61: Two Messengers Arrive Together (Seeking Follow-up Reading)
“I heard you wanted to know about yesterday’s demon battle?”
Chen Yuan smiled, looking at Pockmarked Face before him.
Observing with his Mind’s Eye, there was a familiar, Evil spiritQi in this person’s Dantian.
Another damned Human Race demon!
Pockmarked Face’s expression shifted, his smile vanished, and his brow furrowed as he became alert, his voice cold: “Who are you?”
The door had closed, yet he hadn’t felt any Qi fluctuations.
“Who am I?”
“You’re here for your Feixian Sect’s Lord Weiyang, aren’t you?”
“He was killed by me yesterday!”
As Chen Yuan spoke the latter part, his tone turned chilling, and the next second, silver light burst from his eyes.
“What?!”
Pockmarked Face’s expression drastically changed.
He quickly tried to activate the demonic seed within him.
But the next second, he felt his Dantian tighten.
The demonic seed within him was forcefully seized, and the terror emanating from it made his hair stand on end.
He was terrified and wanted to turn and flee.
As soon as he shifted his feet, the air instantly became as solid as diamond.
Then, a vortex of wind arose from beneath his feet, rising upwards like a rope, binding him tightly.
He was instantly unable to move.
Only his terrified eyes remained, staring at Chen Yuan.
Meanwhile, Chen Yuan, as if strolling leisurely by the rockery, paused and asked him, his eyes gleaming.
“Speak, how many humans have you all come here this time?”
Pockmarked Face struggled to twist his body, suppressing the terror in his heart, and gritted his teeth, “Let me go! I won’t tell you. The envoy lord who came this time will surely notice, and then…”
Chen Yuan completely ignored this fellow’s threat; instead, his eyes lit up, and he continued to interrogate.
“Envoy?”
“Which one of your damn cult’s Twelve Divine Envoys?”
Pockmarked Face looked at the guy so close, with a hint of malice stirring in his eyes, and was somewhat horrified.
The courage he had just mustered instantly dissipated.
He trembled but remained silent.
Seeing this, Chen Yuan directly raised his palm, grasping in the Void Realm, and then forcefully twisted.
“Ah!”
A scream pierced the air.
It echoed in the small courtyard.
But it couldn’t escape.
Because there was a wind wall blocking the courtyard’s surroundings.
And in the corner of the small courtyard, there were three sheep, with several messy piles of green grass at their feet, seemingly gnawed upon.
The three sheep were now looking in this direction, and it was clearly visible that one of Pockmarked Face’s arms had been brutally twisted off, bone shards piercing through flesh, a truly gruesome sight.
The three of them couldn’t help but shiver, huddling further into the corner.
This Patrolling Mountain Commandant was truly terrifying.
At this moment, the intense pain had long since drained Pockmarked Face’s courage, and he shrieked loudly.
“I’ll talk! I’ll talk!”
But the next second,
Another shriek of agony.
His other arm was also brutally twisted off, directly contorted into a pretzel shape.
“Sorry, you spoke too late.”
Chen Yuan had no pity for such Human Race demons, these traitors of humanity.
They are vicious, and you can only be more vicious, more ruthless than them.
Pockmarked Face cried out, “I’ll tell you! This time, two envoy lords came: Lord Wu Ma and Lord Scarlet Flood Dragon. Lord Weiyang died, and the main altar seems to attach great importance to it, sending the two lords to investigate. It seems they are looking for something and sent us to Qingshan County to investigate some circumstances at the time.”
Pockmarked Face dared not hesitate now, spilling everything he knew in one go.
“Looking for what?”
A sharp glint flashed in Chen Yuan’s eyes.
Then, his finger flickered.
A palm-sized golden scale appeared between his fingers.
This was what Lord Weiyang had tried to destroy before his death.
He definitely didn’t want Chen Yuan to get it.
But Chen Yuan couldn’t understand it.
“Is it this?”
Pockmarked Face looked at it, then shook his head.
“I don’t know.”
Chen Yuan carefully observed the subtle expressions of this fellow; it seemed he truly didn’t know.
Immediately, a cold light flashed in his eyes, and he said, “Where are these two divine envoys now?”
“Lead the way!”
As he spoke, he chanted a spell, his lips moving rapidly, and pointed at the other party.
The wind vortex trapping Pockmarked Face suddenly grew larger, stirring up white mist.
When the white mist dispersed,
A sheep crashed to the ground.
Emitting terrified bleats.
Having done all this, Chen Yuan turned to look at Old Wu.
A silver gleam flashed in his eyes, and he beckoned to Old Wu.
From Old Wu’s sleeve flew out two silver ingots, one large and one small.
The silver ingots transformed into two silver monstrous insects with sharp mouthparts, flapping their wings and fiercely flying towards Chen Yuan.
Chen Yuan grabbed them and squeezed hard.
A raging fire ignited.
Burning them to ashes.
Then, as if nothing had happened, he praised Old Wu.
“There’s nothing normal about these guys.”
“Old Wu, you did well this time.”
Old Wu smiled bitterly and shook his head, “I’m just an ordinary old man now. If it weren’t for the Tiger Talisman that Lord Chen Yuan bestowed upon me as a warning, this old man wouldn’t have known this person was strange.”
As he spoke, Old Wu pulled out a black token from his chest; it was Chen Yuan’s Patrolling Mountain Tiger Talisman.
As the Patrolling Mountain Commandant’s Tiger Talisman, this item could naturally sense evil Qi within a certain range.
Old Wu handed the Tiger Talisman to Chen Yuan.
“But Lord Chen Yuan’s foresight is truly remarkable; it seems you already knew these people would come.”
Chen Yuan nodded, a faint chill in his eyes.
“Last time, Commandant Qin Hu reminded me that the Feixian Sect is plotting something big these days and told me to be careful of these guys. I didn’t expect them to come knocking so soon.”
“I killed one of their mid-level members, and I thought the commotion would die down a bit. What I told you before was just a precaution, but I didn’t expect these guys to come so quickly, and with an even bigger presence.”
“Heh, this time, two envoys actually came. But they’re not here to attack the city; they’re here to find something!”
Chen Yuan sneered.
Old Wu’s heart tightened instantly, and he quickly said, “Lord Chen Yuan, are you planning to go find them proactively?”
Chen Yuan was noncommittal,
“Old Wu, these things cannot be avoided. Fortunately, I used my demon body to divert attention, so everyone’s attention isn’t on me, this Patrolling Mountain Commandant. If danger is discovered, it’s best to nip it in the bud early. We can’t just sit and wait for others to come knocking; that would be too late.”
Old Wu knew he couldn’t stop Chen Yuan.
The more he understood, the more he knew what kind of person Lord Chen Yuan was.
The kind who seeks revenge without delay.
“I await Lord Chen Yuan’s return.”
“Good!”
Chen Yuan smiled, went back to change into coarse linen clothes, then put on a straw hat, and broke off a bamboo pole from the bamboo forest.
Then, he herded the sheep that Pockmarked Face had transformed into.
However, herding just one felt like the disguise wasn’t enough.
So he turned his gaze to the three sheep trembling in the corner.
He walked over.
The three sheep saw this fierce man approaching, with a seemingly ill-intentioned smile on his face, and involuntarily retreated.
Until they could retreat no further.
“I ask for your help one more time, all three of you.”
“I will certainly repay you handsomely in the future.”
Chen Yuan cupped his fists.
If the three sheep could speak,
They would surely curse loudly at this moment.
Believe you, my foot! You’ve already made us eat grass.
But at this moment, they could only make “baa, baa, baa” sounds.
“Thank you!” Chen Yuan took it as their agreement.
Leading the three sheep, plus Pockmarked Face.
He herded them towards the door!
