan looked around, her eyes flashing with excitement.
"It's prepared for you so you can prepare for your exams here with peace of mind." Lin Zhou arranged the bedroom with the best lighting for her, "The special training teachers will continue to come here to teach you. If you need anything, just tell the housekeeper."
"Thank you, Brother!" Lin Wan happily threw herself onto the bed and rolled around in the soft bedding.
After settling Lin Wan in, Lin Zhou called the housekeeper and asked her to prepare a sumptuous dinner. He knew full well that his sister's training intensity had been high these past few days and she needed to properly replenish her nutrition.
At dinner, Lin Zhou and Lin Wan chatted about the day's events. Lin Wan excitedly recounted interesting anecdotes from her special training, and Lin Zhou listened with great interest. Looking at the vibrant smile on his sister's face, he felt genuinely gratified.
"Brother, are you planning another big move?" Lin Wan suddenly asked.
Lin Zhou took a sip of soup, looked up at his sister, and asked, "Why do you ask that?"
"I saw your live stream!" Lin Wan said, "So many classmates were watching! They all said you were so handsome! And they said our country was built to be really cool!"
Lin Zhou laughed in spite of himself, "You little girl, didn't I say no mobile phones, and to focus on studying?"
"Oh, just occasionally!" Lin Wan stuck out her tongue, "But Brother, are you really going to establish administrative divisions this time when you go to Bir Tawil? Many netizens are discussing it!"
"Yes, it's true." Lin Zhou nodded, "This is a necessity for the country's development, and also to give everyone a greater sense of participation."
"Then will you listen to my opinion?" Lin Wan asked mischievously.
"How could I dare not listen to Her Highness the Princess's opinion?" Lin Zhou said with a smile, "Go ahead, what ideas do you have?"
Lin Wan thought for a moment, "I think our country's administrative divisions should have special names! They shouldn't be like other countries, just called 'XX District' or 'XX City'."
"Then what should they be called?" Lin Zhou asked.
"For example... they could be called 'Dream City', 'Future Port', 'Land of Sparks', or something like that!" Lin Wan's eyes sparkled, "Each district would represent a meaning, a vision! That way, when people hear them, they will feel that our country is full of hope and imagination!"
Lin Zhou listened quietly. Although Lin Wan's ideas were a bit naive and romantic, they were suffused with the radiance of idealism. This was precisely his original intention in establishing this country.
"I will seriously consider Her Highness the Princess's suggestions," Lin Zhou promised.
A few days later, it was Chinese New Year's Eve.
Lin Zhou and Lin Wan spent a special Spring Festival in the villa. Although their parents were not by their sides, the siblings kept each other company and felt the rich atmosphere of the New Year. Lin Zhou cooked personally, preparing a sumptuous New Year's Eve dinner. Lin Wan was responsible for decorating the house, hanging lanterns, and pasting Spring Festival couplets, making the entire villa overflow with a festive atmosphere.
At the dinner table, Lin Zhou gave Lin Wan a big red envelope.
"Happy New Year, Your Highness the Princess!" Lin Zhou said.
"Happy New Year, Brother!" Lin Wan took the red envelope and happily hugged Lin Zhou, "Thank you, Brother! This is the biggest red envelope I have ever received!"
In the evening, the siblings sat on the sofa, watching the Spring Festival Gala on TV. From time to time, Lin Zhou received New Year greeting calls from all over the world, including from diplomat Qin Yue, Minister of Finance Chen Yuan, Chief Justice Zhang Zhe, and even from He Jun and Zhao Li who were far away in Bir Tawil.
They all reported their respective progress to Lin Zhou and also sent their New Year blessings.
Listening to these calls, Lin Zhou felt the heavy responsibility on his shoulders, but also felt a strong sense of motivation. His country was gradually getting on the right track.
"Brother, are you very powerful?" Lin Wan suddenly asked.
Lin Zhou put down his phone and looked at his sister, "Why do you ask that?"
"Because... it seems like everyone in the world is listening to you." Lin Wan gazed at Lin Zhou with admiration, "You are just like a king!"
Lin Zhou smiled and ruffled his sister's hair, "I am indeed a king! It's just that this king of yours can only manage you for now!"
Lin Wan leaned on Lin Zhou's shoulder, feeling an unprecedented sense of stability. She knew that her brother was doing something great, and she, too, wanted to become her brother's pride.
The Spring Festival holiday passed quickly, and Lin Wan continued to throw herself into the intensive preparation for the arts entrance exams. As for Lin Zhou, he once again turned his attention to national affairs.
On the eighth day of the first lunar month, Blackstone Group CEO Schwartzman arrived in Beijing as scheduled.
The official signing ceremony with Lin Zhou's team was scheduled for that afternoon. This was a milestone moment; it meant that the Cyber Freedom Republic would officially welcome its first massive investment from top global capital.
But before that, Lin Zhou received an unexpected call. It was from his mother, Wang Xiue.
"Xiao Zhou, how is your sister doing these days? Is she eating well? Is she studying well?" Wang Xiue's voice was laced with a hint of anxiety.
"Mom, Wanwan is doing very well, don't worry." Lin Zhou comforted her, "The special training teachers are taking care of her, and she is very motivated in her studies."
"That's good, that's good." Wang Xiue breathed a sigh of relief.
"Mom, why did you suddenly think of calling to ask about Wanwan?" Lin Zhou asked, slightly puzzled.
"Oh, it's all because of your grandmother." Wang Xiue sighed, "She has been nagging for the past few days, saying that Wanwan isn't young anymore and should really be looking for a partner. She says our family's child is about to become an old maid."
Upon hearing this, Lin Zhou couldn't help but laugh. He hadn't expected that, outside of national affairs, his family would still be worrying about such domestic trivialities.
"Mom, Wanwan is only 18 and still in high school!" Lin Zhou said, unable to laugh or cry, "What kind of partner should she be looking for! Let's wait until she gets into the Film Academy before considering these things."
"Sigh, your grandmother is just a worrywart." Wang Xiue said, "And you, hurry up too, while you're still young, find a girlfriend. Don't always be so busy with those national affairs and neglect your own personal matters!"
"I know, Mom, I will." Lin Zhou said perfunctorily.
Hanging up the phone, Lin Zhou smiled helplessly. His family's concern was always so simple and genuine. He checked the time; the afternoon's signing ceremony was about to begin.
